@neocryptz His real name was Will Lee. He played Mr. Hooper who owned the store. He died in the 80's, and instead of saying that Mr. Hooper moved away or something, they added that to the Sesame Street story. It's heart wrenching, but they had the courage to discuss death.

This video has to be at least 25 years old. Because it has Mr. Hooper in it. And he died in 1982. And the sideburns are the old style in mid to late 70's. And the gentleman that plays the Gordon started sometime around 1978. So I hope that helps you with a time line. And I used to watch it from the very beginning.
