are the nettles stems edible too? I've harvested nettles this morning but they were huge and not that testy, I'll have to try smaller nettles leaves next time.
Lambs quarters are also easy to identify by the squarish stems similar to mint and oregano and also they have whitish powdery under surface. They grow very well in 5 gallon buckets and you can harvest off them all year round.
While this is a good idea, be prepared to fight legal battles if you are inside any kind of municpal boundaries.
Almost all of these edibles weeds are on the federal and state EPA banned (noxious and invasive weeds) lists and you will get huge fines and possible jail time if you are not careful to fight against it properly.
I've done it several times in the last 12 years here in Ohio.
Better be expecting a quinoa field, i think you shoud've threw the seeds during late autumn, it would be amazing that you can throw away 2 dolors and comback with 500 bucks in the spring back from where you threw 2 dollars
Help! I'm here in El Cajon/San Diego. I planted a banana about 2 years ago. My first harvest is right round the corner or so I think. Everything stopped for the last 2 weeks. I see over 90 bananas. The last 20 or so are about 2 inches long and are yellow. The rest are about 6-7 inches long and green.
Someone said I need to cut down the stock and hang it in my garage to get sweet/ripe. Someone else said just cut off the bottom bulb to promote growth to the rest (6"-7") green bananas. Suggestions
aren't capers pickled nastursium buds? I think they are. I love capers but have never eaten the flowers. I'm going to have to plant some of those this weekend. Thanks!
