@yuskaisme Well technically, Cloud was not a failure, since he was affected by the Jenova cells and Mako energy, compared to Zack to who was completely unaffected by the Jenova cells and Mako. Zack was the true failure. However, because Zack escaped with Cloud before either of them were assigned an experiment number by Hojo, Cloud assumed that he was a failed Sephiroth clone during the original FFVII game, but since Cloud did participate in the Reunion, he was not really a failure.

From what I get so far is that he was exposed to Mako... thats why he was all in a coma and stuff when Zack was carrying him, and Zack giving him his buster sword while dying, actually made Cloud take over his memories? I dont get it, was it because of Mako that Cloud took over Zack's memories? Also, in FF7, Cloud THROWS Sephy into the Mako reactor... and in the alternate cartoon version, Sephiroth jumps in. WTF

@LovenVincent cloud was never a soldier he was a shinra trooper, he didn't deliberately take zacks memory and made it his own, he was infused with jenova cells (catalyst for memory shaping) by hojo and the events with zack merged his actual memory and zacks. For some reason the jenova cells failed to completely take over cloud and hojo considered him a failure. The english translation on the original game is kinda crap that's why it's really confusing. CMIIW

@ELICIT23 now about the mako..those who join soldier are showered in mako per say,this is the reason for their mako eyes..it gives a boost in stength and all physical well being,when the place was burnt down zack and cloud were put into tubes full of jenova cells/mako as part of hojos *experiment* on them..zack had no effects on him but cloud..did..alot,he even became ill over it so zack yes had to carry him..the buster sword had nothing to do with memories,cloud created that persona on his own

The whole Nibelheim story always confuses me, so let me get this straight, Cloud is a clone of sephiroth. He made the promise to Tifa that he'll save her if he gets into SOLDIER, he makes up the story that he is Zack so he can tell her hes SOLDIER, the real sephiroth is dead, but his soul makes Cloud steal the black materia and all that... Do I got it right?

Jenova is an alien life-form, a world destroying. According to the game's mythology, it travelled the cosmos devouring planets. Thousands of years prior to the events of the game, it landed on Gaia (the world of FFVII), a planet populated by the Cetra, an ancient race of humanoids that could communicate with the planet directly.

The Cetra, however, waged a fierce war with the thing (called the "calamity from the skies") and eventually managed to seal it away. The Cetra, however, ended up being severely depleted in number, and many of them quit their lives as wandering itinerants and began to farm the land. These Cetra slowly lost their magic abilities and evolved into humans, the original Cetra (now known as Ancients) thought to have become extinct.

What they found, however, was not a Cetra, but Jenova. Sephiroth was a direct product of this genetic modification (he was treated in the womb, hence why he looks like Jenova), hence his 'mother' ranting. All SOLDIERs are injected with J-cells and doused with mako, hence the superpowers.

@MotherPunker970 Yeah, they rebuilt Nibelheim within the four years between when it was burnt down and Cloud and Zack escaping. Tifa was carried to Midgar by her martial arts instructor during the incident, before Hojo/Shinra found Cloud and Zack in the reactor. This is revealed by the letter left in between the pages of Tifa's sheet music on her piano in the flashback sequence during the original game and in a scene in the Last Order OVA anime. Tifa never would have known it was rebuilt.

Sometimes he's making noises and able to walk with Zack helping him, other times (like in Banora, or at the Shinra Mansion) he seems completely unresponsive. It later seems that he has remembered some of the stories Zack told him at this time, so although it doesn't look like he has much of a conscious response, he probably has some minimal level of awareness most of the time.

Four years after Cloud confronts Sephiroth in the reactor Zack awakens in the laboratory and escapes with Cloud. Cloud is now 20. Then a year after running from Shinra Zack dies. Cloud is now 21. Three months following Zack's death FFVII's original story begins.

@yasmincoleman4545 When Zack half carries him, I think that he's kind of awake, but when Cloud was on the bed I think that he was completely out of it. Cloud would have to be kind of awake when Zack half carries him because Cloud takes steps, if he was completely out of it his feet would be dragging. I know for sure that in the cutscene when they were in the woods he's awake. I think that might be right. I hope this helps.

@TVlolz Dude, chances are Cloud probably wears boxers or something. I don't think that he was completely naked. They do that in movies and stuff too, for example someone gets in a car accident and they wake up in a hospital and they're now wearing a hospital gown. Something like that doesn't mean anything. Clouds previous outfit was soaked with mako and if Zack wouldn't of changed his outfit then he probably would've either died, gotten worse, or he probably never would've recovered.

@XxLightNTheDarknessX Mako addiction or mako poisoning (same thing) basically makes it to where you can barely move on your own and you're unable to speak in the severe cases. Clouds case is very severe. It happens when you're exposed to a lot of mako energy for a long time and your mind isn't strong enough to instantly fight it off. Clouds not high or anything, he's just constantly in and out of it and he's very weak from the severe mako poisoning. Hope this helps you.

There's lots of shots of him sitting around doing absolutely nothing interesting, hence why I directed you straight on to the ending scenes of which there are 4 parts, but I put you through to part 2 straight away because you wouldn't get part 1 unless you'd played the game. Cloud doesn't do anything interesting but sit, yet again, in part 1 anyway.
