  • but nyway, thanks a lot for sharing your videos.

  • the dresses worn by the women around 1.20 mark are definitely not tibetan! it's sad to see the chinaization of tibet.

  • Nice video......BUT....Kham boys of China's wild west ???????? They are Khampas from Eastern Tibet !!!!!!

  • Yes they are but really...that's how they are referred to out there. I wish I was clever enough to come up with any phrases...

  • 3:24 "they're known as china's wild west"??

  • Oh my word, I was at this festival!! All my videos were taken from the other side of the circle- so this is a nice new angle :)

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • How very funny and it is indeed a small world!

  • i feel like all the Tibetan songs here are made to sound like Chinese at 1:25 what are they wearing .that is not a Tibetan dress ,, i know because i ve seen what the real dress is suppos to look like.

  • Some of the dress may not be the majority is because we saw people in local villages dressed like this. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

  • How do those women who are signing hit such high notes? Hahah! I always wonder what they are saying in such high voices. Thanks for sharing Sheila!

  • Oh shoot...I think my last comment didn't get posted. I just wanted to say thanks for posting and maybe I will visit Yushu some day after having seen these videos. From Wikipedia, it looks like Yushu is basically 100% Tibetan. What do you know about Han/Tibetan relationships in the city? How proficient are the Tibetans in Chinese? I think your guides were Tibetan, correct? I will keep an eye on your website, perhaps you will address some of these questions there.

  • Yushu was Tibetan and I didn't see any problems between them and the Chinese at all. Of course, who knows. Our guide was Tibetan from Labrang (I have videos from two years ago posted on this channel in Labrang) and spoke Amdo Tibetan and Chinese. If you want a job in the tourist industry and/or really want to get ahead in China, Tibetans all learn Chinese. Mr. Wang, the driver, is Chinese. Watch the website and, yes, eventually I give all the details. Again, thanks for watching.
