After about a year having this, it works well except when I turn it to the left side sink - it goes on and off by itself, and is a bit of a pain. Otherwise, it works well now. Have not changed the batteries out since I installed it.

yes the faucet requires 4 D batteries that come with the faucet when you purchase it.
