Congrats for casting Hugh Jackman as Frank! Perfect choice ! I mean, Claire is litterally torn between Frank, the mild scolar he married and Black Randal, Jamie's Nemesis, the dark soul who was Frank's anchestor. We should be able to see two men identical in appealing yet quite different in characture. Hugh Jackman is the right choice!
I think a hard cast is Frank/Black Jack. I agree with pippa, Hugh Jackman looks too sweet to play such a sinister character. What about Johnny Depp as that character? Is he tall/large enough? Just a thought.
I liked everyone except Jamie. I think he is almost an impossible one to cast the role for, as he is described in such detail in the book that everyone has a vivd picture of him in their mind and naturally everyones picture will be different so it's a difficult one to cast. But, great job on everyone else!
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! I swear, no one EVER thinks of Henry Ian Cusick for Dougal, but he is such the perfect actor to play him! I mean he even looks the way Dougal is supposed to look! And Gerry for Jamie...duh!
soz but these dont look lyk wat i think they should. i dont think u can randomly pick out people. i soo hope they dont make a movie cuz the cast will look nothing lyk wat they should.
That's totally fair enough. I think a movie could easily destroy the feel of the books. Especially since it's easy to become emotionally involved with the series. Just thought I'd try to get the closest I could to what I would be happy with, if they *were* to do a movie. Some of them in my eyes are perfect choices for the way I envisage the characters, others I'm not entirely happy with, but you have to fill in the gaps haha.
Well, keeping in mind Mrs. Gabaldon herself stated Jamie in her vision is nearest to Liam Neeson I don't see why one couldn't leave it at the writers intention: Neeson for the older Jamie would be the perfect fit. And Ewan McGregor as his jounger self - I could just live with this.
Mr Fraser istn't a puppy-eyed softie or a model-type. He is a sturdy, hard-weathered Scot. Whith a romantic touch, true. But a man in fist place, not a boy. Even in his first appearance.
i think keri would be good for playing young claire...gerard is fine for playing the role of "adult" jamie (from "voyager" on)...question marks are young jamie and claire as we see her on books like Voyager and beyond
OMG!!I totally can see all of your choices as great fits for the characters, except Gellis, I think she is a little more calculating than Michelle Pfifer can come off as Michelle always tend to look like a victim. But I could totally see Keri as Claire.
Oh Butler could do it. They can do incredible things with make up these days making people look older/younger. Butler looks like a baby when he is clean shaven. I never thought of Russell for Claire, but she might work. Who I would like to play Claire is Kate Winslet. Also, I think a made for tv mini series on cable would be much better then a big screen movie for these books. Remember North and South?
amazing!I think overally this is the best casting.I liked all your choices except Claire and Dougal. The actress who will play Claire must have something special..I was particularly surprised by your choice for Jenny(Jenniffer is absolutely perfect) and the Ians. And of course i would LOVE Gerry as Jamie!!!Congrats!
Hey thanks heaps! Glad you enjoyed it. Fair enough about Claire and Dougal... A lot of people go for Rachel Weisz for Claire, but I just saw her as having finer features than that. Hahaha and there can be none other than Gerry!! Cheers :)
I wouldn't be very satisfied by Rachel Weisz either although i love her as an actress. I'll have to contemplate on the casting of Claire.lol She's hard to capture because she's such a unique character. Some people have said that Gerry is too old to be 23y old Jamie. But he could definately be the older Jamie. Now...who would be capable of playing the younger one is still a mystery.
I love your Murtaugh! I think Jeremy Irons would bring something interesting to the role. Also I think your casting of Dougal is REALLY spot on.

i think you made a very good choice for claire and frank but gerald butler is too old for jamie.

I like most of your choices except for Hugh Jackman, he's far too nice to play Frank/Jonathan Randall, I think Jason Isaacs is perfect for this role.

Kudos on cstin Laim Nieson as Colum, he'sperfect for the role. adn Hugh Jackman as Jack/ Frank...Genius! He has the versatility for it!
I just have a hard time seeing Gerard Butler as a 23 year old virgin. Maybe as Jamie when he's older...
ANYWAYS he looks great in a kilt! WHoo Hoo!

I think Claire and Brianna are hard to cast.
Jamie is easy, Gerry Butler.
I would prefer Sophie Marceau as Claire though.....what do you think? I guess Kate Beckinsale is to glamourous...dont know...

I still can't see Hugh Jackman as Frank/Jack...he has too much of a sweet twinkle in his eye. Or maybe I just love Hugh. Jason Isaacs maybe?

I have never seen the actor you cast as Dougal, but that IS Dougal! And Gerry Butler is Jamie. Great job.

Hey, from the moment I saw Henry Ian Cusick he was Dougal, for me. You might have seen him as Desmond on Lost...?
