Really wish Square would go back into making full fledge adventure games like good Ol' FF7. With FF13, it's so linear... I want that sense of exploration and memorable soundtrack and characters. I mean hell, I've played through 50 years of 13 And I still can't get some of the names of the characters right. Or rather still have a hard time following the story.

I mean, wtf they smoking? No game has an experience comparable to this, and this song embodies it entirely. I've played a hellllllll of a lot of games, and not ONE of them gave me the same emotional ride as this. I'm not even subject to nostalgia here- first time I picked this up was '07, and I'd been gaming LONG before then. This is THE BEST single player experience out there.

This game and this music... its its... amazing! This main theme here is very heart warming. Since this game came out in 1997, that means this was another of those glorious 1990's masterpieces. Those were the good old days... shame it ended.

Everybody is angry at the fact that all kids these days play is cod. Im actually happy, feels good to be part of that small number that actually played the FF series and got to go on that awesome adventure. These games touched me many times, and hopefully more times to come. THUMBS UP COMRADES!

That's the ONLY time i'll EVER play an FPS game(With the acception of Red Faction for the Playstation 2, because I love that game.), is when i'm with friends and we're bored, we'll do multiplayer on a game (Sometimes it's not even FPS but a lot of the times it is FPS.). But people complain about the "CoDfags" because most of the CoD fanbase plays it for the "Supeerb Graphics." and that all other games are shit compared to it.

It gets me sometimes how people call the story and characters cliche'. It's a fun word that can either make you sound smart or stupid. It was unique in 1997 and still is. If you ignore Advent Children and Dissidia, Cloud is a fantastic character and one of the best amnesia stories ever told. Alas, haters gonna hate.

Moved the PS3 & Xbox 360 out of the way yesterday and set up the PS2, slid in a PS1 memory card and started FFVII after God knows how many years of not playing it. Just this second finished Shinra HQ and arrived at World Map and the game just cast 'Nostalgiaga!' on me... The music, the story, the characters, the memories... They really need to remake this Masterpiece. End of story.

Uematsu's the man; a damn fine composer. Fyi the instrument sounds he composed with are from various Roland (the majority) and Korg 'romplers' - early-to-mid 90's samplers featuring fixed samples stored on rom chips (because memory was damn expensive). Their low bitrate and 'rough approximations' of recorded instruments contributes to their tonality, and this combined with Uematsu's masterful control of programming these devices with MIDI contributes to this soundtrack's unique and special vibe.
Final Fantasy is about exploring the world not to go straight forward until a cutscene. to really understand the characters and the story behind them and not to feel like you're in a paradox. to enjoy listen to some beautiful music that plays by a whole orchestra and not listen to some techno/synth that loops for 30 seconds over and over. to enjoy playing the game and wishes it never ends and not to wanna take out the disc and never play again. to have a memory for life and not for 5 min.
Fun fact about the games soundtrack making. FFVIII was the first orchestrated FF. In order to release the game in time(this one came close to becoming development hell like Duke Nukem Forever, imagine that), they opted to keep simplistic with many things including soundtrack. By this I mean despite being PS 1 sound chip and having access to better equipment Nobuo Uematsu used what he knew, 16 bit(similar to SNES) sound bit on the PS1 chip. This resulted in the sound FFVII has no one else does.

I remember playing FF7 like 10 years ago. I couldn't keep up with the story cuz i was so young. but i could always tell what situation i was in just by listening to the music. When Hurry was playing i knew i had to get my ass out of there and when J-E-N-O-V-A was playing i knew that i was royally screwed. It gets me sometimes how people call the story and characters cliche'. It's a fun word that can either make you sound smart or stupid. It was unique in 1997 and still is. If you ignore Advent Children and Dissidia, Cloud is a fantastic character and one of the best amnesia stories ever told. Alas, haters gonna hate.

I play call of duty. I like it, but... FINAL FANTASY IS THE BEST GAME EVER. I can't compare this to call of duty. that is other shit, man. The music. The history. Everything is best than other games. FF VII will be the best game of all my life, forever. That isn't just a game. This show how the cicle of life works. This show, even if you fall, you have to keep trying. That can't be showed on call of duty games. This show me how life is important, and not to give up your dreams. Best game ever.

Moved the PS3 & Xbox 360 out of the way yesterday and set up the PS2, slid in a PS1 memory card and started FFVII after God knows how many years of not playing it. Just this second finished Shinra HQ and arrived at World Map and the game just cast 'Nostalgiaga!' on me... The music, the story, the characters, the memories... They really need to remake this Masterpiece. End of story.

FF7 in my eyes will never not be the best final fantasy ever made. Though 9 is my personal favorite, I will always tip my hat to 7 and everything about it. Lots of people are saying 6 is the best now but they can go fuck themselves, played both games 7>6. Tired of this.

@Mingaggins Hahah, I agree with you there but FFVII is a damn good game too. In my opinion, my two favorite Final Fantasy songs of all time are the main themes of FFIV and FFVII respectively. Honestly, I've played IV millions of times...but I've never played VII until now, and I'm loving it.

Man this song makes me feel so nostalgic. The first time playing this game I remember wandering on the world map listening to this song and it really made you feel immersed in this new world...everything was so simple and peaceful back then and this game was revolutionary.

Uematsu's the man; a damn fine composer. Fyi the instrument sounds he composed with are from various Roland (the majority) and Korg 'romplers' - early-to-mid 90's samplers featuring fixed samples stored on rom chips (because memory was damn expensive). Their low bitrate and 'rough approximations' of recorded instruments contributes to their tonality, and this combined with Uematsu's masterful control of programming these devices with MIDI contributes to this soundtrack's unique and special vibe.

Final Fantasy is about exploring the world not to go straight forward until a cutscene. to really understand the characters and the story behind them and not to feel like you're in a paradox. to enjoy listen to some beautiful music that plays by a whole orchestra and not listen to some techno/synth that loops for 30 seconds over and over. to enjoy playing the game and wishes it never ends and not to wanna take out the disc and never play again. to have a memory for life and not for 5 min.

Fun fact about the games soundtrack making. FFVIII was the first orchestrated FF. In order to release the game in time(this one came close to becoming development hell like Duke Nukem Forever, imagine that), they opted to keep simplistic with many things including soundtrack. By this I mean despite being PS 1 sound chip and having access to better equipment Nobuo Uematsu used what he knew, 16 bit(similar to SNES) sound bit on the PS1 chip. This resulted in the sound FFVII has no one else does.

I remember playing FF7 like 10 years ago. I couldn't keep up with the story cuz i was so young. but i could always tell what situation i was in just by listening to the music. When Hurry was playing i knew i had to get my ass out of there and when J-E-N-O-V-A was playing i knew that i was royally screwed. Now that I'm older and understand that "insert disc one" means "insert disc one" it was like playing a whole new game. FF 7 has a special place in my heart.*Sob* *Sob*
