  • sometimes i hate how people buy really expensive stuff to make it i mean fair dos if your serious like this guy but you can just recycle old trays and old packaging and grow this wheat grass in there

  • where is your website?

  • in the video you say 1 pound in a quart jar. How much seed would go into the half gallon jar that you are showing in the video?

  • roger, how old are you?as you say it is the nectar of rejuvenation.

  • Thank you very much Roger about this information.

  • If mold grow at the bottom does the whole batch have to be thrown out and redone?

  • hello,

if u would be so kinda here r some questions

when u say "sphagnum" can u be a bit more specific? u mean sphagnum moss? just a reference to a site is enough

i have a hard time growing things, as i either water them too much or too little, can u also me a bit more specific on the watering (during the "night time" and the uncovered period)

lastly, but important, after the initial 12 hours, u say u keep them in a jar, i presume u mean, full of water and uncovered?

    thank u :) Nick

  • Hi,can you help me please? hey wear or from what site i can buy wheatgrass seeds ? Thanks.

  • Sorry , this is miss sp..........

  • Hello, sorry i am bither you, but wear you buy you WGrass? Thanks

  • Those are 1/2 gallon jars, correct?

  • I used to grow indoors until I tested for mold & bacteria. Now I only use dried cereal grass in glass bottles, which is tested, is much greener & grown naturally in cold Kansas winters in its proper climate. It's also a whole food, so my colon gets the chlorophyll-rich roughage that produced the amazing results in the research. Warm indoor conditions & crowded seeds are perfect for growing mold & bacteria, but not for cereal grass. Sprout e.coli that is killing people in Europe is also scary.

  • Great video. Finally, a smart, articulate explanation (which includes details missing from many other videos) on the topic. Going to check your website next.

  • Thank you for this video. I have a question. Do you use special lights in the room for the wheatgrass to grow?

  • This video is so informative. Thank you. You answered a lot of my questions.

  • Keep up the good video work looking good. When you have time come visit my channel!

  • Love the videos, keep up the good work

  • A very helpful video, I'm curious if you have a video on just sprouting, and showing that process for us?

    LearnToGrowWheatgrass . com

  • Also, how long does that ocean solution stuff last? Cause 30 dollars a bottle I want to make sure I'm getting my money worth? Or do you know a place cheaper?

  • What if you dont have sun, can it get green and still grow fast?

  • Can i use hard white wheat if i don't have the hard red wheat?

  • wow this is great information, thanks so much!

  • hi,

this may be a stupid question, but after you grow a flat and cut 7-8 inches off the top to juice, will it re-grow, or do you have to start the process over again?

great setup, great video, great Health!

  • I got an off topic question but since i'm here. Can someone tell me how long wheat takes to go from seed, all the way through its life to seeding? And how much seed would i get per plant? In general.

  • Roger, I am getting ready to build the rack detailed in your video and on your website. I was wondering where you found the catch basin? I'm sure anything would work but I was wondering if you found something that fits the dimensions of the rack the best.

  • what happens if you didnt cut the grass and just let it grow

  • Wow, a wonderful overview of the process. Thanks a lot!

One thing regarding the light - are you using some sort of full-spectrum lighting, by a chance? It doesn't look like much natural light gets in there.

  • @teddy0072 yes, i do use full spectrum lights. there is a small basement type window but you are right, not much outside ligth gets in. the full spectrum lights do a great job!

  • Wear did you buy you seeds for sprouts?

  • Wear did you buy you seeds for sprouts? Thanks.

  • I love it, wear did you live man? Thanks.

  • @2011Queenn Common question...where do I buy my seeds? After buying seed from several different sources and at wide range of prices, I finally found the "source of sources". Tiensvold Farms, Rushville Nebraska, is a family farm that has been certified organic since 1993. Their phone is 308-327-3135, ask for Ila or Mark. Tell them you heard about them form me. WholeFoods also sells bulk wheatgrass seed. I live in the Kansas City area. It sells at WF for around $1.19lb.

  • I wouldn't be without it,it's a miracle to me.I'm glad that I don't have to put a pillow over my mouth when I talk to my boys anymore (lol) and I am 40,but I feel like I'm 16.This stuff is great! I'm trying to get my sons to take it.My youngest is 14 and he said he will only try it with juice.I think water is best, what is your thought?

