  • The environment is not a moral imperative. I don't care that some aboriginal is upset that we are chopping down his stupid sacred forest. boo hoo.

  • woolworths is an awesome shop. If you don't like it,you are free to shop at your local green grocer who charges twice the price.

  • Who fucking cares, it's just arse paper, & the only reason I won't get it isn't cos of the environment, it's cos that shit just burns my ring, it's cheap & nasty, nothing beats the better brands, at the end of the day it's just Homebrand lol

  • bitches

Fuck woolworths, the only business of mine you will ever see, is that paper bag with my own shit in in it that has been laying underneath the meat fridge for 3 weeks

    Woolworths the EUGENICS PEOPLE!

  • Hello Woolworths,I hope you are reading this .When are you and Coles going to allow Aldi into South Australia . Ya Mongrels!! As soon as there is ALDI here i'm saying goodbye to you both because i believe you and Coles are colluding to prevent them from geting a foothold in this State and the local government are at your beck and call.Well they won't be here after the next election to save your sorry arses. I can't explain in words how much I HATE AND DETEST BOTH WOOLWORTHS AND COLES.

  • The Muslims have it right one hand for eating the other for wiping, no more paper needed problem solved

  • Would this be true for the serviettes as well? I know there is a Homebrand toilet tissue - Would this apply too?

  • you know they trying 2 get into hardware

  • fuck woolies i wrked at the warehouse in yanora dirty as

  • At least Woolworth's are Australian owned.

I realise their ethics can be interpreted negatively, however, as long as I support an Australian owned company, I am willing to sacrifice a rain forrest in Asia.

Besides, if Woolworth's don't buy it, one of the other million companies who use unsustainable rain forrests will.

Maybe you should channel all your Windows Movie Making talent towards BP or another massive multinational company that are pumping oil into the ocean. Rather that Woolies.

  • woolworths the rip off people

  • What a typical piece of green propaganda! Misleading statements, lies and nothing to back it up!

  • Why just Woolworths? They are all bad and its not just th trees or a single label that may be misleading. All labels are misleading as well as the shops, stores, and so on.

  • How many other brands are made from the same pulp? Do you really know what you are wiping your butt with?

  • woo i work at woolies!

  • W00t!!! same check out chick ftw!

  • dont care where it comes from as long as my but gets wiped...

  • Ohhhhhhh boo hoo.

  • who cares, it is going to be cut down anyway, it's cheaper so gives a shit.

Get the hell over it, if it wasn't Woolies knocking that tree down, it would be some other toilet paper company chopping it down and charging you twice as much.

  • lol hu cares

  • Go fuck yourself blond bitch

  • i wonder if they mislead there employees to?

  • accept the fact that its a dugongs shit?

  • its gone

  • but the problem is that woolies is misleading customers, so it is as bad as the asian company

  • lol its a big shame they are closed down...nowhere for the chavs to go

  • Toilet paper is made out of trees. If we import trees, we dont cut down our own trees.

But yes, buy other products toilet paper. You pay more, and we make more money. Our select brand is there for benefit customer. That is why other products cost more. There are profits for the company making them and for woolies. Select, there is only one lot of profit to be made, and that's the profit for woolies. So in the end. we make similar if not more on good brand names...

  • yeeey im gonna go buy lots of toilet paper that distroys things WOO

  • jon you are a wonderful man

  • POOR WOOLWORTHS. it's taking a nose dive faster then concord.

  • haha i wish. but no im not.

STILL IM RIGHT AS NORMAL. LOL 8-)

  • girl rides naked on motorbike through Wollworths in Redcar UK. From the movie "is that it?"

  • the asian company that sells the pulp is the problem ....and even if woolworths stopped buying it from them - you can be sure another company will anyway....Rather than attack woolworths- you should taget the asians cutting down trees and selling pulp.

  • You want cheap, company's want profit thats what you get.

  • I think they have them in Franklins still.

  • godfear000 - no it isnt policy. Its called being fucking polite u twit.

  • You talk about politeness but you aren't polite yourself.

  • I quit working for them today

    Woo hoo!

  • lol

  • Woolworths the shit food people!

