  • Fito Paez PLAGIO with his song " LLUEVE SOBRE MOJADO"

Thanks mil for this COJONUDO video

  • My favorite Billy Joel song ever, so heartbreaking...

  • Why is it that this BEAUTIFUL, thoughtful and masterfully played song only has 102.000 views and a crappy piece of katie perrie chantalong noise has over 150 million? The masses have no taste...........

  • 4:40 - 4:46!!

    classic!

  • best harmonica ever!

    great song.

  • I always loved this song, perhaps my most favorite Billy Joel song. and it was one of the the biggest inspirations to learn Harmonica

  • toots IS the best

  • I love this live version. I remember seeing him doing this on the Innocent man tour in 1984 at MSG, it was just something to hear this live. I just wonder what happened to music nowadays. There are some good artists, but I truly believe we will never see someone with the longevity or level of catalog that bill has amassed over his career. Blame it on the music industry and their manufactured 2 year wonder artists.

  • Thank you to post this amazing song ! I REALLY LOVE 70'S, 80'S & 90'S. LIVE 80'S AND 90'S

    MEXICO MEXICO MEXICO

  • Simplemente espectacular. ¡Sobran las palabras!

  • wiz khalifa

  • This event did a total disservice to Toots....it certainly didn't take much to NOT HEAR some of toots playing!...this was all about Joel!...the audio was purposfully lowered on Toots in order to give Joel the spotlight.

    Really unfair!...

  • Billy hit #27 in Billboard, 8-25-84. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Billy!

  • timeless

  • billy does a kick ass version of brian wilson's"don't worry baby" here on youtube

  • let me just say Billy Joel is truly a great singer as well as piano player

  • Truly amazing and epic all rolled into one...

  • wiz khalifa - Keep the Conversation

  • The background singer in the middle looks like a young Ted Danson

  • This, my friends, is how harmonica is played.

  • Toots can really blow. He makes this tune. Of course Billy is great. But the arrangement is so fine. Toots is also a great guitar player and whistle so well that he has been recorded doing it. Listen to his classic Old Spice commercial some time.

  • I have always thought that this particular song sounds very Laura Nyro-esque. Anybody else think so?

  • Toots is a legend already !

  • Wow!Wow!Wow!Amazing!

  • Around 1:24 is that a video thing, or in the actual video, because it certainly sounds off.

  • @MM2Ghost It's a video glitch, if you go to "Leave a tender moment alone(live) billy Joel" You can hear how it really sounds, although the sound quality is not as good.

  • Billy Joel: An American Treasure.

  • @SteveFallon1 Dead right. Billy Joel is one of the finest american musicians I have heard. Americans should be very proud of him. This is an amazing version ot this song.

  • This is a beautiful live version of this song! I have always loved this song!

  • my all time favorite billy joel song!!

  • This is one of the prettiest songs in pop music ever

  • I love this live version. This was on the DVD version of "Billy Joel: The Essential Video Collection"

  • My favorite Bily Joel tune of all time,,,you can tell he's got booze in him, all liquored up.

  • Toots the best harmonicaplayer in the world!!!

  • My favorite song off of An Innocent Man

  • toots is still playing...88years

    respect!

  • @ardiesken That's great, I've never heard someone make the harmonica sound so sweet. Yeah the blues guys can wail on them, but no one plays it sweeter than Toots.

  • this was 1984,not 1983,such a tune,i was at this show at wembley arena

  • I remember recording this concert off Radio 2 onto cassette tape (my how times have changed) and never thought it was commercially available. By the look and sound, I suspect you recorded the simultaneous BBC2 TV transmission.

Never heard a Billy concert bettered since. I remember it included a career topping version of Goodnight Saigon.

    Happy Days.

    Thanks for posting.

  • 2:51 wtf?

  • @sjpc33 I'm guessing it was a formating error when it was converted to quicktime

    or mp4 file

  • @lambert247 haha no I'm talking about that guy in the blue dress lol

  • This is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard. I feel so at peace every time I hear it

  • Super post. Never tire of hearing it through the years, whether on the radio, cd or watching it on the Concert video.Billy Joel and Mr Thielemans knocked this out of the park. I still get goose bumps when I see the hand signal/eye contact, between the two, at song's end. I knew nothing of Toots' musical resume until THIS evening. What a Monster(in the good sense).A contestant from AMER HAS TALENT mentions Larry Adler and I find out he ain't chopped liver either. We've bn blessed with 2 Monsters!

  • Oh I saw this when it premiered on MTV way back then. Back when they actually ran rock videos.

  • Sometimes I think we all forget what and unbelievable Composer/Performer

Billy Joel Is. And he's right about Mr. Thieleman just the Greatest.

