GREAT video!!!! thanks so much. just got my first gun, a pink digi camo p22 and could not get it back together at all. had to watch your vid twice but...YAY!!! I did it!!!
just got this one of these the other day and have already had tons of issue with it. its the new P22Q model and the first time at the range it jammed up a LOT and had tons of ejecting issues with 3 different types of ammo.
I might have just gotten a bad egg but either way its under warranty and I trust them to get it working right :) This was a GREAT video also! had some issues with the spring but the guide rod tricked work wonders. thanks!
im buying mine and doing the paperwork tomarrow, got shipped to a dealer . i was a little worried at first from the reviews stating the misfires and jams but i figured what the hell. Lol
just got my NEW P22 (my first one was stolen from my car in 2008, never recovered)and just stripped and cleaned it using your VERY competent vid. My first maintenance of my old P22 in 06 nearly had me pitching it into a wall! I was SO FRUSTRATED! Cleaning it was always an exercise in uhh...I GUESS this is how this fits back,,,I always felt uncertain and uneasy during reassembly ,your vid makes it EASY!! Thanks and good shooting!
great video..concise, to the point, clearly stated.. . In my opinion the longer dowel you used (instead of the shorter one supplied by Walther ) makes it easier to reassemble the weapon...looking forward to more of your videos
hey i had a question about this gun.. i bought a P22 Pink Carbon fiber for my wife for our 1 year anniversary and even 9th shot that is fired there's always a failure to feed.. every single time.. just wondering it would probably be a MAGAZINE issue since it's the same round every time... or maybe im just lucky with that roundd? anyway would you recommend anything that i use?? i see everyone says to get CCI ammo or whatever.. plz reply thanks!
I love my Walther they really are great little guns. Great video very well done, quick to the point and easy to understand. Thank you for making this video this was much easier than trying to understand the manual. My thread protector is stuck on can't get it to budge any tips?
thanks for the video, do all p22 come with a threaded barrel? i also thought that the p22 was not a tool less desing to field strip in fact i think i saw a video where some sort of propriatary wrench was needed to field strip it. thanks.
How long is the legal wait to buy a weapon like this? I shoot .22 because it's inexpensive and fun at a range, and I don't have a handgun yet - so this would be an ideal choice.
I finally found somebody dumb enough to buy mine from me !! The biggest piece of SHIT I've ever owned. Seriously, hands down, the worst gun I've ever owned.... with that said, this is a good video.
was really concidering buying one of these, but opted not to b/c of the reviews that complained about the 1 yr warranty and the slide wearing out after a few thousand rounds?
Hello. I put about 500 rnds through my brand new P22 yesterday and went to strip it, but the lever is (like you said) really tight. I been messing with it for a whlie. I think part of it is that I don't have really strong hands and I had the same kind of trouble with my XD when I first got it and now it's perfect. Any suggestions?
Love the vid. it really explains things well. I'll be getting one (hopefully this weekend) It sounds like a great little gun. Any advise? by the way love the "God Bless America" Haha you can never have enough guns!
GREAT VIDEO! i have an 11 year old son and i have been teaching him to shoot and the proper handling of firearms i have been thinking of picking up a walther p22 for plinking and for him to practice when i take him to the range with me. he limpwrist my glock 19 and cant handle the recoil of my 1911 do you think this would be a practicle handgun for this purpose? i would appreciate eny feedback thanks.
nice vid man o.o u just fully convinced me to get it XD the walther p22 is going to be my 1st gun besides a .50 muzzleloader that i got rid of cuase i was to scared to shoot it XD this is the best vid ive seen for this gun :D and i didnt know about the acctualy threads that it has XD this will be great for hunting squirels *skeptic look* XD
I'm not arguing here, because I really have little knowledge of firearms laws in the uk, but I thought the only firearms you are allowed pistol-wise are blackpowder guns, vintage pistols and historic pistols?
Would this be a good gun for my first pistol? I'm waiting on my application to get back put i'm sure i will get it, So be looking a pistol soon, and looking cheap b/c laid off of work right now but been watching you and nutnfancy and I want to learn about pistols, and more about guns, now i have 4 rifles at home but would love a pistol
I bought one of these guns off a buddy of mine, and the strange thing was the damn safety was reversed, I thought it was fucked up. And than I put the safety on and it shot. I could have killed myself!! But after I learnt that I liked it. I shot it everyday. My neighbors bitched at my dad.
thanks alot i spent almost 30 minutes messing with my stupid spring then i had it shoot the spring across the room. This is my 8th handgun and the only one i have ever had trouble putting back together. i about threw the damn thing across the room. My walther did not come with a dowel. Thanks again great video
i wonder if there is RFID technology installed on polymer stocks and equipment used by survivalist and prepers? someone mentioned this unlikely possibility in one of the forums i visit, i just cant see this as true, but in the remote possibility it's true deactivating the technology could be life saving.

Hi, toward the end of the video, after u reset the trigger, when u pulled the slide back and it locked in the backward position. U said sumthin about the mag being in and did sumthin causing the slide to return to a "ready to fire" position. What did u do? When cocking this gun, do u have to push the button on the side of the slide or should it return automatically?
VERY good video! I've heard a few mixed reviews on this gun, one guy who made it seem like total crap, but other reviews on this gun are very good, and I'm pretty set on having a Walther P22 be my first handgun. This cleaning guide is very helpful, and I'll be sure to refer back to it. :3

I think taht's a great pistol to start with~ My 11 year old son is dying to get one too. The nickel slide is smoother and seems to function better. Using Hi-velocity ammo like CCI Min-Mags and Stingers also improves reliability. You will not regret this pistol. Thanks~
It's a scaled down version of the P99, 9mm. One of the most interesting pistols on the market. You know Carl Walther would love this firearm. It's accurate and very inexpensive to shoot. You're right about some feed and blowback issues depending on the rounds used. The CCI's are a good choice, or any super-high quality ammo should do the trick. A fine weapon and another fine video Don! Smith and Wesson is involved with these pistols as well as other Walther designs. A great joint venture.
I just bought this little handgun. And I loved it. IT fits my hand perfectly. And since I am just learning to shoot it was no worse then me. I love it
I love having 22lr pistol. I have a Sig Mosqito which is the Sig equivalent more or less. I wish it could hold more than 10 rounds and the magazines for these guns are pricey but I guess its hard to compete with Glocks volume. A couple hundred rounds at the range only costs a fraction of other ammo and the recoil is light enough for anyone to shoot.
Thanks for this! I was actually doing some research on these pistols so your vid helped a lot. I like the semi-fixed barrel, are all the new Walthers like that?

Hi,
Thank you for posting this great tutorial.
For that tricky springy assembly part.....
Search for the video "Walther P22 Issues and Problems".
This guy sure has some problems, but also a really nice technique for the spring assembly part. Maybe that works for you as well..
Perhaps you have in turn an idea on his problems as well, who knows..
So long... :-)

Yes, CCI all the way. Both Mini-mags and Stingers. Highest velocity on the market. I use Winchester and Remington as well but prefer CCI.

Yes, each .22 is different. You have to find the ammo that it cycles reliably and shoots accurately.
