  • this is my favorite building

  • GAH! because of you gais! my friend wants to do the same!!! T____T

    I'm gonna die!!!! RAR

........we gonna bust this mission for the view LOL

  • when is this event, i live near la and have always wanted to go see the view from the roof

  • @Gwizal I think it takes place in October.

  • @wildbell thanks, also just noticed the very start of the video has a date ':) whoops

  • @Gwizal Ha. If it's any consolation it's my vid and I'd forgotten it starts off with the date. DOH

  • It's actually 1,018 ft.

  • Man, imagine if this skyscraper would be scrapped. Los Angeles wont be the same! I love Los Angeles how it is, and I how this beautiful city will never get hit by an Earthquake or anything else.

  • Apologies to @meupnoseu for making a video that was so uninteresting to him he couldn't even muster the focus to spellcheck his brief criticism. "King a boring," indeed.

  • No wonder he was breathing so hard. He was climbing up the stairs to the top of the tallest building in California, which is The U.S. Bank Tower In Los Angeles.

  • are you allowed to do this? do you just say "i wanna go to the top" or what? is it like the space needle where you get to just go to the top? please reply.

  • @350z350zify This Stairclimb to the Top event is pretty much the one time of the year that bottom-to-top stair access at US Bank Tower is granted. Since it's an office building and one of the tallest west of the Mississippi they keep the place locked down pretty tight. Even if they did allow people into the stairwells, just like any skyscraper I doubt they'd let anyone on the roof.

  • @350z350zify I asked the guy in the parking lot the other day on 11/03/10, and he said they blocked the way to the top. I didn't believe it but I left anyway because the parking fee is $47 and I had no money.

  • so NO elevator JUST STAIRS im scared

  • fatasses need to put down the fork and do this once a week

  • woow congratulations dude thats what i call motivation :-)

how many floors are in the tower?

  • 75 floors :)

  • We replanned to go Downtown LA on Tuesday.

Since I can get out and walk around with a group, I am planning to go inside the building lobby.

Hope I can help spread comments and tell how it is.

I bet it won't be fun. A huge giant building.... 1012 ft above me... since I am 6 ft.

    Haha!

  • I've been to the us bank tower before, it was not fun, but it was clean with stores, coffe shops offices, and stores. But it looked nothing like a bank.

  • Hey!

Since you've been inside the US Bank Tower

Can you tell me what is fun inside there?

  • Hi Luckypet. I'm not quite sure I know what you mean by "fun." It's an office building and all I really saw of it was the stairs going from the top to bottom.

  • Mmmk...nvm.

  • Didn't mean my reply to come out as a blow off, Luckypet. It's just I didn't really get a chance to explore the place after the stairclimb. There's definitely some interesting places around the tower, like the Central Library and Pershing Square and the Biltmore Library. But on the inside of the skyscraper I'm not much of an authority.

  • Lots of Libraries.

    But what is "Pershing Square?"

  • Ha. Better late than never I guess: By Biltmore "Library" I meant Biltmore Hotel. And Pershing Square is one of the oldest parks in Los Angeles.

  • @wildbell is there 75 floors or 73

  • @marmiusic 75 floors.

  • I did The C.N. Tower.

It is The Tallest Bulding In the World and i did it in 23 or so minute. Maby less, I don't remember too well.

  • Tallest tower* But not for long because burj dubai will be tallest tower and building at the same time

  • Yeah, Did it pass it yet???

Never hear to much about it on the News.

C.N.tower is Underrated in the world and Overrated in canada.

U.S. bank tower is cool But that empire state bulding hogs all the glory. I made a Fan Club For THe U.S. Bank Tower. LOL

  • The Burj dubai is now the worlds tallest building, imagine climbing those stairs! lol

  • Yeah, Ill probly go there someday

  • Two french man climbed up there and jumped off there with a parachute.

  • San Andreas!!! lol

  • Comment removed

  • @marmiusic dude I said it 10 months ago, give me a break

  • @SmoothCriminalAaron just dont say it

  • hehe what happened when u got to the top.(u don't need to reply to that!) u have to get down ae. a shame about the ristrictions of site seeing off the edge of the building. that would be an awesome view. ill have to go in a Helicopter wen i make it to LA

  • i was under the impression that the building is 72 stories? can someone clarify?

  • Hi Gambler, You are correct in that it is 72 above-ground stories, but the stairclimb starts from the third "below-ground" parking level, thus the 75.

  • Correction: 73 above-ground and 2 parking levels below-ground

  • Hey Will,

Will you be doing the US Bank Stair climb again this year (Oct 5th and 6th)?

I signed up and have raising money for the YMCA...

    Should be fun........

  • Hi Dink, I never got rebitten by the stairclimbing bug so I won't be doing it this year. Good luck with your climb!

  • Sorry you won't be doing it. Watching your video a few months ago is actually the reason I signed up, so thanks!

It should be an interesting experience....

Hopefully I'll see you at Fargo Street climb in 2008. You WILL make it up next time, your name proves it.......LOL

    Best to you,

    Dink

  • Thanks, Dink. Let me know how it goes!

  • i get the feeling that one day this building will have the collapse that the twin towers had

  • Is this an annual thing...I'd like to participate. For the cause and because it's such an amazing skyscraper. Let me know when it's done...

  • sweet! I want to do that in the Empire State Building here in New York State someday......I hear they do something like it!

  • Nice job! How many people do that climb?

  • Dink, I'd bet there's easily a couple hundred that do it.

  • Hi Tsackella. Sorry for the delay in replying. The participants in this are organized into groups based on age brackets and given a pre-start time in which to gather outside the building on 5th Street. Once the time comes to begin each climber is let go with about a five-second delay in between, so it's pretty quick and continual.

  • Good Job on completing that. They have something very similar in Indianapolis, but I have never traveled there to try it. It didn't seem like there were a lot of people doing it? How many did they let go at a time?

  • Is it scary on the roof?

  • Good question Bside. Since our access to the roof was restricted due to security concerns, none of the participants were able to get a good look around. When I got up top I particularly had been hoping to get atop the helipad above us for an unobstructed view, but that wasn't allowed. Where we were wasn't scary at all (to me) as instead of a dropoff there was a tall wall (maybe four or five feet high)... But we weren't even allowed to go to it and look straight down.

  • I was actually just using my small digital camera set to movie mode. Before I went up I did see a guy with a steadi-cam contraption that looked pretty intense. I don't know when he went up, but if he did I bet he got some cool footage.

  • I think i saw you with the video camera that day, unless there was more than one of you w/ a video camera.
