  • what do you guys think black or red

  • My les paul is red and has gold plated parts

  • Comment removed

  • does this guitar stays in tune well??

  • @thisisrock100 $1700

  • @codismyBxTCH Really? I only paid $999 for mine.

  • hey everybody i want to know how much does the les paul studio cost ? because I was looking for a epiphone les paul black beauty but this one is much better

  • I am in LOVE <3

  • 498T, in the bridge. I thought it was the 490T. I like the idea of the 50’s wiring I put in mine, and the Duncan pickup, but thinking about it now, the guitar was perfection right out of the case. It was truly stunning. I made a jump from an Epiphone SG, with a Duncan JB, to this Studio, and there was a clear jump in quality of everything, and it wasn’t imagined, because of the name. The one I have, screams harmonically, like no other guitar. Same goes for the 08 SG Special my brother owns.

  • Is it wrong that I hope that my guitar somehow got tainted with Taylor Swift germs, before coming in to my possession? I love my Studio. Same year as this add.

  • Dear Santa.....

  • Red and Gold. Beautiful.

  • How come every guitar advertisement video says that "This guitar is the most famous/best/original guitar in the WORLD?!?!?!?!" LOL

  • I love Gibson's guitars. But i can't pay for some one. :(

  • is it good for metal music???

  • @nikolass359 It can make the job but it is not originaly made for metal so.... Check some Jackson, Ibanez , B.C. Rich, etc.....

  • @Duroduro666 thnx for the inf my friend!!!

  • @nikolass359 yep

  • @nikolass359 Of-course! Just go to 1:00 to get a small example. If you want, you can put some higher output, more metal suited pickups in there and I'm sure you'll have a Metal machine! Lots of metal players use Les-Pauls; from Judas Priest to Mastodon.

  • @Edlamb0306 thnx

  • i keep comin back to this video just so i can hear those sweet guitar solos at the beggining

  • I just ordered a Ebony with chrome hardware for $1187. I've been self teaching on an acoustic for a couple months and decided to buy and electric and get some lessons. I also ordered a fender hot rod deluxe III 212. Not a bad setup for a guy who is just beginning?

  • @nomadicexplorers god dammit that pisses me off how ive been playin for 2 years and i still cant afford a gibson but yet after 2 months of playing your getting one!

  • @DRGK9 I'm sorry man. It wasn't to rub it in anyone's face. I'm just excited. I originally was going to get an ESP LTD deluxe with seymour duncans but they were sold out. Then the guy talked to me about the studio and he gave me 30 days to try it out. Do you work?

  • @nomadicexplorers im only 15 dude. and the boss says i gotta wait till this summer to start. right now my best is a epiphone and i play better then most of my friends except 2 of them but they have been playin for 5-6 years.

  • @DRGK9 lol, now I don't feel as bad. I'm 33, and retired. epiphones aren't bad at all. You should take a peak at the esp ltd ec-1000fm also.

  • @nomadicexplorers RETIRED AT 33 WHAT IS YOUR JOB!!!???

  • @DRGK9 Being retired. lol. I was in the Army

  • @nomadicexplorers oh i was gonna say how do you retire from a job at 33 lol. im glad you were in the army. hearing that makes me believe that you deserve an even better guitar.. say a gibson les paul standard

  • @DRGK9 When I progress I will. I will eventually switch out the pick ups in the studio

  • @nomadicexplorers im plannin on putin burst buckers in the epi

  • Thumbs up if you own a Les Paul Studio!

  • @doblajesj I am getting one :) and I am getting it in wine red just like in this video

  • Ever considered a quality built guitar with P90's and a good amp to accompany it? It's just not healthy of own only one guitar. I agree with Philtration. You have a different guitar to do different jobs. Of course you can take this Gibson flip the switches the right way and have a good amp with the proper settings and you will be good to go with the sound you are looking for.

  • 0:13. can i ask how hes getting that sound. ive been playin for a couple years but i dont have a clue how

  • @DRGK9 Just a combination of feedback and harmonics? Not sure myself.

  • i've finally found the love of my life. never brings you down :'3

  • the standard and the studio sounds the same, i plug them on guitar center and there was no difference, trust me, the difference is that the standard has like a better quality style, but the sound is the same :P

  • How does it sound in a live, on stage environment?

  • @411TheBored depends on amp volume and the affects your using

  • The first tone he played sounded somewhat like the tone I have, but the 3rd tone was what ive been looking for, what amp is used?

