  • oh how i love this song, one of my very favorites. rip hank

  • My God!

I was 10 when Hank Senior died but this song still brings tears to my eyes.

Hank Williams will probably never be equalled when it comes to putting words and music to the innumerable foibles of life!

  • I heard this on one of my grandfathers old hank williams records last week. i havent been able to stop listening to it since then. i love this guy. <3

  • The [2 dislikes] posted above that don't like this wonderfull song must not live in the real world. Every word of this song is real life.

  • RIP Hank Williams Heaven Needs A Great Singer Like U And I Hope Ill See U One Day Hank When i Die And Go To Heaven RIP Hank Williams

  • @WWONE OF THE GREASTEST ;;;ePaulBearerFan

  • Amazing music and wisdom in this great music. Thank you.

  • @coyotestory You know, I've always said that "Luke the Drifter" was instrumental in shaping my character, the good parts anyway. I really have been listening to him since I was 3. It was a simple record player and I'd listen to it and sing along over and over. I might not have understood every word, but I caught the gist of them enough to learn the messages. Even the lesson(s) taught by the upbeat "Everything's Okay!" Schools should add Luke's work to social studies. ;-D

  • Hank Sr. is one of a kind....love his music.

  • @poetlindamae .....Gone but not forgotten

  • @blueberries4ever The sad truth is, there seems to be just as many judgmental ones now as there was then, maybey more so!!!

  • im amazed at how much he sounds like Tex Ritter when he talks

  • @johnrosa800 I disagree. Yippee ki yay.

  • Oh My God, how much truth in this song! !

  • I'd like to dedicate this to Fox Cable News

  • @stewdbaker001 Fox news will accept your dedication on the condition that Hank Williams, Sr. was a republican.

  • This is a great reference to the woman caught in adultery

  • If you go to 106.7 Country Legends you can hear Hank Williams and other great musicians (tho they are not as big as Hank) and plenty of good country songs

  • I do not listen to country music very often, but these are words i wish more people would live by. Wonderful lyrics

  • If you dont like Hank Williams........you can kiss our ASS!

  • Good song, first heard it when I was 5 years old, thanks to dear old dad. Looking back now it makes all the sense in the world to me. Thanks for posting

  • Hank will always be the best.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • That one person must like Justin Bieber -_-

  • This is GREAT, THank you

  • hank recorded this songs just a few day after being fired from the grand ole opry

  • i don;t drink but i hope he save's me a seat to....

  • Hank, save me a seat up there in Heaven drinks are on me.

  • A tongue can accuse and carry bad news,

the seeds of distrust it will sow.

But unless you've made no mistakes in your life,

be careful of stones that you throw.

  • @milan82ca Even God agrees with that... more than you even know. Life is never fun when it's the easyest thing you've ever done. Thats why I snorted Viagra. I'm a sinner in despise of God. I run away from that crazy fella, been doin that my whole life.

  • @PoweredByAaron HAHA, dude, I have no idea what ur talking about, but whatever message u take from the song is your own. Stay off synthetic drugs... man-made anything is toxic.

  • this is the saddest one ive heard outside of the first fall of snow

  • thank you, so very, very much...my oldest brother passed away Sunday...I was looking for logging songs and found this...he loved this song and Hank:)

  • Hank's words in this text are good! Hope everyone who wants to call themselves believers agree. I'm just passing by, loving the words.

  • UIna buena melodia de la clasica

  • Hank is KING of COUNTRY THOMAS HAVERSTOCK

  • If they tired, they well have a lot people on the war path.Jack

  • It's the message this song sends. Best ballad singer of all time.

  • Jesus said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone!" Jesus is the only one today who can throw a stone at any of us but yet He throws His love! If He can do that....how much more should we? Beautiful song with a beautiful message and if I could carry a tune I would proudly sing this in the church I attend!

  • @tinadarm33 Why do you have to be in a church to sing this song? Sing it because you love it, because it resonates in your soul. Because it means something to you. I don't believe in God, Jesus or the Bible. I do, however, believe in doing right, helping others and being the best person I can be.

  • @nthqlndr If this song means something to you, why don't God? Your will of doing the right thing comes from God. He'll help you, just if you let him. :)

I was like you before, but i wanted to grow. So i searched God, and i found him. Now im growing everyday.

  • @nthqlndr So your life is all in vain. How sad to pass over a free gift from God..