  • @smellsogoody Some take an ounce or two of apple juice after taking the wheatgrass juice. The apple juice cuts the wheatgrass juice after taste that some cannot stomach!

  • @rogerldavis thank you so much I will try that.

  • @Americant47 You are incredible, thanks again.I have to say this,it's kind of embarrassing, but I had bad breath, acne etc...It was so bad my son almost threw up.I started drinking Organic wheatgrass, but it didn't agree with my stomach so I switched to barley. Now,my face doesn't have all those nasty black heads on the side of my cheek and my sons don't frown anymore when I talk.I've also stopped using fluoride/sls toothpaste.I use tooth powder or toothpaste and deodorant without toxic ingredients

  • Please recommend high quality, affordable seed source

  • @Americant47 thanks for all the info.I actually buy the powder online and mix it with some water or juice. It has helped me out so well I almost want to cry.I can't believe the results I'm seeing.

  • Thank you so much. I am going to give it another try using your methods.

  • im having a tough time finding affordable seed. I tried my local feedmills but they are out for the season, every other place cost around $40 in shipping for 50 lbs of seed

  • I have stocked up on wheatgrass juice and barley grass juice .This stuff is great!

  • ARE THOSE NATURAL OR TRANSGENIC?

  • very helpful, thank you very much. i just wanted to know, is it necessary to place them in the dark for those first few days on the shelf? what happens if they are in the light? does it have a negative effect?

    cheers

  • very helpfull video thank you, just started growing and dont want to make mistakes

  • ty so much

  • for being 90 years old you look GREAT!! thanks for the post

  • For how long they need to be exposed to the sun? I have it onn sunlight right now and a fan hitting on it.. How many times i should water it a day?

    Thanks

  • Many thanks, Roger, for an excellent video. Very much appreciate your spirit of sharing.

Here's to health for everyone who's interested!

  • once you let the seeds in water for 12 hours and drain it,,,,do you let it set WITH OR WITHOUT water.. simple detail that it is always left out of every single explanation.

  • @NeoArawak

Based on a careful viewing of this video, plus some personal experience with sprouting, I believe the instructions are to SOAK for 12 hrs., then RINSE repeatedly (i.e., flood with water then drain). So the wheat berries are first SOAKED, then kept DAMP. Roger says he rinses about 4 or 5 times in the course of a day and a half, that is, he rinses every 6 to 8 hours. I use quart Mason jars and I cut circles of screen to fit within the lid rings. Water pours out; wheat stays in.

  • @NeoArawak without water definitely. only first 12 hours are soaked. hows ur growing going?

  • ok do you let it set with water or without water to sprout??? very important piece of information that no one can clarify

  • Very helpful!! Thanks!!

  • Great video thanks!

  • Great video please feed me more!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks! Can't wait to get to the juice part! :-) I think one shoud use gloves when touching the dirt though, all kinds of parasites can be in soil.

  • Oh My God! Are you admitting publicly that you're growing GRASS? Is this a sativa or indica? The amount you're growing is well above the legal allowance for personal consumption and I'll be forced to report you.

  • @cliffcox66 to simply call indica or sativa "grass" is an insult to mj. mj is so much more complex and beautiful than "grass"

  • Where you get the planting trays

  • If not able to use a green house, say you live in a apartment, will window light be enough? New issue or not: I get fairly cold Winter's here. So next to that window, it may become cold, even with heat on, I noticed your fans...what is the temperature you keep? Thanks!

  • good stuff

  • Great Video. Where to do you purchase your seed from?

  • Great video. Were do you buy your seed from?

  • hi how can i find 5 gal of seeds like you have what would be the cost do they shipt

  • Thanks for sharing. You are a great advert for this. You look really well :-)

  • Cool info and thanks for sharing this. I am looking at maybe going soiless in growing the wheatgrass. What do you think of this way of growing it, providing one has the proper nutrients etc.

  • Roger where did you buy those 17x17 trays. Thanks.

  • I found some at a local store in Washington State USA. Marlene's Market, Certified Organic Red Winter Wheat (the best kind). The BEST PRICE too, 0.95 cents a pound!!! THANK YOU rogerldavis FOR YOUR VIDEO! My wheatgrass is looken good!

