No,print media is not dead.I subscribe to GQ for example and a physical magazine is better than reading it online.Physical paper media costs are more expensive and game compamny mags is failing, but as a whole no.
Dairy Queen ftw! YES the internet is taking over! first it was porn now the news.. when i pick up my local newspaper and read it which i dont its packed with bullshit
You're right on target dude, the Dallas Morning News has even thinned out as well; most of the sections (metro, sports) have merged with other small ones (guidelive, classifieds) to create less space thus saving more money. It used to cost 50 cents but this year it went up by a quarter. Most cut staff, stopped promotions, and those that weren't able to make a profit were shut down or transitioned into internet forms. Personally, I want to read them and hold them, not observe them on a dullscreen
I doubt we will see the end of print media. EGM is the last standing magazine in Ziff Davis magazine and they have closed down GMR, OPM, GFW, just to name a few. I predict EGM might be next since there online site has the latest news, reviews, and previews and might even start to charge a monthly fee to access teh boards just like IGN does. I don't read the newspaper anymore but used to for the comics.
I still like print media when I'm on the john or waiting in a doctor's office, otherwise it is dead. Sorry to hear about the jobs guys, but you guys will rebound.
Sucks bud. I personally don't get the newspaper anymore and I've cut off subscriptions to gaming magazines for two reasons:
1) The internet has all the information I need on whatever video game I am interested in
2) The economy is so poor, that I don't want to spend money on stuff I don't have to have.
I think the economy is your biggest battle honestly. No one wants to pay for paper media anymore, I think once everything gets straightened out, it may go back to the way it was.
I was trying to transfer my Dad over to RSS feeds, but he admitted he liked the novelty of it being on paper, as opposed to a crappy 15" CTR.
I too, like the novelty of having a book or such on paper. I have so many eBooks, but I never really get into them, and always end up buying the proper thing if I like it.
could the recession in america have something to do with it , i think thats what its called, i think the print media in the uk is doing as good as it was a few years back
Sorry to hear you both got laid off. Best of luck finding another job GoGo872 and Samuel.
I don't think printed media is dead, or dying. The quality of writing you get in professional printed media is far greater than that of most articles on the internet.
It's just with the current global finicial situation, people are buying less of everything, and most companies are getting less customers, so they need less staff.
give me 43 dollers any day lol nice video sam i agree with you though still about the paper and magazine then again it could be due to the advert being expensive or the ink too
just face it lol people prefer to read off techknowledgy rather thhen paper and magazines now cos thats how some people take in more informartion and plus its free so you dont have t pay like 50p or 1.00p for paper it'd be nice to have a free newpaper or megazine but then again i dont think they chuck in the free cd's if it was free lol
Well that is sad yea the thing is there is a limited amount of Knowledge that can fit on a newspaper instead when you check the internet there is infinite amount of knowledge and much more you don't have to be attached to one news paper you can look at news from Egypt
whats NEW MEXICAN?
is that your paper company? why does it say

I think the Internet has killed Print Media.
I don't waste money on Magazines anymore, because I can find it all on the internet!
So, yeah pretty much Print Media to me is outdated or non-existent.
Oh and Pizza Slut (er... Hut) isn't bad to work at. I'm a Manager at one, until I get my Bachelors of course.