  • @nthqlndr Well said

  • @nthqlndr Oh I would sing it anywhere if I could sing..LOL I just sound too much like a broken engine about to explode...LOL Of course, if the FBI ever wanted a great interegation method..all they have to do is get me to sing to the prisoner! Hehehe

  • @tinadarm33 man hank williams has got some good gospel music just litening to his music makes me wanna go back to church and be good haha funny but true =)

  • classis timeless, the message transcends the generations.Simple rules of life

  • so sad, beautiful song though.

  • Hank was a genius.

  • Comment removed

  • @basenjib123 Hank is a genius ha

  • Dion did this in '63 and had quite a big hit with it

  • this is a redone song , porter wagner is the real artist of this song

  • real church song that they will not play,,,,we can all lean someing here

  • Hank had what today's so called country stars lack. That is... soul.

  • @RossM3838 amen to that.

  • one of the best song writers of all times, so many songs in that short 4 year time

  • how true is this

  • So much better than the crap that passes for country music these days.

  • Thank you for posting this song - a strong reminder that we should love one another as we are all the same - SIN IS SIN

  • New for me!

  • self-righteousness to the core: that gossipy woman in the song. Kind of reminds me of the Pharisees who "trusted in THEMSELVES that they were righteous, and DESPISED others".

The climax of this song (to me) was when it was discovered that the `bad girl down the street` was the one who saved the little girl!!!

  • The power of life OR death is in the tongue...The Book of James.

  • 2:23 gets me every time!!!

  • Hank Jr. does this much better than his daddy did. Not hating cause I like Sr. too. But Jr. is just the best ever.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE you're retarded. Jr was good until he turned to pop-rock

  • @nicklesaj Glad I looked at your home page before I replied. I guess the only answer you deserve is...clean the snot from your nose and the green from behind your ears before you make a comment. In other words...when I want your opinion, I will give it to you, Pugsley. That's all you get until you grow up. Come back in 5 or 6 years when your opinion actually might matter. A haow haow haow haow.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE lol, what does my age have anything to do with this? I have been playing guitar since i was 4, piano since I was 6 and drums since I was 7. I have been a studio musicians for 7 different country artists, not to mention other genres. I've also lived more life than probably everyone you've ever know personally. So clean the snot from behind your nose, and the green from your ears, and don't judge me from my age. Hank was just 2 yrs older than me when he had his first hit, by the way

  • @nicklesaj Someone give me a violin. Read previous reply to your idiocy and apply. Next time wait 5 or 6 years before you reply. Maybe your opinion will matter then. Until then clean the snot from your nose and the green from behind your ears, kid.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE 5 or 6 years for what? My point here is that you can't judge someones maturity or life based solely on age. Hank, as I said was not much older than I when he wrote his first hit song, HIT song. As I said, and I will stand by this, Jr is good, but not as good as his daddy, or his son. and he's merely riding on the name now. His songwriting has dropped to crap. He used to be good, but he's washed up, unfortunately. You probably know nothing about songwriting... well this is my last.

  • @nicklesaj I don't recall giving you an opinion yet, kid. What is this banter about you spew? Have you cleaned your nose or behind your ears yet? Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. When you grow up you will be able to take it. Hang on till then. Alrighty then. See 'ya in the funny papers, pro kid.

  • @nicklesaj Oh and....Luke Jr. rules even though some snot nosed kid does not think so. Bwahaha, like that matters. Anything else?

  • i grow up hearing ths song me dad would always play it and i cant help but love it! thanks for shareing!

  • iv`e looked for this for yrs i first heard it 36yrs ago on an album i got my dad in uk they are words people should realy listen too poignant words indeed

  • Fucking Hank man.... fucking hank...

  • unless you've made no mistakes in your life - be careful of stones that you throw

  • unless you've made no mistakes in your life - be careful of stones that you throw

  • unless you've made no mistakes in your life - be careful of stones that you throw

  • unless you've made no mistakes in your life - be careful of stones that you throw

  • unless you've made no mistakes in your life - be careful of stones that you throw

  • what a voice...just beautiful.

  • the bad girl who lives down the street!!!!!!

  • nobody has 4gotten hank 57 yrs later hank is still the king and they sing about him country music has changed but all that sing it love hank

  • all these new country artist will never be remembered like Mr. Hank Williams after 57 yrs!!

  • amen SouthernBelleSmiles

  • Hank is the gratest country music singer and songwriter to ever walk the planet. By age 29 he had done more than most dream of in a lifetime. How soon he has been forgotten. bt

  • hank williams will not be forgotton long as we have him in oour heart

  • I love Hank and his grandson is talented (but very troubled). I don't care for Jr. at all, his music is purposefully red neck and drunk. It runs thin quickly.

Hank Sr. was a bonafide country person with a drug problem due to his spina bifida, and the pain in his voice carries a truth to it that other singers cannot buy.

