And I do not say "I dislike Star Trek" just because. I genuinely found the movie stupid, unengaging and boring. It's not real Star Trek, but trying hard to be Star Trek. It has no heart, even worse than Nemesis. I think Star Trek lost it's heart when Gene died.
Probably why they never did do another one. For the time, it was just what Star Wars craved kids wanted. With the hindsight of the prelogy of Star Wars movies, I think The Last Starfighter is better. It's funny, (they added more scenes of the thing that replaced the guy on earth, because test audiences loved it, and I did too as a kid). Haven't seen the movie in many years, but it was nerd heaven in the 80s.
@Ebb1993isgreat I loved this line as a kid. It's still funny as hell. But to have Zur die? Nope, you always have to have a way to produce a Last Starfighter 2, even though the title itself is such an oxymoron that even a moron can notice the oxymoron in it.
@Ebb1993isgreat I'd love to see a sequel, but a remake would be completely awful. I'm up to the top of my head with remake movies. They are usually just boring, because you know the story, but they try to twist it to be "interesting." Like Star Trek. Yeah, everybody loves Star Trek. Not me. Annoying piece of shit. Badly shot, plothole morass.
for a few weeks we kept talking about this scene and so finally i just looked it up but i just wanted to see this part not the whole movie and now i get why its so funny
Krill was a professional soldier fighting for the values of his culture. Sure those values suck ass in our eyes but in his they are worth dying for. Oh and the monocle thingy was a interface for the ships battle computer.
This is awesome because you have respect for him... I might even think that he wasn't even "evil" he was committed to his cause... and this line indicates that he was pursuing it honorably.
@TheTallMan35 You're right, Neil Armstrong didn't walk on the moon or anything, he just floated off into space... Everything with mass has a gravitational pull bro.
@Ropponmatsu2 If it could be done well - with the same levels of awesome and satire and acting and OVER 9000 MORE SPECIAL EFFECTS than the original - a reboot of this movie would rock faces.
haahha had to say this line playing paint-ball surrounded had no paint balls left someone said "what do we do" just had to say it then we all charged out and met a glorious paintball death
Your Ship is a busted ass wreck, its about to crash into a Moon and your fate is certain, what would you do ?
Cmdr Krill: "I personaly would except my fate and in my last moments look uber cool while my crew cry like little girls, I may even flip on my eye peice and say somthing to show that even in my impending doom that I am still the man"
@losthaze nah no WTF BOOM is not knowing what is going on and all of a sudden BOOM!! Here, He knew WTF was happening and was like Eff it We're just gonna take it in the ass. Honorably.... Word...
Totally hardcore line from ANY movie out there. There is no greater death than to die in battle....with honor. He took it like a man, or whatever thing he was, LOL.
Reminds me of the scene in "Fifth Element" where Zorg is about to get blown up in the hotel and the wounded alien soldier reactivates the bomb that Zorg just deactivated and the soldier says "For the honor". Another cool line :)
i still think the ko'dans are one of those bad guy races that could be up there with the likes of the imperials from star wars, the dominion from star trek
Man, I know the rest of the movie was good, but this is the one thing I remember out of the entire movie. What a total badass to be able to stare down death like that.
A lot of really great lines in this movie, this has to be one of my favorites though.
God, it's so unfair that this movie didn't get a sequel. It had great action, great characters, it was well-written, its score was good...this could have been one hell of a franchise. Pity it wasn't.
this really was a great movie... i think the reason this didnt get the attention it deserved was timing... it was caught in the trail-end of the star wars hoopla....
Thanks for posting this! Someone was asking about my morale as the company I work for augers into an economic moon, and I wanted to reply with this clip. "We die!"
I prefer Grig's line, "Death is a primitive concept; I prefer to think of them as battling evil, in another dimension!" His enthusiasm when he says it kills me every time.
Doesn't it explode more in the film?

And this is why Kril is so badass, I mean, how many other movie villains would ace their own impending deaths with such dignity?
"We're locked into the moon's gravitational pull! WHAT DO WE DO?!"
Palpatine would run for the escape pods, killing anyone who got in his way
Boba Fett would try to look cool, but fail epically and somehow get eaten by a sand vagina
Freddy would say something stupid
uwe boll would cry about how his genius is lost forever
Kril? He'd take it like a man!
