man i always love seeing legends working together, even in a commercial. love both of these guys, they were so intimidating with there eyes and cold stares. i miss actors like that.
@Tareltonlives And they are in two of the most classic gunfights in western history. Jack Palance against Alan Ladd in Shane and Lee Van Cleef against Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach at the end of Good, Bad and Ugly. Well Van Cleef was also one of the gunmen after Gary Cooper at the end of 1952's High Noon.
Ahhhhh, JACK PALANCE and LEE VAN CLEEF.
Good to see Lee and Jack together. Pity no enterprising producer couldn't team them together in an authentic western. Palance was making a few spaghetti westerns in the late 60's when Van Cleef was at his peak.
@normanby100 Well they both appeared in 'God's Gun', which is not the best Western, and was made in (mainly) Israel, I believe, by Italians, but it is as authentic as the next. I do not by the ''real Westerns are from the USA'' talk, because it is only a setting and era, just as medieval films. Is it right to say that the only real Robin Hood films are made in England and the only real King Arthur films are made in Wales? What about real Roman films, shouldn't they be from Italy?
@SparrowVanCleef 'God's Gun' wasn't great but a film with Lee van Cleef and Jack Palance has at least two things going for it. This advert is great though...could have made a great, and weird, sitcom.
Wonderfully entertaining commerical. Which I'm seeing today for the first time! Can't go wrong with those veteran character actors Jack Palance & Lee Van Cleef. How sad that these two gifted performers are no longer with us....hopefully they're up in heaven, still ridin' the range! THANK YOu for posting this delightful clip! :)
Jack Palace-Got his tough scarred look in WW2 bailing out of his burning B24 bomber....his looks are after his plastic surgery to repair the damage from the flames.
@hankedful Agreed, both were cool badasses, and two of my favourite actors. Both also shone especially well in Westerns and made one together called 'God's Gun', which I find underrated.
My personal body guards in Hell I hope.

Lee Van Cleef and Jack Palance should have had their own TV series

And ever since this commercial, the warranty Midas gives you ends with the words "Believe it - or not!"

Real man alert.
Van Cleef and Palance were the real deal,
tough-guy WWII vets, great actors.
Not like the metrosexuals in Hollyweird today.

Did we know....
Jack Palace-Got his tough scarred look in WW2 bailing out of his burning B24 bomber....his looks are after his plastic surgery to repair the damage from the flames.
Lee Van Cleef-WW2 subchaser veteran.

Jesus christ..Two of the meanest bad asses of all time in a comercial! Van Cleef was rough. But Jack...(Shudders)

Van Cleef had his middle finger off at the first knuckle!
walrustusks 2 years ago
@walrustusks You could cut off all of Van Cleef's fingers,
and 9 of his toes,
and he'd still kick your ass.

Jack Palance was no pushover either, I enjoy his work.
