hey sweet girl......I have use Kiyoseki for about two years now, have no problem but after reading your review and the rest, i think they damaged my hair as i have been cutting it for quiet sometimes. It dry's up. But now, I have the biggest problem ever, it keep on turn off and change the temperature all the time. I never drop it and put it in a box after i used it. Please help, how can I make this iron work as usual. I can't afford to buy a new one. This is a very expensive iron. Please help!!

i think that the annoyances of the kiyoseki outweigh the annoyances of the solia. i have the solia and it has been working perfectly for about a year. u cant by accident turn it off, and it heats up in about 10 seconds

I had my kioseki for a year. and it crapped out within the very first month. It worked semi-okay but then it started frizzing out my hair and not straightening it all the way..i wouldn't recommend it. plus customer service is HORRIBLE.

But it had been stood on before..

She actually cried. Because she loved it that much.

And it's a total difference towards other straighteners.

I really liked this iron when it first came out... now it sucks... I can't get the temp up to where I want it anymore. The numbers just jump around like everyone elses. Kels will see after a lot of use how hers will do the same thing. After the first few hundred uses it DOES get harder to turn on. I am now looking for a new one and for the price I paid for this crap, I could have got a reputable one from folica... ugh. don't buy it!

maybe you should turn the temp down, and make sure youre not accidentally pressing the temp buttons to get hotter..thats one of my biggest issues with it but youll to get used to checking the temp in the mirror and also start with the blue (low) temps first and work your way up**

my kiyoseki worked fine for about a month. then the temperature display was going back and forth between a lot of different numbers. i cut it off then came back to it because i knew it would still be hot enough to finish that last little bit... well my hair is just now growing back in that spot. it was MELTED off. i couldn't get a refund, it was after 30 days. they said i could get another one for just $20 but the don't have proof i paid for the first one. biggest RIP OFF ever.

Im sure it would work for your hair because it heats up to 410 degrees. On one commercial, they flat ironed a black woman's hair and she had a big beautiful natural curly bush :)

But, try researching the Thompson Jade flat iron. My sister uses it (we're mixed with filipino and black - I have more wavy hair, she has a HEAD FULL OF CURLS!)...

she also used it on my cousin who is 100% black, and it made her hair look like she had a fresh perm! lol I think its about $40 and u can buy it from bestclippers

Although my mom is pleased with the iron you have to remember it's from a paid program. There are ALWAYS hidden costs and they will trick you to pay more for stuff that they give you ANYWAY. Take example the black vs silver (both are pro's), paying an extra $14.95 for a 30 day trial when you get a 60 day money back garuentee if you just by the product with one payment of 120 dollars (or 140 depending on which color you get)

I'd recommend this iron, but just don't get snowed under by them. lol..

Actually, the black one is a Pro as well. You're paying for the silver, not because the iron is better. I know cuz my mom called on the phone to a Kiyoseki representative and they told us the black iron does the same thing as the silver does. The silver might be more durable though but the iron does the same thing. Also, we got the 60 day money back garuentee WITHOUT paying any extra money.. we just payed what the price flat out. We did buy the extra warranty.

wen tot the hairdressers last week, they straightened my hair coz its REALLY curly and abit frizzy (ANOYING!) and after an hour after i left, it started flicking and didnt stay straight for long, i hope this one doesnt do it. im glas im not the only 1 =]

I have had my Kyoseki Flat Iron for 8 months and now it's not working. The thermostat stoped working, so the warrenty is a joke because the lifetime warrenty is only good for the flat plates. I paid alot of $ for this flat iron. I loved it when it worked, but now its useless to me. The Company counts on you spending all that money on their product thinking that the Kyoseki will last forever. It is clearly overpriced for the length of time it lasts. I am very disapointed. Donna

i learned that you should ALWAYS read manuals to things like that because once i got a weird alarm clock, and i didn't read the manual, and i by accident set it to like, 2 in the morning

it was TERRIBLE

I would send it back and spend your money at Sallys on a good quality iron that has the same functions and the kyoseki stone plates. It will cost you less and probably last longer. I loved mine until the thermostat died in 8 months, and I only used it 2X a week if that much. They should have tested it and upgraded the parts that go out. Do you think the kiyoseki works so well because it's pretty new? I've heard from a lot of people that have professional flat irons that at first it works wonders but afterwards it doesn't work as well...(which sucks since you pay a lot of money for it). Hah, you're not bad at giving reviews! I loved this. It was so real and very helpful. I saw the informercial last week and was pretty intrigued. I read a lot of the reviews people left on yahoo answers and stuff, and I thought a lot of them were pretty dumb. It's funny how the comments left with bad grammar, and tons of typos are the negative ones, and the eloquent ones are usually positive. I'm glad you like your styler, and it was good to see the curling part. It works so well and fast!

I dont think you should have to pay 140.00 for a freakin flat iron...I paid about 30.00-40.00 for my ceramic iron and it works just fine it does exactly what urs just did if not better..any flat iron that gets that hot is SUPPOSE TO STRAIGHTEN ur hair..its not magic....thats just what heat does.

You iron works for your hair, and thats cool, maybe it wouldnt work so good on mine. I'm not trying to get technical with it, but keep a broad perspective on things before stating your opinion.

And yes, I believe that alot of people do buy stuff just because they see it on here, but no one is putting a gun to their heads telling them to buy it. If they dont like it, send it back. The Kiyoseki has a 30-60 money back guarantee...On a lighter note, thanks for posting you opinion.
