  • Skate or Die....Beberapa!

  • It's been a while since I last saw a review by the cowboy.

  • i like the animations

  • i love the hand joust event in the xgames

  • 720 was way better

  • some games just age better than others! I hear what people are saying as to the "compare it to other games in the same genre/same system" fair enough. but even back in the day I didn't like Skate or Die, though I really wanted to.

  • I get nostalgic seeing this game, but I'll admit, it was a great concept, poor execution on the nes. the tony hawk games starting with the dreamcast were way more fun in terms of skateboarding with a controller. I realize Skate or Die on the NES was inspired by the arcade game "720 degrees" but still, even that game wasn't all its cracked up to be (though I'll admit it is a lot easier to play with the original rather unique controls)

  • I really dont like this reviewer, and that is saying something, I generally like all of CGR's reviews, ALL OF THEM (maybe besides just a couple from derik) but this guy is biased beyond belief

  • "like most 8 bit computer systems at the time" you mean just the NES and a few other obscure ones???

  • what a shitty review

  • "...Skate or Die. An 8-bit skating game that laid the foundation for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater."

Oh good god! Not this mistake again (he did this in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater review). Skate or Die did not found the skateboarding genre, when other games (like Atari/Midway's 720 degrees) came before it and founded it then. Did you learn ANYTHING from your last blunders Eric?

  • Just because you suck at a game doesn't mean it's a bad game.

  • 3:23 Unnatural pause. I thought it was just a Ryan thing..

  • IN the half pipe once you start spinning you have to hit either a or b (don't remember which) to stop the spinning while your bourd is flush with the ramp. If you let it keep spinning you will always crash no matter how it looks. Not that this game is realistic at all, but actually a real vert skater would crash too if he attempted to just keep spinning after re-entering the halfpipe. Just sayin'

  • I loved this game growing up. You have to get use to the controls. The only event I had difficulty with was the high jump. Just because you suck at a game doesn't mean you should give it a bad review. Oh well.

  • @timrussell22 He did this before with his Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64) and 007 Nightfire (GBA) reviews. He always blames his failures against the game. I've seen reviewers who aren't good at some games and still made good reviews.

  • Thumbs up if you're the 302nd viewer! lol just kidding

  • This game had a lot going for it, if you remember that it's competition was other NES games. Good variety, interesting soundtrack, and positive attitude and humor. The reviewer craps all over the game as though it was released the same year as Uncharted 3 or something.

  • @d1664256 well to be fair it does look terrible i wouldn't play it

  • This looks more fun to watch than play.

  • The GameBoy version plays .... nothing like this.

  • This was the epitome of skateboarding games when I was a kid! I played it recently and I didn't remember how hard is was to control, but you kinda adapt over time to it's inefficiencies. Great review brother!

  • LOL Rodney danger field

  • 720 in the arcades was probably 100 times better than this looks.

  • This game was originally developed for the C64, and with the right joystick/control pad, it's a much better game, including the graphics, and music, only bummer is the load time of it being on a floppy disk, or tape, depending on which version you have the NTSC(Floppy), PAL(Tape).

  • Before Funny or Die polluted our subscription boxes, Skate or die polluted our NES collections

  • Forefather of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? NO. It's the forefather of Skate. As in Skate or Die. Published by EA.

  • @WebVManReturns You realize publishers have very little to developing of a game? Not to mention Pro Skater came out much earlier.

  • The controls just blow for this game but still a great concept back in the 80's.

  • Love this game

  • Wow, this would be the first time that I'm the first viewer. Ever. Haha, awesome. ^_^

Good review, the game doesn't look very fun. I'm not a skater but I enjoyed Tony Hawk Underground 2 on the XBOX back in around 2006. Haha that was a fun game. But I definitely wouldn't pick this up.

  • @JuanitoShet Sorry, but you arent

  • Asshole 2nd
