Hi Richy, are you still going strong with your eZip? I just bought one and want to change from SLA batteries to Lipos at 25.9 Volt ;-) Thanks for sharing and a Happy New Year! :-))
Not to be rude or anything but this video has nothing to do with the title because you talk more about the attachments then the bike itself and thats why I can to this video to see the bike not the attachments.
I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali
Hunter: That is one heck of a bike you got there, Good job there partner!! I have a gas bike and I wanted to buy a electric bike as well, and buy looking at your video. I love that bike. I am going to buy me that same bike, Thanks for posting your video and enjoy the ride....
@haunter51662 Nice looking bike. I own an Ezip bike too but I have not done any mods on it yet. I am afraid to ride it in the rain because I heard they short out in the rain. You must have riden it in the rain since you mentioned the fenders prevent mud from getting on the frame.
Hi Pnkbong...I've actually been in a down-pour only once. It's is a good idea to keep the LED throttle linkage dry if possible, by perhaps covering it with some plastic wrap if you're going to be in a lot of rain. Also, add a small amount of silicon sealer where the main wiring goes into the electric motor. However, I really haven't heard of the electronics shorting out on the Ezip due to rain.
very nice accessories but what confuses me is that if you wanted to take this bike off road through the woods it would be to heavy to climb hills and stay on for a long period of time so wouldnt it just be easier and allot cheap to just by a pedal mo-ped and have a separate quality MTB?
What is the benefit of you bike? At the moment all Im seeing is an over priced Cycle type mo-ped and a unusable pedal bike?? Worst of both worlds, Am I wrong??
He might like it, I would like a bike that charged when I paddled. Then I could actually ride on some charge too. That'd be pimp. Make a video and act like your really riding the whole time LOL
Great information. I am considering purchasing the Currie Technologies 2009 Ezip Trailz Men's Electric Bicycle. I know I will change the bars and seat right away. Did the grips, throttle and brake levers fit or did you have to replace those to? Also, will the current neck with the Riser handlebars you purchased?
get the Izip. Way better bike. Lighter, disc brakes, smoother, adjustable handlebars, looks better. I know a place that sells them cheaper than WalMart's basic Ezip !
With the 20 amp hour batteries I've upgraded to, I'm sure it'll go about 15 miles, maybe more, maybe less. It also depends on the roads and rider weight.
@haunter51662 Hey, because of multiple good comments on the bike, including your comment, i got the bike, and I built it and rode it today. SOOOOO FUNNNN!!!! This bike is just FANTASTIC!!!! I cant wait for my roads to be not iced.
I think the bike is wonderful and love it and use it more now than when I first purchased it. All the modifications I've made to it only made it better and more comfortable to ride. I hope you purchase one too.
Yes, they work great. But some pedaling may be required if the battery gets low or if the rider is heavy. The object of an electric bike is to make getting in shape easier.
Nice modifications. Love the strobes. I started out with a basic electric model just like you. Since then, I am in the process of modding my electric mongoose. All the standard parts have gone away. My new system is pushing 666 watts at 24 volts, rated 32 amps. My motor can dish out 1000 watts @ 36 volts no problem. I had issues with the Navitas tsp 36v-100 amp peak controller and so I must switch to something suitable. I am still experimenting, taking time to get it perfect.
A 20 ampere/hr AGM would give you approx 24 - 30 miles. At 24 v the AGM battery holds 480 watt-hrs. My figure is based on average consumption being 20 watt-hr/mile. I recommend you use SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries. They can be found at Amazon. Be warned that these will be heavy (26 lbs). Consider a lesser A-Hr rating.
Nice bike, very tight looking upgrades. any issues in wet weather? Where did you get the seat? I ask because I hate regular wedge seats. They where not met for man nor beast.
Thank you. It really hasn't rained much here in New York, but others have said good things about using the bike in the rain. Just add a little bead of silicon where the two wires enter the motor so it is fully water-proof, and try not to allow the throttle to get overly wet. As for the seat, I had the idea to use a Moped seat, which worked out fantastic. Mine is off a "General" moped, but the brand Garelli is the same thing. A larger and better seat would be off a PUCH.
I assume you mean the front disc brake I added. The AVID BB7 front disc brake is nothing short of amazing. It's stopping power is far beyond the original V-Style brake it used to have. I hightly recommend them for any bike.
i meant does it come with the disc front brakes ? plus how much does it weigh ? how tough is it to bike without the motor ON,with the battery in place ? Can I get this bike on the bus considering its weight ? or is it too heavy to be lifted up ? thanks
Is it possible to save the Currie battery casing and put in an upgrade battery in that casing? I like the key-lock feature of the Currie battery casing. Also the side position of the batteries is nice so that you still have a storage platform in the area behind the seat.
It is certainly possible to replace the two Currie batteries inside the case, but you'd have to replace them with either the same type of battery or make your own battery pack and fit it inside the case. I do know that Currie is going to offer LiFePo4 batteries soon as an upgrade battery pack.
If I were you, I'd go with a good high quality AGM 10 Amp Hour battery replacing the cheap batteries Currie uses inside the case.

The bike looks a bit silly to me, maybe it's just me.
I like a discreet bike with functionality.

how fast the bike go?
trxslayer 2 years ago
Hi Trxslayer...I'm 190 lbs and have hit 17.4 mph on level ground. Depending on your weight, you could go faster or slower. Thanks for your question.
haunter51662 2 years ago
@haunter51662 How fast do you think a 100 lbs person could go on this?
BlackDragon4716 1 month ago
@BlackDragon4716 Hi BlackDragon...at 100 lbs, I'd say you should easily be able to hit 20+ MPH. On a bicycle, that's getting pretty fast.

The Ezip comes with a charger and recharges in a few hours. However, on my Ezip, I upgraded to a much better 24 volt BatteryMinder charger.