  • When i went to the Woolworths today i bought 2 crunchies saying 2 for $3.00 but when I bought them to the counter the screen said $3.37 what the hell is with that(also i bought some blueberries for $7.00 which makes it $10.37 man that machine is fucked up. Also when I gave the money to the clerk I put it on the counter she said "Put it in my hand'. Then she put the change on the counter and said 'how does that feel?'and I left I mean is there some kind of policy to put the money in that hand?

  • Just a note I work for a supermarket (not Woolworths or Coles) and I dare say that the multi-buy deal your talking about may have been rung off when the cashier sub-totaled the sales. That how our system is set up. But the way the cashier acted was unexcusable.

  • inexcusable*

  • why didnt you not be a pushover and tell them they priced it wrong, and better yet, tell her if she wants the money she can pick it up her self

  • Because i didn't want to cause a scene.

  • If you caused a scene you would have got one crunchie for free and the other at the special single unit price (By law), also if you rang their head office and dobbed in the cashier you probably been given a gift voucher if you complained hard enough. It pays to be a pain in the arse to these corporations.

  • that's a lie!!!!!!!!!! and i'd know cuz i am a woolworth!!!!!!!!! thats my family who has always owned the woolworths stores!!!!! its not true!!!

  • You guys know fuck all about an industry you pretend to know about

    1) Kimberly-Clark (Cottonhell) is 100% US owned. Pulp is grown in Australia and imported. What was on the land before KCA got hold of it

    2) SCA (Sorbent) is 100% Swedish. Pulp is grown O/S. Where does it come from? Asia and Sth America

    3) ABC (Quilton) is 100% private. Where does the pulp and paper come from? Asia and Sth America.

Unions give fuck all about environment. 100% about their jobs

  • Seems like another former employee who has no idea about the company that they work/worked for. Get your facts right and stop misleading the online public with such garbage.

  • to iamsamarg, you are in idiot. i have 3 jobs before my one at woolworths now and i can safely say that is the best place i have ever worked at (im still at school so its only casual). woolworths has a massive system desiged to help staff and and the whole store is set up in a way in which the staff can be as comfortable as possible. you have no idea about the pricing structure either, and all your doing is spreading false rumours.

  • You obviously don't work there full time haha..

My advice to you would be stay in school, because you don't want to be stuck working for this tightarse company all your life.

  • This video is WRONG and misleading. Looks like COles have hit the production studios.

  • Been with Woolworths for three years. This is NOT the worst thing the company has done. They DON'T care about you, they DON'T care about their staff. They want to get as much money as they can out of you (No you're not imagining it, they prices DO go up every day) and spend as little on their staff and stores as possible.

  • Haha.. this is so true. I've been there for 3 years also.

I remember when they had a team of people out to their stores to put stickers over the labels on all the select tissues, toilet paper and paper towels to cover up misleading info.

  • BULLSHIT. go work for Coles you knob. The stores have the money to spend. Its the quality of the management in the store and the sales that the store getting.

  • lol thts a load of bullshit... itz illeagal to hav those things on there wen in fact itz not true... woolies buy select of another companies and just put there label on it itz the same with homebrand they put there label on it haha

  • I wont be ever buying the Select products again! I hope Indonesia rots for how they rape their forests! Greedy maggot Indonesian government and any1 that supports APP should be castrated, desexed and put to death!

  • Actually, Woolworths used to get the pulp from Singapore and China, since Singapore operations have been under investigation, Woolworths have taken the Singapore made products off the shelves, and kept the enviromentally friendly products on the shelves.

  • Really? Tell me why Singapore ops are under investigation?

Woolworths don't have any "einvironmentally friendly" Select products on the shelves that are made in China. They just ignore the fact that they support the destruction of poor countries and the environment

  • I don't know why they are under investigation, i just remember about 6 months ago, the store I worked in, and every other Woolworths i worked it got a withdrawal notice telling us to take all "Select Brand" tissue papers, toilet papers, tissues ect. Then about a week later, we were to sort through them and the ones produced in China (i may have gotten the countries wrong), could go back on the shelf, the ones made in Singapore were to be sent back to our distribution center.

  • sorry a little typo there, take "i worked it" out after Woolworths, apologies

  • yea i work @ woolies too we had select toliet paper taken off due to a misleading typo on it it forgot to put some add to the paper soo we just put it into our lockers and been using tht toilet paper betta then the friggin homebrand crap on ur ass

  • @justice920 so where do u get ur bullshit facts? ur ass?

