  • GREAT video!!!! thanks so much. just got my first gun, a pink digi camo p22 and could not get it back together at all. had to watch your vid twice but...YAY!!! I did it!!!

  • just got this one of these the other day and have already had tons of issue with it. its the new P22Q model and the first time at the range it jammed up a LOT and had tons of ejecting issues with 3 different types of ammo.

I might have just gotten a bad egg but either way its under warranty and I trust them to get it working right :) This was a GREAT video also! had some issues with the spring but the guide rod tricked work wonders. thanks!

  • This was the best example of a field strip I've seen. You were able to highlight all the problem area's a new owner faces. Thanks

  • This was the best field strip presentation I've seen. Thanks so much,

  • Great video. Other than the recoil spring and the guide rod problem, this gun is easy to put together.

  • Long live the Republic, I like that!

  • You do a very nice job narrating this while doing your breakdown/reassemble. I appreciate you taking the time.

  • im buying mine and doing the paperwork tomarrow, got shipped to a dealer . i was a little worried at first from the reviews stating the misfires and jams but i figured what the hell. Lol

  • good video and easy to follow, i'm picking up one of these this week, i can't wait to shoot it. .22's are so awesome and cheap for ammunition haha

  • just got my NEW P22 (my first one was stolen from my car in 2008, never recovered)and just stripped and cleaned it using your VERY competent vid. My first maintenance of my old P22 in 06 nearly had me pitching it into a wall! I was SO FRUSTRATED! Cleaning it was always an exercise in uhh...I GUESS this is how this fits back,,,I always felt uncertain and uneasy during reassembly ,your vid makes it EASY!! Thanks and good shooting!

  • great video..concise, to the point, clearly stated.. . In my opinion the longer dowel you used (instead of the shorter one supplied by Walther ) makes it easier to reassemble the weapon...looking forward to more of your videos

  • I find the p-22 more fun that my buckmark for some reason.

  • hey i had a question about this gun.. i bought a P22 Pink Carbon fiber for my wife for our 1 year anniversary and even 9th shot that is fired there's always a failure to feed.. every single time.. just wondering it would probably be a MAGAZINE issue since it's the same round every time... or maybe im just lucky with that roundd? anyway would you recommend anything that i use?? i see everyone says to get CCI ammo or whatever.. plz reply thanks!

  • Good Review!! I own one, and think its a fun gun to shoot!!!

  • I really love thet gun..!!

  • I love my Walther they really are great little guns. Great video very well done, quick to the point and easy to understand. Thank you for making this video this was much easier than trying to understand the manual. My thread protector is stuck on can't get it to budge any tips?

  • great

  • thanks for the video, do all p22 come with a threaded barrel? i also thought that the p22 was not a tool less desing to field strip in fact i think i saw a video where some sort of propriatary wrench was needed to field strip it. thanks.

  • We love you man! We got stuck so badly and one of your tips saved oyur night!!! Thx and keep making vids dude!

  • How long is the legal wait to buy a weapon like this? I shoot .22 because it's inexpensive and fun at a range, and I don't have a handgun yet - so this would be an ideal choice.

  • I finally found somebody dumb enough to buy mine from me !! The biggest piece of SHIT I've ever owned. Seriously, hands down, the worst gun I've ever owned.... with that said, this is a good video.

  • was really concidering buying one of these, but opted not to b/c of the reviews that complained about the 1 yr warranty and the slide wearing out after a few thousand rounds?

    Great video.

  • Hello. I put about 500 rnds through my brand new P22 yesterday and went to strip it, but the lever is (like you said) really tight. I been messing with it for a whlie. I think part of it is that I don't have really strong hands and I had the same kind of trouble with my XD when I first got it and now it's perfect. Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

Thank you for posting this great tutorial.

For that tricky springy assembly part.....

Search for the video "Walther P22 Issues and Problems".

This guy sure has some problems, but also a really nice technique for the spring assembly part. Maybe that works for you as well..

Perhaps you have in turn an idea on his problems as well, who knows..

    So long... :-)

  • vary good vid,the guy next door has 1 and its really cool !!!

  • Love the vid. it really explains things well. I'll be getting one (hopefully this weekend) It sounds like a great little gun. Any advise? by the way love the "God Bless America" Haha you can never have enough guns!

  • thats the coolest little thing ive seen

  • I want this gun soo badly, it's so "cute" nohomo ._.

  • GREAT VIDEO! i have an 11 year old son and i have been teaching him to shoot and the proper handling of firearms i have been thinking of picking up a walther p22 for plinking and for him to practice when i take him to the range with me. he limpwrist my glock 19 and cant handle the recoil of my 1911 do you think this would be a practicle handgun for this purpose? i would appreciate eny feedback thanks.

