I answer your concern in one of my other videos. With parallel wired holiday lights you can cut your light strands to whatever length you choose (with limits on the max length, of course) so cut off the extra lights and either attach a long power cable or make a short pigtail with an edison plug and run an extension cord.
This does not help at all when dealing with windows or the garage. Say I have 30' all the way around the garage door, two sides and the top. The lights come in 6' and 12' lengths and I don't see how you make it fit just right and what to do with any left over lights on the strands, with garage and windows?
