probably because they were incompetent and failed to clean and maintain their weapons properly, if that was the case then they probably did jam. i dont know about other soldiers or Marines but i've used both weapons and never had problems with them. The saw had the occasional jam, as do all belt fed weapons, speaking of which the USMC is replacing the SAW. look up the IAR.

Old ak47 is not top solution from kalashnikov rifles family. There many more modern AK that are very accurate and of course reliable, equiped with accessories. Statement about "troops trade ak for m4" is retarded. Where they trade? American weapons are already behind russian weapons in many areas such as air defence systems, ICBMs and overall missiles technology, arillery systems, aircraft airframe design etc. etc. - so statements about american "superiority" are far from being true.

AK (even old AKM 7.62mm)assault rifiles is MUCH MORE PREFERENTIA at close and medium range combat (most often combat situations at these distance) than f,ucking M4 with it's reliability and overheating problems.

OK. I just read in news "US weapons failed in 2008 Afghanistan firefight" (you can google the news). They claimed that M-4 assault rifles and M-249 machineguns overheated and jammed during intense firefight. Few American soldiers died in combat because malfunction of their weapons. Can this be true?

probably because they were incompetent and failed to clean and maintain their weapons properly, if that was the case then they probably did jam. i dont know about other soldiers or Marines but i've used both weapons and never had problems with them. The saw had the occasional jam, as do all belt fed weapons, speaking of which the USMC is replacing the SAW. look up the IAR.
