Hi StephenVyas sorry I'm french and I don't speak english very well but tchavolo has got an ALD's guitar and mandino have a Dupont. they have a lot of guitar so I'm not sure... ! but the guitar isn't important : it's the player !!

Tchavolo shows a player who's down to earth, has top talent, and plays music for the sheer joy of it. Easily one of my favorite guitarists out there.

By the way, that bass player is top notch! Anyone happen to know who he is? I loved his solo.

Que ceux qui ne l'ont pas vu se dépêchent de voir Swing de Tony Gatlif, Miré Pral est la musique de la bande annonce, et on y voit Tchavolo Schmitt apprendre à un gamin Les yeux noirs. Un film plein d'humanité et de tendresse, avec la présence de la fine fleur du swing, dont l'imposant Hono Winterstein qui assure des "pompes" rythmiques solides comme du béton :))

I think the third guitarist is Sony Reinhardt but I might be wrong: I don't think it's Romane, though - he would play a solo if it were...

"Mire Pral" means "my brother", in case you were wondering! In other Gypsy tribes, Mire Pral would be Mro Pralo. :)

It all depends on which tribe in which country, MichMichminator - I did make a typo - the fourth and fifth fingers on both my hands are partly paralyzed and I missed the "s" at the end of "brother". I have never heard "mo" as a word for "my" - you must have missed/typoed out the "r" in "mro". Devlesa!

hi as you know the sinti romnes dialect is different... you seem to speak an eastern dialect. "mo" is short for "miro"... "mo pral" (my brother), "mo djie" (my heart) and it is more common to use "mo" than "miro" from what i gather. cheers!
