Ha ha, Mr. Silverman is funny when he alludes to John Singer Sargent's remark," A portrait is a painting with a little something wrong about the mouth." !
By conveying the young girl's temperment and slightly sulky mood as well as her features, he really paints a great character study instead of a flat "portrait".
