I never was a big fan of dodge but recently bought one and love it but its a five speed feel like i might have a little better luck wth the tranny but its a 1998 the body is in excellent condition and it has 72000 miles on it and i paid 4500 for it.

I changed the tires on my truck to a slightly bigger set on the stock rims the truck came with. I over heard some guy say that it causes damage to the tranny. Anyone know how accurate his statement was?

I can say with certainty that my actual speed is a bit faster than what is indicated on my speedometer.

@262metal it depends... for example if you originally have 30" tires on and you put 35" on then, that won't be a problem, but if you have 30" and you put 40" on, that will certainly damage the trans...

I took my Ram Off-Road off-roading for the very first time yesterday. Usually, it is very clean and you would think it came right off the showroom floor. But, I spontaneously decided to get her a bit muddy. I gotta tell ya, IT WAS FUN AS HELL!!! Now my truck is covered in mud and it looks pretty cool. I enjoyed off roading in my Ram. I plan to do it again soon.

The OFF-ROAD trucks are the best 1/2 ton 4x4 Dodge ever made. Trussed 44 front end, skid plates, 4:10's , taller springs, quick ratio steering box, HD electrical, cooling, ect.

Pretty well equipped for a factory truck.

I think you mean 196,000 km. not 19,600km. but anyway. If it has an Auto Tranny, make sure its in Good condition or has been Rebuilt or Replaced. my 99 has 99,1xx Miles and Tranny is just starting to act up. The 318's will last Forever though, the 360's too, but the 318 is more Durable

It happens because the deflector in the HVAC housing is vacuum operated. When you accelerate, your vacuum drops and the spring that moves the deflector back goes to the default position, which is to your defrost, This happens on most 2nd Gen Dodges. There is a check ball that can be put in the vac line to the HVAC switch. I think you can get it from the local Dodge dealer. Hope this helped.
