A few years ago when I was still going to SUNY Purchase - fall/winter/spring '08-'09 - I used to like walking down to the back entrance - Lincoln Ave. - and watch planes landing on 34.. walked up to the fence and got to see all the way down.
The only problem I'd have is every time I got too close to the perimeter fence, I'd trip off some sensor or something, and airport vehicles would come racing over - once got a visit from I think it was a sheriff, but once he saw I was just watching planes I was left alone. A pain, really, as that is one unique spot to watch planes from.
@travelsonic yeah that's happened to us before while we were filming! Got it all on film. He Made us leave. LOL. F100's WOW I could not imagine that!. Thanks
@iissyy123 On Saturday I'm flying out on jetBlue and hope to record takeoff - takeoffs out of the county airport are exciting especially on something relatively large [compared to the ERJs, CRJs, 717s, etc that fly out of there regularly]. I remember back when I was really young, 10 - 13 years ago - going to the airport, walking around, watching planes from the observation deck - back when US Airways was still USAir, American still flew F-100s out of there, United flew 737s out, etc *sigh*
Nice vid...actually I'm not sure if you're aware but the American Eagle ERJs are now operated under Chautauqua Airlines. They have American Connection painted on them!