  • @elmajiko420 Yes, this is an excellant training pistol. It is very ergonomic. It will fit your son's hands very well. Good Luck & Be Safe! John

  • nice vid man o.o u just fully convinced me to get it XD the walther p22 is going to be my 1st gun besides a .50 muzzleloader that i got rid of cuase i was to scared to shoot it XD this is the best vid ive seen for this gun :D and i didnt know about the acctualy threads that it has XD this will be great for hunting squirels *skeptic look* XD

  • This is by far the best video review ive seen here of walther p 22.

    Congrats

  • Great demonstration. Beautiful little pistol, cannot wait to move out of England, I can then own some real firearms rather than just air rifles =)

  • @AreYouFromThisPlanet You do know you could own this gun here? If its a rimfire.

  • @eldiablo9604

I'm not arguing here, because I really have little knowledge of firearms laws in the uk, but I thought the only firearms you are allowed pistol-wise are blackpowder guns, vintage pistols and historic pistols?

  • @AreYouFromThisPlanet No, I believe you are also allowed rimfire. In which case would be a .22 So your in look if your still wanting one.

  • @eldiablo9604

I'm definitely going to consider looking into that. Thanks for informing me.

  • ARE these SA/DA?

  • Informative, Thanks.

  • I bought one of these guns off a buddy of mine, and the strange thing was the damn safety was reversed, I thought it was fucked up. And than I put the safety on and it shot. I could have killed myself!! But after I learnt that I liked it. I shot it everyday. My neighbors bitched at my dad.

  • is it ok to mod the barrel?

  • @xxrobloxiaxx Not centerfire! :)

  • Love my walther P22!!! best 22 hand gun ever!!

  • mine has a nickel plated slide ..It's a really beatiful pistol

  • hehe should i use this as my CCHL? :D

  • Thanks for the vid! It helped me decide to buy a P22 and will make the first disassembly and cleaning much easier. Keep up the good work.

  • how about walmart federal ammo?

  • thanks alot i spent almost 30 minutes messing with my stupid spring then i had it shoot the spring across the room. This is my 8th handgun and the only one i have ever had trouble putting back together. i about threw the damn thing across the room. My walther did not come with a dowel. Thanks again great video

  • i wonder if there is RFID technology installed on polymer stocks and equipment used by survivalist and prepers? someone mentioned this unlikely possibility in one of the forums i visit, i just cant see this as true, but in the remote possibility it's true deactivating the technology could be life saving.

  • excellent! thx!

  • very well done, bravo...

  • I love my p-22. I have the Gemtech Outback suppressor on mine. My friends and I just love shooting it.

  • Thanks for another quality vid. I have a friend who is selling me his P-22 (only has 50 rounds through it) I will get it this week once he digs it out of his storage unit.

  • @one54cm Thanks, You'll love it. Have fun~

  • @sootch00 theres a channel on here named BritneyAlberico that ripped off this video and posted it as his own, trying to scam people into taking his surveys

  • Hi, toward the end of the video, after u reset the trigger, when u pulled the slide back and it locked in the backward position. U said sumthin about the mag being in and did sumthin causing the slide to return to a "ready to fire" position. What did u do? When cocking this gun, do u have to push the button on the side of the slide or should it return automatically?

  • Thank you.. my buddy almost nailed me in the eye with his guide rod like 4 times before he saw this video lol

  • i got to tell you man, this video was alot of help. i dont think i wouldve been able to figure it out with the instructions. hah thanks.

  • good vied

  • i jest got one for around $270.haven't shot it yet

  • love this gun have the nickel plated slide

  • Great video! thanks!

  • Thanks... I would of never figured it out... this was my first breakdown of the gun.... You made it very easy..... Many thanks...

  • sootch - Great video as usual! I am looking at getting one of these pistols so this will come in very handy!

  • awesome video. Extremely helpful and thankyou. I have a couple questions what do you clean the rifle with and where do you lube on the firearm?

  • really nice, correct and to the point review! thnx 4 that. thinking about getting me one of these, they look cool and fun to shoot. grtz

  • VERY good video! I've heard a few mixed reviews on this gun, one guy who made it seem like total crap, but other reviews on this gun are very good, and I'm pretty set on having a Walther P22 be my first handgun. This cleaning guide is very helpful, and I'll be sure to refer back to it. :3

  • Just keep it fairly clean and shoot good ammo. I had a little trouble at first but now it shoots like a champ. Wouldn't get rid of it for nothing! Thanks~

  • alright, thanks! So what ammo do you recommend? i heard a lot of people recommending CCI or mini mags, or is ammo preference just based on each gun?

  • Yes, CCI all the way. Both Mini-mags and Stingers. Highest velocity on the market. I use Winchester and Remington as well but prefer CCI.

