Yea you can make knee joints, it's just more complicated. The possibilities are nearly limitless.

if Motors are synchronized so that the feet stay as level as possible and the upper carriage remains upright they why does the at-st trip.

Because the "terrain" I built for it has a straight drop at the end. I set it up so that your sackboy flies off, hits the prize bubble, and slides onto the scoreboard to end the walker demonstration.