  • @daredevilpre itotally agree with u the son is too redneck the grandson I dont know much about but lovr the dads voice gets right to the soul

  • "very troubled"? How so? Curious.

  • agreed, but Hank sr was also very troubled. not only with drug addiction, but also mental instability. He took all the criticism very personally. Also, its been mentioned by many people close to him that when the Opry fired him, it nearly mentally broke him.

  • Hank Williams had an eerie insight into life that it took me years longer to acquire....It's very profound.

  • How true you are Speedy. Amazing isnt it?

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 I remember when America was full of rebels and me and my sister were ones of them. We were always passin' through since Dad worked for a gas and oil company and we were always like gypsies to the neighborhoods we moved into and out of. I remember this song from the motels radios. It was the early 50's and we thought we knew how the world worked. I wonder how the danm world works...believe you me.

  • it simply means that you don't judge a book by looking at the cover, your to even think others may be even more decent than you ,when you don't know them,[then you should pray for them if their not]

  • one thing i like good ole hank you drink to his songs beer or whiskey. he sings the truth

  • Perfect statement, I agree. The truth is there.

  • Or just coffee!

  • One of by biggest thrills is finding songs that I have not yet heard by real king of country music thank you

  • This is a song my father taught me. Then, one day I became "that bad girl down the street." Daddy, I love you. Thank you for always loving me.

  • this is def a good message to everybody

  • One of his best

  • ..this is a good message for ALL of us...!

  • @yedon68 amen , . . .

  • there's a little of Hank Williams in all of us

  • used to have that album one of the greatest

  • I heard this song growing up and my kids all like it. It helps me understand and teach them we are all different and we don't know what someone's made of. A person you don't care for or who has many character flaws might be the person who will drag you from a burning car while those you admire and look up to stand by. It reminds me to treat everyone with respect.

  • Oh, how I LOVE this song! These are words to live by. Thank you for this post. This sould have way more views.

  • I've thrown too many stones. Have you?

  • this song has one of biggest life

    lessons to human,Hank knew

the life.he died at young age,but

    he was actually "very old".

  • Hank Williams Sr I was one the first stars i have knew.first one was Mozart second was Marilyn Monroe third one was Michael Jackson(don't like him but anyway) fourth one was Estonian Singer Mati Nuude and fith was Hank Williams.I'm 21, have been Hank fan for now 12 years.i alyways respect him he is the god for me.
  • haunting

  • Unless you've made no mistakes in your life, be careful of stones that you throw. Very true & something we should all think about!

  • That Hawiian slide is crazy who started it

  • Man,this is one of the very first songs that I remember as a kid! I've often thought of it.

  • I have always loved this song. It has a very good lesson thhat we all need to learn.

  • You're absolutely right. To be a "self declared' Simple man from the South, Hank Williams had a whole lot of wisdom.

  • i love this song and all his (sermon songs) like too many parties and too many pals ect.

  • Thank GOD. I can't believe that this is on here. When i was in my late teen's my best friend's grandmother played this song for me. It taught me the samething you would lean in chuch here in South Carolina. I love that old lady we call Momma Helen. Thank yall for letting me vent on here.

  • i was about 8 also when this was popular-no tv---just the good old radiio

  • I'm 39 but when i was 18 me and my friend's used to go out drinking an such. One of my friend's grandmother told me one night while i was talking about someone who i thought was a ass. Momma Helen played me this song to teach me a lesson.

  • i love this

  • the truth in this song is deeper than the ocean.

  • The great Hank Williams!!! Wonderful song! Thanks!

  • I love this kinda music!

  • Thanks.

    Brother Don

  • Beautiful song and so true. I heard this years ago, but I believe we all need to hear this now and then. Thank you for sharing.

  • GREAT!!!

  • Thanks for this great video of a wonderful song sung by Hank Williams Sr.. :(

  • very true song god bless hanks and one love his music

  • Ive listened to this album since a kid at my grandpa's. Even today, this song brings a tear to my eyes. It shos me how truely ugly we all are inside. And makes me appreciate how God can still love us.

  • this song could describe plenty of people I know, but who are we to gossip??

  • I could consider myself=the bad girl that lived down the street. Actually, I'm the "good" girl that all the neighborhood women gossip about. There's a book, "Men Marry Bitches, stop being a Doormat & Get the Man of Your Dreams!" - describes the "gossiping bitch" in this video. It is haunting-it is true-especially the ending. Requested this to be read on talk radio in Vegas-before the radio station bellied up and sold out. White music has been replaced, just as the White race is being replaced.
