I'm a volunteer firefighter for corinth holders north carolina and i cant imagine any thing else i would rather do... great video keep it up

  • I'm still in high-school. I'm a ff and SO many kids make fun of me bcuz of it. They won't 1 day when they need us.. stay safe everybody!

  • I am a Jr Fire Fighter in NC and can't wait to get to go on calls and help people, also looking forward to this line of work as a career! RIP 343, thank you all fire fighters, EMS and police.

  • I'm trying to become a fireman, but I have Bipolar Disorder and take medication. I passed the written exam and CPAT. Now, I need to take the psychological exam and interview with a psychologist. I'm worried that I will fail because of my disorder. It's unfair that people with non-severe mental illnesses are looked down upon when they try to engage in such a career, as if we were incapable. I will do what ever it takes to pass that exam and prove people wrong.

    Any advice would be helpful.

  • I'm doing a speech on a firefighters charity tomorrow, the poem at the start is so perfect.

  • this video is awesome i am a ff for 4 fire companys

  • I'm a FF in Oregon god bless all of our fallen brothers never forget 343,

  • Many of my Brothers & Sisters put The Gear on 10 yrs ago to fight HELL ON EARTH! 343 didn't make it back to the station. SALUTE ! GOD REST!

  • Brave men and women all.

Not sure about the invoking God bit at the start though.

Are you suggesting God starts these fire to test fire fighters?

Or is it that when it is said God is all powerful, God is, but not powerful enough to stop a fire or prevent a fire from starting. Or is every person who dies in a fire guilty of something that means God must take their life including babies and children. Or is the MOST likely truth that God just does not exist?

  • @litesp33d you are aware that that is the firemans prayer right? basically asking god to watch over all we do when we get tones for a call and to protect everyone involved even the victims and if something does happen to one of us to watch over our families

  • They Are Heroes Who Act During Life's Darkest Moments. Sometimes Unseen... Warriors, Protectors, Guardian Angels.

  • People do not understand that Volunteer Departments are just that. That we get nothing for our effort and time. I was driving the rig on a donation drive when I stopped at very expensive house and the owner gave me a quarter and said buy yourself a coffee. A week later on a turnout I was the lead pumper to the same house. We were rolling in 3 minutes and made the fire stop in 10 minutes. I walked over to the owner and gave him his quarter back and said we are Volunteers.

  • @OriginalGrumpyBear74 I total agree with you on that nice job.....

  • @OriginalGrumpyBear74 right on brother i respect that. i can't believe he gave you a quarter. That's almost like an insult. Oh well i bet you taught him a big life lesson in what you did.

  • Volunteer Fire Fighter for East Campbell New York. My Husband is a E.M.T and 1st Asst. Chief and I pray that when we get called out that us and Our Friends in our Fie Dept. and the ones that Respond to Mutual aids with us or to the other Fire Depts in our area go to the call and come home from the call to thier familys. God Bless for us that do this very scarey job. Volunteer or Paid we are all Brothers and Sisters. Doesn't matter where we are from or what Dept.

  • i am a firefighter and some credit is needed to the volunteers we risk our lives for nothing and we almost never get awards thank you.

  • Im a firefighter in Geneva NY and the video of the trucks leaving the station in the beginning is our firehouse, where did you get that video?

  • vollys are overlooked and dont get the credit they deserve

  • @timberland1108 FIre dont discriminate, paid or volunteer.. we all do the same job... some people will just never understand that...

  • @timberland1108 .... agrees... VOLUNTEER or PAID we are all the same... except they respond from the station on a regular basis and we respond from our homes or full time jobs leaving our families in a blink of the eye while eating dinner or putting our kids to bed.... no matter what we all BUST ours.. to SAVE theres...

  • @hammonddii very true and if you give paid firefighter a chance and they see that you are a dedicated volunteer they will support you 100 percent.

  • @timberland1108 That is because so many do it for glory and fun, not as a job without pay. Humility would go a long way for many volunteer firefighters. So many quit due to there being a lack of fun . "Fun" means fires to them.

  • @edolder very true. When there is no "fun" they dont want anything to do with firefighting. In the meantime its me and you who wake up at 3 am for an automatic fire alarm, lol

  • @timberland1108 NOW before i say this I'm not putting Paid Firefighter's and Volunteers on different levels, they are BOTH 100% EQUAL... HOWEVER

It's like one of my superior officers said at my Department "When i need someone to be there I'll take a Volunteer over Paid any day.. Why? Because I KNOW for a FACT that they WANT to be there"

(Because some "very few" Paid FF's are just doing it for a living, but most love it.)

Anyhow, I'm currently a Volunteer Fire Fighter, and i want to go Paid.

  • Noa5a4fff6a5f there is a way to get on with a department just ask about an explorer program thats how i started and your in the right age to do that.

  • Great Video. I want to be a firefighter. I'm fifteen right now. I was in a house fire. Ever since I was a kid I have wanted to save people and make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. I have lots of respect for the firefighters today in America and the fallen ones. R.I.P for all of the fallen. You will be missed

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! I am a volunteer Fire Fighter in Pennsylvania...

