  • strawberry short cakes....mmmmmmm

  • I was born in 1993 but i really love those years, the sound of the video, the music they make and also the women. I don't know why but i think women were much beautiful in the 40's,50's than today. I really regret to be born in the 90's lol

  • I miss my toys from the 60s.

  • You are doing a great thing! Because you're taking the time to do things like this, college kids (like myself) get to learn more about television history. (a lot of this the professors don't even discuss!)

  • CHINA The worlds largest toy makers of cheap junk!

  • Yes kids there was a time when you didn't have i pads, and dvd players. We had toys that let you use your imagination!

  • @bingobongo445you know youre old when you start bitching about the good old days (:

  • Couldn't be too bad- George Costanza used it for his atm password !

  • The Colorforms ad with the soundtrack of laughing people is really creepy. The crowd can't be that thrilled over colorforms. Maybe they are under the influence of something.

  • Those workers on the toy assembly line wouldn't be white today and I doubt the toy factory would be in the US.

  • The guy at 31:00 looks like Col. Sanders and Edgar Allen Poe had a baby. Plus, he's giving away a real "radio station"?!

  • So, in the first spot, we see Woody Allen as a Cub Scout eating a Good Humor ice cream bar. It's the best acting he's done in years ...

  • Bosco made me the man i am today fat and slow and high blood sugar

  • the father in the lays potato chip part was Burt Lahr who played the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz. I'm not not if that was his real son or not but it might have been. it wasnt uncommon for stars to appear with their children in commercials.

  • My chocolate drug drink of choice was Nestle's Quik. P.S. I always and 50 years later still hate Ovaltine!

  • So was coller forms the lap tops of there day?

  • @Rollman1 No. Colorforms were items coated on the back with a substance that allowed them to stick to a surface. I had one when I was little.. You would get a board with a drawing of someone in their underwear (I kid you not), and you would 'dress" them by sticking these Colorforms items on them. Or, if you didn't dress them outright, you could put accessories (like an umbrella that stuck) in their hand. The bad part was that these Colorforms items eventually "dried up" and wouldn't stick.

  • He looks like a little Barny Fife

  • "Isn't he a lucky stiff"? That announcer is kinda creepy.

  • Hey, you cheated with that Big Wheel commercial! It was from the 70's, and this was only supposed to be the 50's and 60's! By the way, what was with the toy creation scene that lasted 10 minutes? That wasn't a commercial, but a how-to. Still, I made it through the entire 59 minutes, and this was fascinating.

  • So witch was better Cocoe Marsh or Bosco ?

  • @Rollman1 that was the eternal question back in this era.......bosco users and coco marsh users were like democrats and republicans............I was a bosco kid...but my best friend insisted on coco marsh and to this day I think less of him for that

  • Our troops just killed Osama Bin Garloo

  • LOL "BE A SWINGER, STICKY FINGERS!" right on.

  • ) : D hahahahahahahaha this thing is bizzaree !!!!

  • That kid resembles Jerry Lewis..

  • I used to play with color forms in the 70s

  • @JohannaGotTalent41 yep! me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God I wanna good humor Icecream

  • @flashbakgamer4 i agree

  • Sonny Fox! I loved Sonny Fox.

  • The sticky fingers look terrible. Oh god.

  • Sonny Fox...Wonderama...Simon says do this....Channel 5, New York

  • I love BOSCO.Someone told me you can still get it in NY.

  • @koolbossjock boscoworld

  • thumbs up if you watched the intire thing and you liked it

  • Hey..I LOVE Bosco...do they still make that stuff? I used to eat until I puked!

  • We hated Sonny Fox (the guy in the Good Humor ad). He was as snotty & sadistic as they came to kids. Sandy Becker (Bosco) is known to have said some nasty stuff on camera about kids but was genuinely funny. Notice how they were free to say anything. Dangerous on live TV. Check out his "Hambone" character on YouTube. Still hysterical because he was having so much fun himself. Chuck McCann & Soupy Sales too. But Sonny Fox well the F didn't always mean fox.

  • Lets kill elephants

  • Marshmallow Fluff -- Diabetes Spread

  • Man you can't get worse TV than this guy......lol

  • These commercials are a billion times BETTER then the so called commercials we have today. I wish I lived back then. Thanks for sharing :)

  • Looking back there is a sinister undertone in many of these commercials.

  • Tom looks a little slow!

  • @the7thchambers LOL..... they couldn't have picked a better kid..... what a piss. LOL

  • AAAH! Fundo wants me DEAD!

  • my mom had a toodles

  • i hate u

  • ........i hate u

  • That dachshund walked like my dachshund.

  • wow patty duke at 36.56

  • $17.98 was like $50.00 back then! Maybe more! :o

  • Sonny Fox!!!!

  • Whats with all the colorform stuff!? Soooooo annoying :/

  • Chris Knight aka "Peter Brady" with the 'Fort Apache' play set @50:46.

  • God Give the kid the icecream already ya Big loud mouth

  • That's actress Patty Duke (Mom of actor Sean Astin) @36:05 and 37:11!

  • Miss Cookie's Kitchen@6:35!

    I had one of these!

  • say Johnny...do you like gladiator movies?

  • Man, I'm only here for the Bosco.

  • the ice cream man wants you little johnny he wants to teach you things

  • this is annoying as hell

  • its only annoying because you dont have any ice cream.