  • nice setup

  • Thanks for the video. I am new to wheatgrass, and have never sprouted anything yet. Love your set-up, may consider trying it in the future. In the meantime I will continue purchasing it already sprouted. Thanks again.

  • Good vid and are they ever sweet. I was very surprised when I first tried them. ✭✭✭✭✭

  • thank you

  • Wow! You are an expert wheatgrass grower. i grow a little bit with my plant light.

  • Great video! Where did you buy your planting trays and wheatgrass seeds? The cheapest place I can find wheatgrass seeds is on ebay 10 lbs for 23 bux.

    Thank you

  • I already got more information watching the first few minutes on this video then any other 'growing wheatgrass' video ive seen, thanks, very well done.

  • Hey Roger, nice little basement greenhouse you've got going there.

I'm curious though, do you know what type of lighting is required for growing wheat grass? I noticed you have a few florescent shop lights hanging from the ceiling there. What's the wattage / lumen rating on those things?

    Thanks.

  • I have been growing wheatgrass, love it and could drink it all day long but have one problem. FRUIT FLY, they seem to love wheatgrass too and I've had an infestation of them.

Anyone else have this problem or know how I get rid of them?

  • great video... I wonder how you produce your own seeds so you don't have to keep buying them. Anyone?

  • can we drink the ocean solution instead?

  • Oh ... Where is the best place to buy seed from?

  • Great video. I have been looking at a lot of sprouting videos and intuitively I knew to add minerals to my sprout soaking water just like a good farmer would need to add minerals to his soil. You are the ONLY one who mentioned this part, so I got confirmation. Thanks.

  • LOVE THIS!!!! CANT WAIT TO TRY MY OWN

  • I was looking for a better video to demonstrate how sprouts can be used by people in 'preparedness' or survival type situations, and stumbled upon your video, excellent, thank you!

If you have the interest, could you do another on basic sprouting of various seeds? Beans, flax, rice, etc.?

  • Great video! I have never tried it, but hope to soon!

  • wheat

  • Hi. Thanks for the very informative video. I have a couple of questions though. after the seeds sprout, and you rinse, are the sprouts still soaking in water? Also, when you spread the sprouts on top of the soil mixture, are the sprouts on top of each other in layers? Thanks, Hank

  • Thank you for sharing your video. I don't have a wheatgrass juicer yet nor a high power blender. Blending the wheatgrass with a cup of water and then placing it in a nut milk bag to squeeze out the juice is what I've seen on You Tube. Can we get enough nutrients from this method in your opinion or is the WG powder the way to go until I can get a juicer? Interested in your comments. Thanks again for being such a great teacher..

  • @MsKibznBitz my hurricane wheat grass juicer really works well for $100

  • Thank you for showing this

  • I've been using volcanic ash that is appently full of minerals and seaweed which is supposed to be good for the skin. I've also heard of using worm casting because someone told me they were full of enzymes, has anyone else heard of this?

  • Hi, Nice video. I'm just getting into sprouting and growing wheatgrass. Since the grass is harvested by cutting it above the roots, does it grow back after it's harvested? Or, do you only get one harvest per tray?

Do you ever have mold problems, and, if so, how do you take care of it?

  • It will grow back but is much less nutrient rich after the first harvest. Some people use the second growth for their animals.

Mold is common with wheatgrass; the trick is to keep it to a minimum. Too much water is the biggest culprit. I water moderately heavy the first two days then a light watering in the am from there on out. I do mist at night the first 2/3 days while the seed is covered so it will not dry out overnight. Good air movement will also help reduce mold.

  • @rogerldavis I see wheatgrass gets alot of its nutrients sucking up the soil and minerals , so then what about people who grow wheatgrass and dont use nutrient rich soil or water? Does the wheatgrass get any form of nutrients then?

  • @Ambushcrysis - great point.

  • @muthashipconxon i got rid of molds by sticking a fan next to it....... i use my second and third growth of wheatgrass because i am poor and want to get the most bang for my buck. supposedly its alot less nutrients but i think i still get all that good chlorophyll and enzymes... what u think?