  • @mattw8675 I can't tell you what amp is used but if you have the first tone you have alot of mids. It is warm with mild distortion/overdrive. The third tone is more of a scooped mid (slightly boosted bass and treble with slightly lower mids) sound with alot of distortion.

  • why isn't there a video like this for the Faded? Is it yet another cost cutting exercise?!

  • Why does every video about guitars turn into some dumb ass "Who has the smallest dick" contest?

Buy and play what YOU like.

Buy more than one type of guitar and expand your mind a little bit while you are at it.

Play a Les Paul, an SG, a Strat a Tele... try a Schecter Solo 6.

Compare a Gibson to an Epiphone without acting like a fucking snob.

Stop worrying about what your friends think or how you look in the mirror with your guitar otherwise you are missing the whole point.

  • @Philtration u said it!!!

  • @Philtration the solo 6 is an amazing guitar for the price. Heck its an amazing guitar

  • @Philtration RIGHT ON!!!!

  • @Philtration

this is well said. The guitar will talk to you and you listen. I tried two gibson SGs same colour same everything, one talked the other squawked.

  • @Philtration see now this is how all guitarists should think... except for the Schecter part

  • @TheMAJofficial whats wrong with schecter?

  • @RossBrowna7x It's just my opinion... I really can't say anything I really like about Schecter... But that's just my opinion

  • @TheMAJofficial Hahahaaaa... I actually played a Schecter Solo-6 Custom and it is a hell of a guitar for the price.

Real Duncan pickups, real ebony fretboard, great build and finish.

    A great deal for $700.

  • People will always moan about Gibson prices but truth is if they were crap their used prices would reflect this but they hold their used value. If you dont wanna pay get a copy its as simple as that ;0) there are loads of guitars more expensive than a USA made studio that are made in korea, i know which i prefer.

  • wow gibson pisses me off. there gonna make the les paul custom and the les paul studio with the same pickups, hardware, wood, yet they charge over $2500 more for binding and inlayson the custom. wow

  • It's better built, buddy. Calm down and get a job.

  • @MasterxMorgan yeah good point. itll probably last a lot longer. my bad

  • Way better built, and far more reliable. I have a Custom, and I can tell you it's really good, and far superior to my other guitars. In fact, most Custom shop guitars are far better than the original USA guitars right out of the box. The Custom Pro feels and sounds better than my Traditionals. I might go out and get it once I get done doing what I have to do today. Yeah, it's really expensive, but I love it, and can afford it. Why not? It's like a little kid refusing to not take some candy.

  • @MasterxMorgan No its not. "way better built"? youre kidding yourself. Ive been a luthier coming up 32 years and ive worked on hundreds of gibsons. If you close your eyes and play theres NO difference. The vast majority of guitarists prefer the standard over the custom because it looks like a pimps car. The studio is a full monte les paul without the trimmings which are entirely cosmetic. I had a blue 91 studio lite which was one of the best guitars that ever passed through my hands.

  • Are you OddTimeMan's brother?

  • I get a hard on when I see this guitar.

  • Should I get a Gibson les paul studio, or a Godin Icon Type 2 ?

  • Love this guitar!

  • That metal screech makes me sad

  • I have the same color and the gold I love it the sound has great depth, hard to over play it.

  • That distortion sounds like ass.

  • I have this exact guitar. Same color, same tuning pegs, everything...only I have Alnico classic plus humbuckers....I've played Fenders and Ibanez's...but this plays so easily....really smooth

  • A Gibson sg or this les paul studio ?

  • @FreakGuitar14 Dude come on, Get an Sg standard, stay away from the studio or the sg faded series.

  • @FreakGuitar14 it depends on what type of guitar you want

  • Me want

  • I prefer my strat

  • Good for you.

  • @HolyGK Strats feel to "rock band" controller and light. Les Paul's have the perfect weight. I would rather a Telecaster before a Strat.

  • @GoreRotDeath I never said Stratocaster are better, It depends on tastes, I just said I prefer my strat because for me they are the perfect guitar....

  • Anyone care to comment on how these things are for clean tone? Everything sounds the same to me with all that distortion. More interested in clean jazz and country, warm for jazz, some bite for country, a little reverb. Anybody? Thanks.

  • @jaw350 Fantastic! Les Pauls started out as Jazz guitars with a pure clean tone. They are very versatile. The 498T is one of the best pickups Gibson makes and sound better than some active pickups.

  • @GoreRotDeath Hey, thanks for that info. Appreciate it.