  • Great video. Thanks for all you do brother firefighter. I fight fire down here in Ga. I love every min. of it.

Be safe up there protect you and yours.

  • IM A FIREFIGHTER AND I LOVE IT!!!!! BEST JOB IN THE WORLD. I CANT IMAGINE DOING ANYTHING ELSE BUT THIS

  • Volunteer Fire Rescue / EMT "We Bust OURS .....So We Can Save YOURS!"

  • @tantrum42069 there is now volunteer, you are a firefighter or not, all are one in the same, just remember that. volunteers are firefighters no matter what.

  • those of us who volunteer do this job bc we love it and want to do it not for a paycheck

  • i just about jumped up out of my seat at the begining because i thought it was my pager going off. and then i realized it was just the video. great video, and i pray for every firefighter, emt/medic, officer, and millitary memeber who serves this great country. take care my brothers and sisters.

  • Thanks for the Video! Great job !

  • How do I become a volunteer fireman? How old? and what do they do?

    Thanks

  • @sirchristian12 Well you need to go through the training just like the Full Time Firefighters do you need to be 18 and they do everything Full Time Firefighters do just they don't get paid.

  • i was only 14 when i joined

  • @sirchristian12

The difference between Volunteer firefighters and career firefighters is that the Volunteers don't spend the rest of their time sitting around the station. -13 yr volunteer, 16 year career

  • @sirchristian12 well go to ur local fire company u have to be at least 14 well in pa thats what it is to start as a jr firefighter. tell them u want to join fill out an app and you have to sign for a background check thats what my companie does then u have to be voted in. its takes a month to be voted in at the montly meeting. like i said thats what my company does. idk about others

  • this cool i am a cadet at molalla OR. fire department and thank you

  • this cool i am a cadet at molalla OR. fire department and is

  • @BBradshawProductions r u sure its because of that they might have not hade water or they could have hade guys inside your just quick to pass judgement i would like to see you do what we do day after day we risk our life to save people like you who complain about firefighters and its sad because you are going to need us one day and when we do save you then you will be sindging a different song

  • I made a video once and youtube said I infringed on copyright. How did you use this soundtrack with your own picts???

  • 48alfaone: You mother fucker. go die in a goddamn hole. We just had 2 firefighters put in the hospital this week. I have not yet been injured but i pray the firefighters prayer every day. your a fucking paramedic. shut the hell up and go bitch elsewhere.

  • @billymill92 Grow up kid, work hard & work smart, and maybe one day you will become one of us! If you would have read all my comments you would have seen i was a full-time Firefighter / Engine Captain / ALS Paramedic for 30 years! Sorry to hear two Brothers were hurt if that was true, hope they are getting well. Instead of praying learn how to work safe if you get on the job for real one day! Rants like yours shows your a want-a-be! Good luck, haha!

  • Sounds like 48alfaone could be a firemen so he is just a little pissy! lol

  • @emtmanjc Read all my comments here first kid before you speak! I was a full-time Firefighter / Engine Captain / ALS Paramedic for 30 years! That gives me the complete right to free speech here, like it or not! How many years have you done, and don't lie like most guys here? None? Be a man!

  • 18 years ago today I survived a fire truck roll over but loss two fire service brothers. They will be forever be on my mind

  • hey 48 alfaone sounds like you are a little bitter, you seem to be looking at the video too. Did you run out of EMS videos?

  • kick ass vid keep it up

  • I have been a victim-in intense pain and scared to death in the back of an ambulance and in an air-care helicopter-those who responded to my accident were awesome-very knowledgeable and professional-but also very kind...and even loving. thank you for the jobs you all do every day-the aid you give and the love you show. You,,whoever and where ever you are firefighters and EMS...YOU ROCK!!!

  • LOVE IT CRYING

  • 48alfaone. your a shitty person and im glad you dont work in this profession anymore. hope all your 30 yrs your werent a doush. maybe you should come out of retirment and become a construction worker so we wont need to listen to you, have a nice day. FF/Paramedic 28,001 calls

  • @wheelnbronco O cry me a river kid, boo hoo, get a real job, haha!

  • i miss my minitor 2 :(

  • Ya as true as that stat is Id say it takes balls to go into a burning building to look for someone and give them their last shot at life...As they say, "We go in when everyone else is gettin the fuck out"

  • Theres me in 5 years and Dylan ovitt.

  • I always get chills when I hear this song...of course there's the great message about firefighters who risk their lives every day but Bruce Hornsby simply puts his heart and soul into everything he does. Great, great song

  • in my opinio there is no better feeling in the world than rushing to the station whipping your gear on getting on the truck and hearing the sirens go

  • Brother, if i hurt yours or anyone's feelings here i apologize! From the heart. We few have the best job, the best brotherhood & the best teamwork on the planet! And that's no Bullshit! We also have our own Opinion's. Good luck & Peace, i hope you make full-time one day.

  • @48alfaone

My buddy is a fireman and tells me of the comeraderie. He can go into any firehouse in the world, and has done so on vacation, to ask directions or whatever. From the USA, to Greece to Thailand, he has always been welcomed with smiles and handshakes by his fellow firefighters.