  • i thought videos couldnt be over 10 min. long

  • i have been wondering the same thing myself

  • Those Colorform ads might be the most annoying things I have ever seen.

  • I love all these vids !!!!!!!!!

  • OK. I haven't seen the commercial for "Sticky Finger" since 1966. I said Sticky! This alone was worth the wait. Very high marks for you today Ira.

  • he is stuck cross eye

  • takes me back and makes me feel so very old ! :)

  • 29:29 Gimme that you f*cking brat!

  • Comic/Character actor and dialectician Mr.Lee Reynolds is

"Grandpa" of WTTV TV Ch.5 Washington,D.C.'s"Grandpa's Place!".

  • The frisbee ad is so spacy. It's freakin' great. Seems like they were aiming up for a little while. What happened to us? We the mainstream liked throwing frisbees back then, for a few years.

  • You have to see the psychadellic frisbee ad at 54:48

The grooviest tv ad I've ever seen. Must be from 1971; I remember watching it as a small child.

  • I really enjoyed seing GI Joe in "The Secret of the Mummie's Tomb". I hadn't seen that since 1971, but I still knew every shot. I can't imagine how many gig's of tv we all have stored in our brains.

  • wow old commercials are so slow passed now days there 30secs long and blasting sound & color at kids no wonder kids have add.

  • Comment removed

  • 8:56 to 9:51: Did Coloforms come with nitrous oxide?

  • lol.... :)

  • Wow we bought into all of this

  • Bosco also worked great as an industrial adhesive.

  • Bosco was also the first Looeny Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoon character in 1930.

    [runs]

  • Marvellous, how nonchalant the 'Deluxe Reading' execs are flaunting their mirgant workers in the assembly line ... Nobody looks really happy -- rather uncomfortable with the camera team around (probably lead to unpaid overtime to make up for lost production time while they were filmed) ... But this company certainly cranked out big playsets and toys ... Kinda like Marx Toys: " more for less" ... Cheers, Julia from Florida

  • After noticing Patty Duke in at least two of these I further observed that the same handful of child actors appear again and again. Who is that boy in the Cocoa Marsh commercial who then appears with Patty in a somewhat earlier pitch for the Remco Drive-In Movie Theater? Looks familiar.

  • Not sure, but I am sure that in the "Action Kids" Marx Toys commercial, the tallest of the boys is Christopher Knight--the future Peter Brady.

  • i miss these types of commercials .. sure they're corny but not annoying like today's commercials

  • i wish thay were still like that

  • I had that Popeye Colorforms set. I was scared of it.

  • Uh-oh, Baby Toodles isn't in an approved car seat! Those little moms better watch out!

  • Sandy Becker did that Bosco spot so well.

  • A little old and cheesy compared to today's advertisement but these pitchmen were amazing. I want me a jar of Bosco's. Probably tastes like shit but that guy sold me.

  • thtas what they had back.. then bad acting. but dammit they really convinced you into buying something

  • Wasn't "Boscoe" George Costanza's ATM pin?

  • @cquetsch boscoworld

  • @cquetsch Bought some Bosco today at World Market. It has a unique and great flavor. I think it tastes much better than Hershey's Chocolate Syrup.

  • @cquetsch Bosco's okay. You can still get it, but you've got to hunt for it. I'm afraid Coco Marsh has 'headed west', just like Marx Toys. It's kind of sad really. Kids used to play with stuff that made demands on them, not just sitting in front of a monitor like a lump.

  • @cquetsch Bosco actually tasted good, but "smooth, chocolaty Ovaltine" of the 60's was nasty!

  • @cquetsch They still sell it today and It tastes better than Hershey's chocolate in milk IMO. :')

  • Sonny Fox was no pervert. He was a great guy and one of the best hosts Wonderama ever had.

  • You can still buy PF FLYERS , i have the white hightops, they look and smell the same out of the box. But i forgot the pain it was getting these on and tying double bows in front. But a very retro look, the same sneakers you had as a kid.

  • Wow I played Color Forms and I'm 31 from Montreal, Canada... think my aunt had it.

  • Woh? Why did the hippies fuck it up!!!??

  • wow,forgot about Wishnixs!!!

  • you could see the good humor guy reading a tele prompter.

  • That lay's Commercial made me laugh.

    29:30

  • I just recognized a very young patty duke in a few of these!

  • Sandy Becker is doing a plug for Bosco on the clubhouse

set of Sandy Becker Presents The Our Gang Comedies on

    WNEW TV Ch.5 in NYC.

  • Dear MysteryCat, Mr.Sonny Fox is not a pervert..and he knew how to deal

with kids the right way on all of his kids tv shows including

    Just For Fun.

  • Dang. That Good Humor thing was AWFUL!! The kid looked like he was crapping his pants and he was a WEIRD looking kid! The host was just a total CREEP! Seemed like a perv to.

  • Did Rin Tin Tin have it written into his contract that he didn't do contest commercials? :)

  • Right tommy? Say Tommy have you ever been to a turkish prison?

  • Great collection of old stuff! Thanks for posting them. I enjoyed it so very much!

  • Sonny Fox and a cub scout promote a Good Humor

Ice cream pop on an installment of WNEW TV Ch.5 NYC's

kids tv game show Just For Fun.
