He made that into such a big deal. Working in radio you should always be ready for something like that. Most radio stations have a 7 second delay between being aired, so that they can beep out bad words or drop callers, then they just talk for a few seconds to fill in the time.

With terrestrial radio, most of what you here is produced as opposed to live. Even some stations who try to pass shows off as live have editing calls that were done before the show took air, sometimes days before.
