(5)Ultimately, the legislature in 2006 approved then-Gov. Frank Murkowski's (R) request to allocate about $90 million apiece for the bridges, which was the maximum allowed for such projects under federal transportation funding formulas.

Ya, Palin was against the bridge AFTER congress dumped the idea and told her that Alaska would have to pay for it on its own, right after that, she said "no thanks." Although, she is still backing another bridge to nowhere is Alaska. It is a multimillion dollar bridge that is over an hour from the city and leads to a remote area with a prison and one restaurant, and that is it. Good work Palin!

Sarah Palin wears pretty suits and she will take care of McCain and his needs. She likes wearing high-heels and I know she will have a better hand at decorating the White House than Mrs. McCain. Palin has accomplished more for tax payers of Alaska than Obama and Biden have done for their states. Obama and Biden voted for the Bridge, tell me why if they are so smart? Obama has siezed the spirit of the time. Yes, America is indeed in need of a "change". Perhaps and that is a "perhaps", Obama may have achieved less than Palin or, McCain. The meer fact of his vying for president is a symbol of that change. It is something that we here in Europe support. McCain is not only old but "old school politics"! The terrorists trained during Clinton's watch and Clinton had numerous opportunities to get Bin-Laden and refused; ("what if"). If you want to blame a President for 9/11, Clinton would be your man. It is tough to keep a watch on terrorist while getting BJs in the oval office. There have been less terrorist attacks against US targets under Bush than under Clinton.

Clinton was given many opportunities to accept Bin Laden as a gift. Bush inherited terrorist and an economy headed south. The DOTCOM bust being a big one. Research what nonpartisan economist say. I brought Clinton up due to mrteryx blaming Republicans for 9/11 (LOL). Integrity in the Oval Office is not something Democrats can accept. Gov. Sarah Palin allowed the $25 million dollar construction and expenditure for the road to nowhere, even after the bridge project had been shot down by the government.
Alaskan could have put that money to use for projects that would have actually benefited it's citizens.
The Alaskan people only wish that Palin had said, "No Thanks."
