However different indicators will react across the pH scale in different ways, showing a different range of colours, as is shown in this example with cabbage.
Acid and Base are the correct terms. An alkali is a base that dissolves in water. Not all bases dissolve in water so not all bases can be classed as alkalis. Also the pH scale goes from 1 - 14....NOT 1 - 13. Jeez if you want to make science simple and fun at least make it correct.

1. it goes from 1 to 14
2. neutral is suppost to be green
3. acidic is supposed to be red
4.alkaline is supposed to be bluish purple
