So the whey protein im taking is ISO-FLEX and its carb-free. You have me worried that my carbs and by protein wont balance out. Although I tend to get alot of carbs from other things throughout the day. Should I change my protein brand? And when exactly should I take my protein. Atkins makes you stink like a dead animal. It's bad for you. You need your carbs man or your body is just going to go straight to burning that protein for energy.
More so then just carbs, I say you need vegetables. A true atkins diet limits your veggie intake to get your carbs low enough. I'd say follow a low starch diet if you are training for fat loss, but still get in 10+ servings of green veggies each day.

yeah the americanized diet is greatly contributed to the large amounts of protein that people take in. we mostly get our protein from meats and dairy products which really hurts our bodies by adding tons of saturated fats. large amounts of complex carbs is much more important than the amount of protein that we take in.
Consuming that much protein on a long term basis (several years) CAN cause kidney damage in a healthy person with no previous kidney pblms a simple blood test once a year is an excellent idea on such a high protein diet. Always prefer natural foods instead of powders and bars and drink at least 2 liters+ of water/day also quinoa is a grain that contains all essential amino acids and combining brown rice and beans or lentils also provides all essential amino acids.
