I love his style and his guts!! man!!!!... he is really lucky, though... seems he hasn't been punched. Here in Dallas people always looks super angry when they discover me taking their photo in the streets
This guy is nothing less than a legend. Wherever I go, I see people criticizing him for his rude working methods.
I think his photographs is a true representation of what street photography is about: Smelling the streets. Smelling the emotions, the chaos in New York City and the lostness of it's people.
He is masterful in his very unique approach of documenting the streets. His methods may be seen as rude by some people, but really the bottom line is that nobody can photograph like him.
i can't get enough of this guy.. You get the sense that theres alot to learn from him. Last time I took a shot of someone face to face i almost got my ass kicked : )
I don,t know why People get angry while you take a picture from them.I would be happy to have a picture from myself shoot by a person like Mr. Gilden. He never would show us when the picture is not good enough.he freezes a second from the life of a stranger.thats all....and brilliant.
I shoot street and trust me this guy is really gutsy. Masterful really. He's achieving images that no one else will because no one will approach the subject the way he does. I think he'll be remembered for these images he's made. I'm encouraged to be a little more gutsy myself in my shooting
Awesome photography and style! One of a kind! But pretty unpleasant.

This guy is my hero. His work is alive. It's like I've stepped into his shoes when I see his photos.

Truly fantastic, the man is a legend.
No one else can do this as well as him now.
In London, I'm sure you'd get hit....

I totally agree. I often watch one of the other clips of him at work to psyche myself up from some street close-ups.
This is another great clip.