  • I will admit, Volunteer's don't get enough thanks, but more important, where's everyone when we in the union talk about getting them real pay! How about from a Federal Fund! I would much rather see guys get paid real money, plus see a shit load more full-timers & gear than a pat on the back! You call me a Diss'er my Brother, how often have you tried to get real pay & benefits for Volunteer Brothers. I am retired & still go to union meetings! Continued...

  • When a Brother goes down in the line its very tragic, i know i have carried them out more than once! But, it is also tragic seeing joe public die before their time, sometimes 2 or 3 in a tour. Or doing some shitty job! One thing i have noticed is that young men seem to need this hero thing more than others, why is that i wonder? Maybe they don't know how f--king lucky they are getting on with a department, maybe it takes years to see just how lucky we are doing this job? Continued...

  • We never went around calling each other Hero. Doing a "True Rescue or True Save" was enough for us, its an amazing high, the best drug on earth! Those few of us who get on full-time are very lucky, thousands want in & never make it! I made good money, benefits & pension doing the best job on earth, not many guys or girls can say that. I belong to a "True Brotherhood & Team", not many can say that. Plus danger, come on, its only dangerous about 4% of the time. Continued...

  • OK Gang. Here goes. But, its hard for me to say! "From the Heart": Dear Sir, thank you for making this truly fine tribute for all my Brothers, Sisters & Myself. I was on the job for 30 plus years. I am retired now and i miss it everyday.

    I was a full-time Firefighter & EMT 9 years,

    then a full-time Firefighter / Engine Captain & Paramedic 14 years,

then a f--king back injury at a fire, i was off six months,

then a full-time Advanced Life Support Paramedic, 7 years.

    Thanks Again!

  • ok you look here, granted we don't have a high enought casualty rate for your liking but we take time out of our day to respond to anty call and if you have a problem with it then keep quiet. Some people appreate what we do oovesly you don't but who cares what you think, your views will change if you need us.

  • @xwchades I think your rant was meant for me son? You said: "your views will change if you need us". What you don't realize here is this: "I can comment on Firefighting Videos because i was on the job full time for 30 years"! Firefighter-EMT, then a Firefighter Engine Captain / Paramedic, then a ALS Paramedic. So when you say "us", you mean Me. I believe every Firefighter is entitled to their own opinion? Relax, don't get so offended when a Brother has a different Opinion.

  • @48alfaone My apologies. My Youtube account must have been left signed in. One of my 'friends' is a volunteer firefighter in some hick town that gets 3 or 4 calls a month. That would have been him that commented. Apparently he thinks he's some sort of hero for putting out grass fires. Lol, again, my apologies.

  • god bless to all firefighters

  • Awesome tribute man. Im a firefighter in South Carolina and i watch this and makes me think of the deication and heart that it takes for you and i and all our brothers and sisters to do the job we do. Stay safe and God bless you.

  • EMT Paramedic Here!! Thanks for all of those in EMS and FIRE who give it all with little or no thanks!!

  • thank u so much for this tribute ive been a firefighter for 5 months now and i love every moment of it i finally fought my first house fire with my budy i will never forget that day

  • NAZI PRICKKK!

  • Comment removed

  • OK Boys & Girls, Come On! These Hero / Public Please Worship Me videos & songs are a Bit Much! Ya the job can be very dangerous sometimes, but so are a lot of other jobs that plain old people do everyday to feed their families! You know, More construction workers are killed each month, than all the police, fire & medics are in a whole year, Government Stat's! Like any dangerous job you sign up for, you work safe but sometimes shit happens. Retired ALS Paramedic, 28,000 Calls, did 30 years.

  • @48alfaone why bother looking up firefighting videos then? this video is mostly intended for people who actually show gratitude to firefighters....not find something wrong with the job they do everyday. go make yur own video on how firefighters are overrated if that will make you feel better

  • @BU1B22 OK, sorry if i hurt your feelings! I was not looking up these videos when i came across this one and some others. I was on the job for 30 years working a busy intercity station, so after about 28,000 runs i know what the job is from the inside looking out at the public! Are we vital, yes. Do we need all this worship, no. My point was, many of these videos make it sound like on every call were going to be killed. Many jobs are dangerous. When you sign on you know this. See Next post:

  • @48alfaone From Other Post: Its the guys who focus on all the hero stuff that don't fit into a crew really. Newbies get tossed for this stuff. Like many jobs where you work as a crew, you focus on the job, each other, and not what everyone else thinks. Also on our job we see a lot of hard working guys doing other dangerous jobs go down (like construction or linemen). Where is their flag draped coffin? Its a great job, only a lucky few get to do it, so that should be enough. Peace!

  • @48alfaone

    I'll excuse your ignorance.

I take in this video as showing us how damn under-appreciated and under-payed these men and woman are. I drive a forklift for a living and i make a tad under what the average firefighter makes. Lebron James makes more playing one basketball game then half a department makes in a year.

    Something wrong with that.