  • @jaw350 I personally find it a bit on the crunchy side for a great clean tone, it will definitely do the job and sound good but I always prefer to use a guitar with single coils for clean tones so would generally use my strat. That said its a tried and tested guitar, it will do clean thats just how I feel

  • @jaw350 get a hollowbody.

  • They're great man.

  • @jaw350 After playing a Strat for 23 years, I bought a Studio and absolutely love it. The punch of the humbuckers is great for several styles that I play. Clean, you can get a nice, round sound, and it's certainly capable of classic country sounds; the bridge pickup and my recently acquired MXR Custom Comp does the job well.

  • Studio = wannabe gibson les paul

  • The studio is better then the 1959 epi I traded in for, sounded bigger and better. Dont think the neck was set right on the epi because the action i couldnt get very low on it. Not sure if its a epiphone thing

  • It is. I've owned quite a few.

  • Imho.. the studio is crap

  • @tonycool990 no it`s not, newbie

  • @RCThales yes it is, im sorry but the quality you get for the money you pay is just NOT worth it imo

  • This is an excellent guitar

  • Should I get this or a fender Standard strat for blues?

  • @Fernandez3995 I'd definitley go with the strat, but go to a store and play around with all the tone and pickup combinations with a lot of guitars before you make up your mind. its all personal preference

  • @Fernandez3995 I've owned a Fender USA Strat...Nice guitars but ...Get The Gibson Les Paul Studio...I own one in Fireburst and Gold Hardware...Gorgeous Looks,Tone and plays like a dream. Gibson USA Rocks!

  • @Fernandez3995 for me. i think for blues, maybe a telecaster would be nice. fender strat squire os also nice, and if a les paul. it has bit classical sound. or maybe you should get a guitar like B.B.kings.. this is just my opinion

  • all i want is the sound from 00.22 - 00.31... best sound i could ever achieve

  • Only the intro solo made me watch this whole video, damn.

  • This is a cool guitar but when are they ganna make a les paul studio?

  • @11RATATTACK what?there are plenty of les paul studios..?

  • lol at the quality of this vid. seriously, if ur advertising ur guitars, at least upload it in 480p.

  • @lameKidification Well look at the upload date smartass.

  • @imonyourfacewoot yeah,in 2007 there wasnt quality in digital recordings.

  • @cromaticas In 2007 there were way less vids with 480p

  • Please find a better demo guy...

  • iv'e got the white one , and it's amazing :O

  • wanna listen to something that isn't trashy hip hop music? wanna listen to true music this generation? well then check out my channel !!! we feature unsigned artists that send us their recorded demos /official songs. We feature one amazing song each week!! think you've got great talent that needs to be exposed?!?!? well send us your stuff and subscribe!!!

  • Should i get this or the sg standard?

  • @Nobasic53 Depends on what kind of music you play. But the different isn't great. Most people would prefer the SG Standard. I would too lol

  • @FinalFantasyCenter I love the LP i think i should get the epiphone lp standard it's more affordable the the gibson one.

  • @Nobasic53 If you've been playing for a long time and are near the professional level then get a Gibson. But if you're starting playing now, then go for the Epiphone.

  • @FinalFantasyCenter I've been playing for about 3-4 years i play with my old squier strat but it's sound not so good.

  • @Nobasic53 3-4 years huh? Hmm i'm not sure what to tell ya. If you feel you're ready for a Gibson and have the money then go for it. If not, then Epiphone or some other Brand of the same league will be fine.

  • absolutely beautiful. :)

  • Has anyone the tabs for the highgain part.pls :D

  • @PointBackSarajevo No. Get yourself bussy and play them by ear. Don't be lazy.

  • @PointBackSarajevo - Yeah, seriously dude. That's what I did.

  • what is the price of the cheapest gibson les paul?

  • @hello32175 €1099. You have the ''junior'' series but these aren't serious guitars

  • @hello32175 in the uk its £600 your have to work that out into dollas$ or your countrys money.but to be truthfull the 600 one looks sort of cheap. and its this strang brown colour looks like some1 wiped there ass with it.theres also a red one but still not the best looking guitar in the world but a gibsons a gibson its all good.

  • I got a question for u guys and I hope u can help me I have this Gibson studio but i wanna trade it for some other guitar like the kh-202 from ESP or other guitar but I'm not sure if I should do it and also I'm doing it cuz after all this time I've been playing it my bridge pick is having problems sound fades away some times it doesn't even make any noise at all or when I switch to neck then back to bridge is stops working but it happens not everyday and I'm tired of it any suggestions please h

  • What year is it?

