what is the video used for this? It cannot not Hovas Vittne, their singing often does not match the vocal on the track.. sometimes they arent "Singing" at all on the video while the vocal on the track continues
Wonerful to see this video!! The melody line they sing from 0.46 to 0.50 sec "Raska klackar slå er nu som ett jehu är du" was also used in the chorus in Merano from Chess, with the lyrics: The sparkling streams, the bracing air
The track itself was recorded January 18th in the Polar studios, and released on 200 red vinyl copies only -as gifts to the guests at the party, and featured an instrumental version of Stig Andersons first hit 'Tivedshambo' on the b-side (which ABBA performed singing as a tribute to Stig 5 years later on a more amateurish video made January 16th 1986 for the portrait 'This Is Your Life' for Stigs 55th birthday on swedish tv). The 'Hovas Vittne' clip was filmed January 24th 1981.
Filmed at the Berns theatre in Stockholm, and directed by Kurt Hjelte, and shown on swedish tv May 3rd 1982 on a programme entitled O.S.A. (Om Svar Anhålles -the swedish equivalent of R.S.V.P.).
I love this song. Thanks for explaining that hovas vittne is about Jehovas Witness. I realise people make fun of them, yet I was told that they were one of the first to tell what the Nazis did re gas chamber and one of the first sent there along with homosexuals, mad people, gypsies and political protestors. It was not just the poor Jewish people that were gassed, yet they did not appear in any Spielberg film. Long live the "Hovas Vittnes!"
You're right about the Jehovah's Witnesses. I did see a documentary that stated thousands & thousands perished in the concentration camps alongside Jews, homosexuals & Gypsies yet not many people know this. However ABBA wasn't making fun of them. Like someone already mentioned, the title of the song is just a play on words & it seems like a cheery tribute to Stig.
Essential viewing for all Abba fans, and yes, it's the rarest Abba clip, and the last performance on video by them. Catchy tune. Too bad they never wrote English lyrics for it and released it as a single.
this video was performed in january 1981, to celebrate Stig Andersson's (manager) birthday and they were to take a break as group in december de 1982, but, yes is very very hard to find this video
A fun track,Agnetha & Frida obviously having a great time here!!!

Stig was so important to ABBA. They could not have made it without him.

RE: Marloisbewitched: according to a book I read, the word on the sign "Sticket" means a bridge of a song.
Can anybody who speaks Swedish tanslate this song? I heard the lyrics are really clever.

The song is not about jehovas witness. The title is a play with words. ABBA:s manager comes from a village in Sweden with the name "Hova".
