heyy my friends say i have talent when i want haha but like i wanna draw stuff like this and i just cant (i have talent at drawing vincent van goughs flower paintings haha we did them for art) and well im left handed so would i start on the right side and work my way from the top to the bottom? and when we had scetch books do im terrible at shading...it always comes out like...not good haha it doesnt blend right when i try to blend it...any ideas what i could do??

(I just hope you dont cut your ear off) I have a question I'm going to be annoying but erm how do you start I get you start left side to right cause your right handed (as am I). i start with the facial outline,, maybe the hair or ear so you have a point to work from.... a hirt, start from the collar and sleeve maybe.

You've probably been asked this but how do you make your drawings look like the actual person?

I've tried doing portraits before and i did all the shading but it still didnt look like me once i had finished, i'd be very grateful if you could help!

I would say its definately getting the proportions right and angles. It can be very small detail like an angle of a line making the eye look different, or shading on lips... Tis tricky :)

HEy ya, I don't tend to draw other things than people, but i paint abstract things... if you look into my videos you will find those, and i do doodley things and pattern things too, though I have those on another website. heyy, i like ur work. i draw to, only faces really, and i can get them pretty accurate, i wish i could sho wyou! except when they hav eexpressions i find it difficult to capture them any tips?

hmmm expressions, well its about the subtle things ina smile or the eyes often, getting that shine in an eye or a drooping eye lid or something... and the lips of a person can make or break a drawing by totally altering those. So practice lips maybe... hard to say without seeing. You can see with the doctor and rose the eyes were important and the shading creating more drama in his face.

With Naithen (i am sorry i do not know how to spell) I believe it was so successful because you built everything up at the same rate. For instance when you do your other pieces you focus on certain parts at a time but with Naithen you built everything up at the same time. I have found building up everything at once works so much better then working on certain parts at certain times

Since roughly May 2007... Before that I didn't touch art things for 7 years. Seriously, when i stopped doing it at school due to us having to decide on options at such a young age which is stupid as i wish i could have done art as well, i just stopped.

This is a good little lesson. It's a nice overveiw, and helps alot.

And about your little smudging problem, some poeple I've seen use like a thin, clear sheet of plastic, and put their hand over it so they don't smudge the pencil.

YEah I know I recorded an audio clip about that but was oo long to fit in. I still find it smudges a bit sometimes.
