  • I both drink and smoke and I'm 200% fit. I have to use that.

  • Winston is a good figure but, I wouldn't want him watching a movie with me....

  • " I neither drink nor smoke and am one hundred percent." "Well I both drink and smoke and am two hundred percent fit." The ultimate irony in that statement is that Churchill out lived Montgomery.

  • When is this on hbo again? Anybody no

  • The lady that plays 'Clementine' is lovely.

  • lol "ill declare war on japan" LOL! that is when u no you have power, that u can say something like that and then carry it out.

  • Montgomery was a fucking monster on the battlefield. Turned the whole war into a competition with General Patton to see who could kick the most German ass.

    Fuck yeah!

  • I love the scene 7:30 to 8:07 It soooo amazing and touching!

  • What is the deal w/the Clemmy of this movie? SHe looks like shes suffering from Sad mans syndrome. Always down in the mouth. I mean always. I know from books&biographies; she was tempermental and fought often w/winston. BUt this appears a bit exaggerated. Just taking notice. I love these videos of yours warwind. Where else can i watch and comment w/o someone shishing me.

    peace/paz/salam/shalom

  • "Don't tell me what to do Cobill, if I want to declare war I'll bloody well declare it" Churchill is the only politician in our nations history I have any respect for.

  • How is the VC pilot talking to churchill?

  • Comment removed

  • @mattegunnar its possible he was there for the award giving or he just wanted to meet the man, there might have been a public event or just a private talk churchill always tried to raise moral and he always visited the troops people he respected

  • "Prime Minister, you can't declare war because of something you've heard on the wireless."

"Don't tell me what to do Colewell. If I want to declare war I'll bloody well declare it!"

  • Winston Churchill-British Might incarnate...probably the last Great British leader. His will and heart saved Britain from Nazi Claws!

  • I love the collective "oh shit!" moment everyone has at 9:46!

  • IF I WANT TO DECLARE WAR I'LL BLOODY WELL DECLARE IT

  • It's odd that he should pronounce "Military" the American way and not the English way, i.e milatree.

  • What a touching scene at 07:06 when Winston talks with the wounded pilot decorated with the Victoria Cross!

  • TheWarWind thanks from Lima, Perú. I enjoy many times with this film. It's funny to see Churchill behaving like a mischievous child. It would be desirable to see more of the interesting encounters between WCh & Montgomery and WCh & Charles De Gaulle. By the way, I recommend you the french miniseries "Le grand Charles", about De Gaulle, of course. I'm 44 years born & I was born the same year Churchill died. Thanks again for the film.

  • 1:35 Montgomery: "I neither drink nor smoke & I am 100% fit". Inspite of his tea-totalling fitness Monty "only" lived to be 88 whilst Churchill lived to be 90..

  • doubt if he ever shaved himself. That's what his valet did.

  • Check out 'SARAH RYAN DELUDED' You will either love it or hate it!

  • Churchill was the right man at precisely the right time in History.

  • @meanmopar426 Yes to send his country broke in a war they couldn't win, even by winning they lost. They went to war for Poland(or so they said) what happened to Poland. This movie is a great example of history is written by the winners. The least he could have done is get a better deal out of the Americans as fighting on only served America. The Brits went broke because of WW2.

  • @12from121 Where are you getting your history? The British had to fight because the alternative would have been becoming a de facto satellite state of an Europe dominating Germany. Once fighting with the US and USSR if the British had somehow made a separate peace with Germany to (supposedly) avoiding "going broke" it would have destroyed the allied cause, shamed Britain for centuries, and destroyed Churchill (and rightfully so).

  • @Ranillon Wow, where are you getting your history from????

    1) Nazism never would survive Hitler

    2) Do you remember why they declared war? What happened to Poland?

    3) Who dominates the EU today? Germany's place in Europe was unavoidable

    4) Pearl Harbour never happens if there is peace as Japan won't fight the USA alone. All your Allied war effort talk is after 41 when I am talking peace in 1940.

    5) Hitler was an Anglophile, Germany has ZERO desire to take on British posessions.

  • @12from121

    1) Since it has survived Hitler as Neo-nazism EVEN after being shown so terribly wrong this idea is bogus on its face.

    2) They declared war to stop German aggression. Poland was simply the trigger. It could have easily been something else.

    3) Germany does not dominate the EU like Nazi Germany did Europe during the war

    4) The US wasn't in the war until Pearl Harbor so it already was at peace -- your point is non-logical

    5) Yet, they did -- your claim is self-disproving

  • @Ranillon Your 4th point illustrates you completely miss the point as my whole point was Pearl harbour does not happen. I suggest you reread it.. Comparing neo nazism which makes up less than 1% is also stupid, its like saying freaks exist. Your 5th point is not revelant as it was in response to a declaration of war and Hitler offered it all back for peace. Your other points are based on assumptions your right. Why didn't they declare war on an aggressive U.S.S.R.??? I know why, do you?

  • @12from121 Pearl Harbor happened because the Japanese weren't willing to accept the economic limitations the US was imposing upon them. If the Japanese were all about helping Germany they'd have attacked the USSR when it mattered. Likewise, the idea that Hitler was offering the British peace is at best a technicality -- he was offering "peace" if the UK became a de facto client state. That's surrender, not peace. And, the Brits didn't attack the USSR because the USSR didn't attack them - QED

  • @Ranillon ty for confirming what we have all feared, that you have done no reasearch and are spouting the newspaper view. Since you won't reread I shall repeat the Japanese would never have attacked without the Germans agreeing to declare war as they needed the bulk of American resources to be shifted to Europe. I encourage you to do your own reasearch rather then repeat the views of people who have a reason to distort history. The Germans had zero interest in the British Empire ZERO.

  • @Ranillon The US was not imposing "economic limitations" onto the Japanese, the US simply stopped giving American oil to Japan do to its Imperial conquering, which the US as a soveriegn nation had every right to do.

  • @njdevil281 Excuse me, but how is "economic limitations" different than "stopped giving American oil" (actually, it was selling, not giving)? You are pointing out a difference that is no difference.

  • haha they got montgomery spot on the guy was a beast of warfare they both were churchill and monty