  • @maniactre

Take your guitar to a guitar store and get a new bridge pickup for ~ £99 english pounds and a few pounds for fitting. You could try a different one for a slightly different sound or get the exact same 498T as per original. Could get a DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan replacement. If you trade you will lose money and you could breathe new life into your old friend the Gibson Les Paul Studio. I would fix it first, play it for a while and if you still feel you want to sell it, then do so.

  • I love this guitar, it's what I use in almost all my songs including the 2 minute solo in "Play'n Rock'n Roll". In "I Am The One For You" is used the strat for the lead part--I just thought the sound would go better with the rest of the song.

  • it might just be a subconscious thing, but a gibson just feels better compared to its epiphone counterpart, and this is the studio compared to a epi custom.

  • DANG!! These have a real good metal tone!!

  • @tristandtj yes they do indeed!!!! Check out my two songs. I played both with this guitar including the 2 minutes solo in "Playing Rock'n Roll".

  • @321harold I signed up for this $100,000 Gear for Life giveaway on zzounds.com and if I win, I had 2 of these written down for me to get before I even watched this video and this video made me want even more of them! I'm starting to think this might be the model that Zakk Wylde made his signature off of.

  • whats the song starting at 0:57 ???? help please!!!!

  • Does it have a thick neck?

I'm thinkin about buyin one and upgradin it with burstbucker1 and 3. Would it be worth the effort?

  • @adamsvok Website says it has a 'Rounded 50s profile' so its probably reasonably chunky. I think they do runs with a thinner 60 profile neck reasonably often if that's what you're after.

  • @veitchy88 Thanks for the info. I prefer the original fat neck that's what I have on both my Epi LPs.

  • does naybody have problem with the 3rd string and detuning while playing? :/ it's eluding me :S

  • @ljukyguitar thats pretty much all guitars for you. The G string is an awkward string, and has issues with tuning on nearly any guitar. I know that there is filing that can be done to the nut to help, but I know little about it. Try heavier gauge strings. If you don't want to do that, what I've done on my guitar and works really well is I went and bought a G string that was a bit thicker than the one that came with my set. It holds tune a lot better for me.

  • @Jedidew thanks a lot, dude! i'll try!

  • own 2, love em. great tone and looks.....

  • i gota come up with the money because all i have is shitty guitars. and i really would like something nice. the only good guitar i have is an epiphone les paul plus top and that guitar sounds so... fuzzy. and unclear. i hate to complain, im just sayin that i want a nice gibson

  • @DRGK9

what kind of amp are you using? because the amp definitely has more of an impact on tone than the guitar your using. cause you can get a $15000 gibson standard and run it through a shitty amp and youre going to sound shitty. but you can run $300 dollar epiphone through a good tube amp and get some amazing tones. not saying dont buy a gibson, just that a new amp might help more.

  • @greendayrokr im using a vox ac50vt. itt was like 600 dollars and is a tube amp. and when i said fuzzy and unclear i meant compared too the studio

  • @greendayrokr oh sorry i mean ad50vt

  • @greendayrokr but if i have a shitty squier i can buy a littel more exspensive guitar so i dont need to buy a new guitar all the time

  • @DRGK9 Also try replacing the pick-ups, usually good pickups make your guitar sound more natural.

  • I prefer Fender Standard Stratocaster because it costs less and has a great potency

  • x']

  • This guitar is sexy, pal! Uuuuuuuuu, baby! xD Hehehehehehehe!

  • I orderd two sg's and sent both back. One had uncrowned frettes. The other had a fret job that wasn't seated all the way( you could see the tang).Well I sent both back and ordered a Epi Sg made in china. The workmanship of the Epi was way better than the Gibs.I wiil never buy a new Gibson again. Both Gibs had a long check list of inspection.

  • what the fuck?? That distorted tone is heavy O.o

  • @Daver869 It's all in the amp, really. You can make an ES-355 sound as nasty as a Ibanez or Jackson.

  • @Daver869 What do you mean what the fuck?" It's a Gibson... of course it's heavy... It's heavy, hard, mean, nice, crisp, muddy, big, bigger, beautiful.

  • @Daver869 holy fuck you are right. Thats like, the fattest riff i have ever heard,

  • @Daver869 That distortion sounds like shit

  • @SparcoC4 are you deaf??? this guitar is the best i played ever and the sound is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • @peter261289 YOU played ever? haha you aren't in the video. Belive me, this kind of tone I can get with 50 dollar guitar. It has like a fucking PURE distortion. Nothing else. The Studio's un some way are rip off, because it's low range Gibson, so, they don't set up guitars properly sometimes. They need MORE attention. Oh and... Study some 80's Japan guitars. Reissues aren't done correctly too by Gibson. (USA Models)

  • are you f..a..g?????? or retarded???????????

