If you leave it in a certain position for example position "SP2" does it stay in that position all the time unless I switch it? I wouldn 't want to mess with the controller setting every time I turn the car on and off....
Definately worth the money. Basically it allows driver to select throttle sensitivity. (cars with electronic throttle body) Just like M3's sport/M button. only better cause it allows three different setting. Eco which is much like your factory setting, then switch between crazy sensitive or mild throttle response.
it compensates for lag that is common in typical spring/wire controlled throttles. Check out the product in octobers issue of turbo and High tech performance magazine. Its one hell of a product!

so when its off it returns the throttle response back to factory style or lower than factory?

yes when the car is off the unit shuts off....then when you start the car you select the mode you want again..its a safety future
