ive got a 2007 honda civic, I gotta say, its pretty amazing. I got in a car crash on a busy highway with it, one guy cut me off, I turned HARD to the left, went across the other 4 lanes going the other way, and hit a pole! got bruised up but if I was driving my older car, would have broken a couple bones
last year i go over to Toyota Corolla 89 xD , the oil level goes never down..( i just have to change it evry 20 000 km ) ( not refill it evrey 500km like the honda )
Um, I'm not sure why the side airbags are deploying here. I had a 2006 Civic that I ran into a pole at 50mph and only my driver's airbag deployed, which subsequently threw my head up into the roof giving me a lovely bump for a week. It seems silly that every airbag went off in the car in this test. I think they purposely armed them to go off in this case because the real world doesn't agree with this scenario. I hit the pole dead-nuts center just as this test is showing...
probably because the impact is left corner side and its affecting the left side more - making the airbags deploy on the left side ... :| - wild guess.
"indyschmidt" t depends on were you got hit. there's sensors on the side of the door i believe or somewhere in that reason that senses impact and shielding when necessary. those are side airbags not ceiling airbags. And what the hell are you dooing running into a pole at 50 mph?
I was basically cut off and lost control trying to avoid hitting the other driver. It was raining, I went off the side of the road and into a highway sign pole. I walked out though with only internal bleeding from the seatbelt, so they really aren't bad cars. In retrospect if I had just slammed on the brakes I probably would've been better off...
Ouch! that's gotta fucking hurt! as long as you are alive and breathing that's all that in the end of the day matters. This sort or reminds me of that roll over i got in. I was in a 92 toyota pickup and almost got killed with two scars left over on both of my hands after the accident. Its amazing how i didn't break any bone in my body and never have. and this was off a mountain! :(
I don't think so. Those are curtain airbags that prevent the passenger's head from hitting the window. Those kinds of airbags are starting to show up in many new cars. My '07 Camry has them.
well, yes. but it is reasonable that if you are going about 60 mph on the highway, before an accident you will slam on the brakes. which will bring you down to about 50ish? you might stand a chance - good luck! ;)
Well, if you have time to react, some accidents dont let you do much, normaly they occour when you less expect them, happened to me, I tought I was able to avoid the "dangers" of the road, and PUM!! I couln´t evade a drunk guy, only the car suffered.
Front window didn't crack? are you serious?!

Hondas are so strong now.
calvinblinkee 1 year ago
@calvinblinkee actually theyre designed to be weak in certian areas so that the cars breaks and give to absorb the impact.
cyberhendrix 1 year ago
@cyberhendrix Yeah but their cars are still stronger compared to 15 year ago lol
calvinblinkee 1 year ago
@calvinblinkee All cars are "stronger" than they were fifteen years ago.
Hell look at Ford crash test videos and look how much they have improved.
cyberhendrix 1 year ago
@cyberhendrix Yes but there isn't a Ford in this video.

@calvinblinkee no shit,i was making a comparison.

I hated my Honda civic because it used tooo much oil!!!
moopro88 3 years ago
well why blame civic?
it uses too much 0il for two reasons
if the car is worn...the piston rings are worn and hence..more oil lost
new motors will use more oil till it wears-in......
eeiko321 3 years ago
well maybe your the one using too much oil (driving habits??) there are other factors taht can give you low gas mileage.
lilcrzytimmy 2 years ago
I had 5 civics (86,91,91,92,94) all of them used more than 1 L oil evrey week!

moopro88 2 years ago
Really, using it in city cost more oil, but driving on free way, the fuel metre goes down slowly, about 6L/100KMS

why did side airbags deploY?
balkus1 3 years ago
it's not a good idea here, but they deployed due to the fact that the impact had some movement to the side.
whattheheck1000 3 years ago
it cushions impact all around.

As a 2008 owner, I kinda like those side airbags deploying all quick like that. Nice to know.

Why do Hondas have airbags above the driver? isnt that bad for your neck?

If folks drive cars fast in an enclosed space, this kind of tragedy is inevitable.
Lets hope common sense will prevail in future.

40 miles per hour - 64 kilometres per hour

i think i should lessen my speed then..
who drives 40 mph on a freeway? NONE
couldn't they test it a little faster so i could have an idea whats gonna happen.
sperare2 4 years ago
well, current designs can't cope with speeds much faster than 40mph..

neither could old designs

you will brake before u're going to crash right?
lcw288 3 years ago
u shouldnt... thers less chance of footwell moving than the brake pedal moving
if ur in a higher speed crash dunn touch the pedals and extend ur legs, which saves ur knees but sacrifices ur feet and mabey lower legs lol