  • Yes, each .22 is different. You have to find the ammo that it cycles reliably and shoots accurately.

  • just bought this gun, pickin it up tomorrow.

  • is it possible to get a barrel for the p22 without having a firearms license? or do they check it?

  • There are no Federal restrictions to purchase a barrel. Typically the place you order from will list any states that have restrictions. The receiver is the part that is considered a firearm. Good luck~

  • Job well done! Great Demonstration. This is very direct and simple. Very Helpful. Highly recommend this pistol! Buy it!

  • excellent - thx for ending HOURS of frustration trying to get than darn slide release down!

  • when you say drop it drop (the slide) i had to push mine down to get it to slide in. thanks for this video the manual is shit it !!!!!

  • Thank you!

  • ya me too i looked up this video to clean my gun and it helped alot so thanks for showing me how to field strip it.

  • Just watched this video again,, and yep it helped alot to clean my brand new Walther P22 , i am keeping this video in my Favorites.. Thanx again bro!

  • Awesome video!!

  • hey man, im 13 , getting my first .22 im really happy. ive decided i want this pistol. i want to get the nickel slide because i think it looks snazyer and ive heard it jams less because its a bit slicker, what do you think? please reply

  • I think taht's a great pistol to start with~ My 11 year old son is dying to get one too. The nickel slide is smoother and seems to function better. Using Hi-velocity ammo like CCI Min-Mags and Stingers also improves reliability. You will not regret this pistol. Thanks~

  • my dad says i have to get a .22 for my first gun even tho I've shot a .40 before but Im leaning toward this gun.

  • He's right. A good 22lr will teach you how to shoot and the ammo is very cheap compared to 40s&w. Dad's know what they're talking about :)

  • you say god bless america, then in the middle eastern music starts playing.

  • That's what makes it so funny :) An American is playing the music if they counts.

  • She's hot!!! I think i've seen that girl before on Legitescorts . com

Correct me if im wrong here guys

  • hi sootch nice review and excellent gun but i have one question, is the frame made out of aluminum ?

  • Hey Slic, The frame is polymer. Very durable little pistol. Thanks

  • I have subscribed.

your reviews are great my friend

  • It's a scaled down version of the P99, 9mm. One of the most interesting pistols on the market. You know Carl Walther would love this firearm. It's accurate and very inexpensive to shoot. You're right about some feed and blowback issues depending on the rounds used. The CCI's are a good choice, or any super-high quality ammo should do the trick. A fine weapon and another fine video Don! Smith and Wesson is involved with these pistols as well as other Walther designs. A great joint venture.

  • I just bought this little handgun. And I loved it. IT fits my hand perfectly. And since I am just learning to shoot it was no worse then me. I love it

  • the ruger is more accurate. This little 22 is harder to shoot accurately but it's more fun to play with.

  • Really nice gun, I'm getting one for my wife, the ammo is more cost affective, then the 9mm or 45's great video, and presentation!!!!!!!!! 10 Starr

  • great vid, Thanks!

  • The MK III is probably more accurate.

  • The Ruger Mk series is very accurate. I love my Ruger MKII with the 5-1/2" bull barrrel.

  • I love having 22lr pistol. I have a Sig Mosqito which is the Sig equivalent more or less. I wish it could hold more than 10 rounds and the magazines for these guns are pricey but I guess its hard to compete with Glocks volume. A couple hundred rounds at the range only costs a fraction of other ammo and the recoil is light enough for anyone to shoot.

    Good video.

  • Great video! This is the gun my husband got for me. Your demonstration was very helpful.

  • I've been thinking about getting a Walther P99 (also comes in .40 cal) next year. Anybody have one of these?

  • never owened a walther... kinda diferent!

  • sexy!

  • Thanks for this! I was actually doing some research on these pistols so your vid helped a lot. I like the semi-fixed barrel, are all the new Walthers like that?

  • Another great video, Don....Thanks.

  • Great detail Don you make it look easy! This is one of my favorite guns to shoot.I haven't had an ammo problem with mine.I know a lot of people have.Thanks.

  • mine comes with a fixed barrel :(

  • GREAT VID!

Have never owned one of these but have shot them and they are nice guns! Thanks for the post!

  • In Countries, like Australia, Canada, Finland, Netherlands, the original 3.4 inch short barrel causes the P22 to be classified as a concealable firearm, making the 5 inch target barrel the only available option for normal recreational shooters.

Geat video Sooch! Wish I lived with you as it would be fun to learn. I could use one of them guns!!

My son still has his original Megatron that bacame a Walther P38 a 9 mm pistol. Of Transformer Fame....LOL!

  • very nice. these are banned in Canada cause the short barrel which sucks : ( you can still get the one with the attached target barrel.