  • Good point

  • yer woolies

  • Oh No coz Woolowrths is going to lose so much in sales just because peope dont buy select toilet paper. One half of my shifts is on register and hardly any customers buy Select toilet paper anyway they buy the brand stuff. Im sure they dont really care about the sales loss that much because it would barely be affected

  • Well, actually the misleading information came from an Indonesian company called "Asia Pulp and Paper". Woolworths was under the impression that the toilet paper, paper towels and facial tissues that were being manufactured by this company, were being sourced from sustainable forest fibre.

It's not like Woolies decided to rip heaps of forests down because it was a cheaper option. The company was simply misinformed.

Woolies has done everything in its power to rectify the situation now.

  • come on maggot mcdonald. out yourself. you just work for WW doing corporate spin dont you? WW get this lousy toilet paper from APP because its cheap and they dont care how bad it is. This is about WW greed and nothing else. dont forget they lied with their bullcrap logos and they were forced to withdraw the product. WW wasnt misled - they did the misleading

  • we dont sell tissue in my branch

  • lol funny that I'm watching this just before I go to work at woolworths lol...

Yea, they might be assholes, but I'm sure coles would likely be just as bad, and they give me money, if one of you hecklers want to give me a job lol, then fuck woolworths. Until then, I have to keep going back there.

  • OMFG!!!!!!!! i work for woolworths nd we aint lying to our customers... if u go to coles they have a similar thing to select and all toliet tissue's r from trees so go fuk urselves.... woolworths is better than coles by far!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry did get my facts wrong, its the tissues made by sorbent for woolworths.

The toilet tissue has become a "deleted" line and wont reappear in stores. Most likeley contracted out to someone else.

But you do have to remeber its not only woolworths buying the pulp off APP.....

  • Woolworths are disgraceful. I won't be shopping there after seeing this. SHAME ON YOU WOOLWORTHS, SHAME

  • stop bitching.

  • My comment is not bitching, what woolworths are doing is just disgraceful and I'm quite sure even you can see that. Perhaps you should make an attempt to provide useful responses to people's comments.

  • Well i don't shop there anymore because of this. You don't even have to watch Today Tonight to know how dodgy Woolworths are

  • lol, because Today Tonight and other current affairs shows are so famous for their integrity... not.

Btw, I'm not trying to be a smartass, just thought I would point that out, but you're right I guess watch out

  • You all have to be kidding. First of all Woolworths have admitted to this. The so called recall was done while the Woolworths Management team investigated the issue, and it turned out that there was no evidence available. But they are still investigating and in the meantime not producing anymore. You all bag out Woolworths. Woolworths is the larges private employer in this country, so go on teach them a lesson stop shopping there, but make sure no one you know works for them!

  • Woolworths are LAIRS!!!! Here me LAIRS! They did NOT admit to it straight away, they DENIED IT, lied their arses off to try and avoid it. I seriously doubt they are investigating it in a professional and independent manner. They should commission a FULL INDEPENDENT report into it. If they are "not producing anymore" and had it recalled why then was it on sale last week????? (yes we all receive their rubbish catalogs - because I wouldn't step foot in that hell hole).

  • What's worse is you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Woolworths are NOT the largest private employer in Australia-& what difference would it make if they were??? Because you employ a large number of people does not mean u can do whatever u want, destroy forests, kill animals and allow people in less advanced economies to be treated poorly. So why don't you get your facts straight before you start spitting rubbish like you have all over this discussion board. BOYCOTT WOOLWORTHS!!!

  • Ok, who is the largest employer then? You tell me if you know! And where are you getting your facts from? What can you prove I have got wrong? Do you work for them? Im not saying they can do what they want, but when companies as big as Woolies make mistakes, everyone blames it on the fact that they are as big as they are. If my local IGA did the same thing, do you think you would hear about it?

  • Mate does it sound like I work for them you dumba*s. Sounds a little more like you're part of their proper gander machine churning out all those lies, and claiming how wonderful woolworths allegedly is. Woolworths freely admit they are the "second largest employer" in Australia (why don't you check their annual report, their website, or better still stick it in google and see how many hits you get for SECOND).

  • Furthermore 'imbullduzt' I'm not at all surprised you believe what woolworths say because you sound like you have the iq of a monkey. I mean what did you expect them to say "we're the scummy bast**ds you think we are and we're just going to keep on doing it anyway - yah for our greed!!!".