  • @daniel71731 The retard between us is YOU. You probably don't have or play anything other than Gibson. Or have heard nothing better.

  • @Daver869 It's called a les paul.

  • @Daver869 yeah man, I have one.... it is pretty fat

  • @Daver869 yeah sounds great!!!

  • You guys do remember who Les Paul signed with for his signature line, yes?

    Epiphone.

I love my Gib Les Paul Deluxe to pieces but I would never say epiphone is bad for a newer player or a player who can't afford a Gibson.

Plus, with a solid amp and good settings you can make an Epiphone sound identical to a Gibson. I have both the Epiphone Les Paul Standard (My first guitar) and a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe and I can make them sound the same, except for sustain.

  • @DJK290 people just need to remember that epi comes in different tiers of quality... OBVIOUSLY the les paul II ($200) sounds far les gibson-ey than then an epiphone les paul custom($1200), which definitely competes with a real les paul in terms of sound

  • @greensp4rk

    Totally.

Honestly, I'm not a pro or anything, but I know what I like and I would probably recommend taking a couple hundred off the guitar price and put that $200 towards a better amp.

Guitar is obviously important, but a nice guitar with a shitty amp will still sound shitty.

An average guitar through a nice amp can still sound good.

    ________

    GIbson Les Paul Deluxe

    Marshall JVM200

  • @DJK290 exactly

  • Seriously, you only pay for the name, I bought a Gould Eagle off Ebay for £85 smackers!!! Absolute bargain, its cherry red, beautifully made, rectangle inlays, but then I just upgraded the pickups to 81 + 85 EMG's.... still sounds amazing!

  • @geckron I don't care about the pickups, I'd simply swap them out for 57 Classics. Also the fretwork from what I hear isn't that bad, also it wouldn't phase me at all because I play my action super high, also I don't have a problem with t finish.

  • By the same token, I'm not slamming the Ephiphone. It's not a bad guitar to start with and who the hell in their right mind would buy a real Les Paul as their first guitar anyways?

  • I've been playing for well over 20 years and have always been a Gibson man from day one. I've owned over 12 Les Paul's and played dozens and dozens more over the years, so I have a pretty good idea of what a 'real' Les Paul feels and sounds. I recently played an Ephiphone Les Paul and went 'Whoaaaaaaaaaa', this is definately NOT a Les Paul.

  • the epiphone les paul satndart and this guitar , theres not much difference between them , and for people saying ¨gibson sounds better¨ , its almost imposible to tell the difference between those two sonicly . 80% of your sound comes from your amplification

  • id like it allot more if it had binding. but unfortunately thats a never

  • @GibsonGuitarCorp

I love Les Paul, but really, the LP ain't the world's most famous guitar. There's not a "world's most famous guitar" and if there was, I think that it would be the Strat, because it's the most versatile guitar.

  • @ColossalGuitarReview a classic strat with three single coils is definitely not the worlds most versatile guitar.

  • @MajkeTiTvoje

Add a humbucker to the bridge position and you see that it is!

  • @ColossalGuitarReview than you would have to enlarge the pickup hole, which is a big risky expensive job on an expensive guitar. You could just buy an ibanez with H-S-H pickups and use the coil splitter. a fat strat is a versatile guitar, but not more versatile than a ibanez rg prestige series or a vigier or something

  • Does this guitar stay in tune better than the Epiphone les paul plus top guitar? Which is better, the Gibson Studio or Gibson Studio Deluxe?

  • At the end of the day, placebo effects still work :/

  • how many people here that are saying an Epi compares to a Gibson have actually owned or at least extensively played a Gib? I own the Epi LP Custom Black Beauty 3, and i love it, but it is nowhere near as wonderful as even the Studio from Gibson. you're not just paying for a name. you're paying for the quality and character.

though in reality, "Gibson" is synonymous with quality and character... so you are paying for the name. but that's philosophy at work :)

  • @AustyChuck lol to me the epi acoustics sound better then the gibsons cuz there not as bright but thts jus me

  • @AustyChuck well i agree. you`re paying for the quality, but you gotta admit that it`s overpriced, i mean how much does gibson actually pays for making a gibson i mean the wood, the electronics, the craftsmanship ....they`re getting a huge profit.