  • Woolworths can't prove that their product doesn't come from APP!!! The quickest and easiest way to prove us all wrong would be for them to come straight out and say XX is our supplier, here's proof. Wouldn't you agree??? Is that so difficult? And if Woolworths are the great people you are making them out to be, wouldn't their supplier be MORE THAN HAPPY to be associated with these allegedly great people. 'imbullduzt' you're just as bad as them.

  • As for you providing incorrect information, I think Woolworths themselves proved you wrong-I clearly don't need to. And no, we blame Woolworths because they are bullies and are doing the WRONG thing not because they are big. If IGA started producing their own branded product that they produced themselves, pushed it to death & it was from scum like APP we would be just as outraged & doing the same things to try & stop them. Woolworths are total scum, and if you work for them I feel sorry for you.

  • i work for em and its meh work.

  • And because you work for them that makes you an expert does it??? So what exactly do you do for them? Some type of key decision maker with significant influence? I would really question your level of knowledge regarding woolworths' deals.

If working at woolworths is so 'meh' perhaps you should consider why you can't get a better job at an organisation that has some morals...

  • oh sorry good sir, my vocabulary is limited to yours, your mt perfect 100% of the time.... Im working there because Im still considering what I would like to do in life. So im working at the moment a entry level job at a retail store so i can make money ona 38 hour roster while i consider what id like from life. Is that okay with you God?

  • haha man, i work for woolworths, i work in their head office, thares far less problems for the environment in woolworths then other companies, why is it you people all only go for the big companies, only find problems with big companies, coles causes far more problems for the environment as woolworths.. same as everyone bitching about telstra.. they are still a billion times better then optus...

  • Turdmonkey, it's sad that you've been indoctrinated too. The fact that other companies may be *worse* than Woolworths does not mean that Woolworths is good, nor that they should get away with knowingly lying to consumers by pretending they don't know. If you'd been to Indonesia and seen what's happening - what Woolworths is funding, then you'd understand

  • @justice920 The old growth Forrest trees make the toilet paper extra soft!

  • @justice920

i work for them as well, and i'd say i'd agree, safeway is not exactly the most enviromentally friendly company.

  • from now on im not wiping my ass with woolworths toilet papers. WTF MAN ITS JUST TOILET PAPER WHO CARES IF ITS GOT MISLEADING LABEL. u simply clean ur poop with it n throw it away n i dont think you would see it again. faaags..

  • I aggree people thinking woolies is scum are clearly retarded hippies

  • who gives a fuk, either way.. woolies are fukn caaaaaaarnts.. lol

  • you must work there, huh

  • and Sorbent's not the only Aussie made brand. there are a stack of others like kleenex, purex, wondersoft etc ... and on that front, there are a lot of other supermarkets. not just Safeway and Woolworths!

  • no 'littleguy2001', you are wrong. Sorbent is a brand of toilet paper made in Australia. As we all know, off the back of a tirade of community hostility and bad press YESTERDAY (Monday 28/8)Woolworths were forced to withdraw the products from its shelves because of the allegations in this video, across the web, in the public domain, on major Australian media outlets etc. the fact is that APP has been making Woolworths Select and APP is environmentally unsustainable

  • Actually the toilet tissue is made by "Sorbent" so if your so called facts are correct which they are not "Sorbent" is cutting down asian forests, which really who gives a shit about.

So you should get your facts right.

  • Littleguy2001, I'm interested to know where you got your incorrect facts. Is that u Mr Luscombe??

tcwoods21 is correct. Sorbent do not supply the pulp for the Woolworths Select brand, APP do. That's why when the media got up Woolies this week, they took the product off the shelves. I reckon Woolies is waiting until the politicians and journalists' interest dies down, & they'll put OLD GROWTH FOREST, UNSUSTAINABLE FOREST FIBRE, back on the shelves. They are bullies at Woolworths. All of them.

  • I work at woolies. The so called "Product recall" involved us taking all the WOW Select products off the shelf for 2 weeks, putting them in storage out the back dock, then when all died down, we put all the products back out on the shelves again. Same products, same packaging. Recall my arse. Lol

  • @Macca4486 we put all ours downstairs for staff to use.. i think we used the last roll last week .. lol... at least we're still fresh food people.. they never have said they are a paper company..

  • Well done - about time these big corporate players were outed