  • saw billy when storm front came out. he is the big man on mulberry street.one of the best concerts i've ever seen and i've seem many. definite in the top three.

  • This is a prime example of a song with timeless appeal. The songs today ... not so much.

  • June 1984 actually but let's not be picky. :)

  • greetings from Iceland, love this as much as 30 eyars ago:)

  • This is my favorite Billy Joel song

  • OMG! I saw this when I was a student at the Univ. of South Carolina walking through the Russell House student union in 1985, and I thought this was so beautiful that this inspired me to run out and buy a harmonica the next . I was and still am in awe of this! Thanks to "Toots" and Billy, I've been playing ever since!

  • genius.

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • i listened to this song straight for an entire summer in 19xx. i don't know why, it just felt right.

  • Karen B, this song reminds me you too!! I Love You

    HSK

  • beautiful song and he sings deep from his heart on this one always

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied!

  • the innocent man i think is the best album ever of Billy Joel. I so love this song and the combination of harmonica and piano blows me away

  • con esta cancion dr. House torturo a Wilson cuando se conocieron. Exelente eleccion!!

  • tenia años creo que desde mi infancia sin escuchar esta cancion me trae recuerdos

  • Ive always thought this song was good, but This version is Amazing. I'm really impressed.

  • He is definitely one of the beat singers eva

  • Great song, he sings it perfectly

  • nice!!

  • Wow... that happened a year before I was born... I'm glad I still have the chance to see it.

  • Why in the world is this song not on one of his greatest hits albums. Can someone please tell me.

  • @carsonboy130 It is on THe Essential Billy Joel which can nearly be claimed as that.

  • @carsonboy130 - Hi, this song can certainly be classed as a Hit, as it entered the UK Chart on 23 June 1984, as a Double A Side with 'Goodnight Saigon'. The highest position was only No. 29 and it stayed in the chart for just 7 weeks. Info. from "Guiness British Hit Singles" :-) I've not looked at the song listings for Billy Joel hits albums and another respondent says it's on an album 'Essential..."

  • @Oystercatcher011 It's actually from An Innocent Man - it was the fifth single released - only hit 27 on the US charts (the other singles - Uptown Girl - Tell Her About it - An Innocent man - The Longest Time - Keepin the Faith - all hit the top 20. This Night was the only single not to chart from that album.) Still that boggles the mind - six of the ten singles from Innocent Man hit the charts - can we say Billy Joel was a hit machine?

  • @jimraw1 And a 7th song from the album was the title song to a movie.

  • still beautiful.....billy!

  • can anyone tell me what key the chromonica is in? F?

  • think every guy can identify with this song and its sentiments!!!

  • This song gets praise due to Theilemans' harmonica playing, but how about some props for Billy Joel's vocals?

  • what a beautifull song Billy !!! I coul listen to it a lots ... really I could keep listening all day long...

  • wow!!!! been listening to billy joel since i was 12....this is perfect.......

  • I've been looking for this video for years! My favorite Billy Joel song, thank you!!

  • Great concert, ive still got my video recording of this 25 years later, tho i hope it hasnt deteriated too badly.I actually prefer this over the album version.

  • これは、昔テレビでも放映されました。

    ものすごく好きな曲で、胸にしみました。

  • What mi no comprendo ? ?

  • You cannot compare Lee Oskar with Toots, As you cant compare Paul Buterfield, James Cotton, Sonny Terry, Jason Ricci. Each is Great in their own styles. Although Im willing to bet they could all play various genre's, You still cannot compare apples to oranges. After All - a great apple does not mean that an orange cannot be great as well.

  • @Goldenoldone Well put.

  • I had the full concert on video too but over time sadly the tape has 'moulded' beyond playback - wish they'd bought it out on DVD!! Anyway it was 1984 but I agree, a fabulous version of the song so thanks for uploading it. I've been looking for this for ages and it's the first time I've actually found it in a search. Amazing. :)

  • What about Lee Oskar. Helloooo!!!!!!!!

  • Lol you're calling Lee Oskar better than Toots? The audacity...

  • This song is so much better because of Toots!!!

  • this is one of my fave records!!!!!

  • I had all this concert on tape but it got wiped.

Great to hear it again after all the years

  • i love toots

  • You can really appreciate the vocals once you try to sing it. This is a hard song to sing!

  • so so true

  • great song...

  • He's putting his heart and soul into this great!!! Jonchess

  • I love this and thought it was long lost! Thanks! This is better than the version on An Innocent Man!

  • listen to wiz khalifa -keep the conversation .. thaz how i came to know bout this right here ..the tune is really tight son

  • hollpoll, thanks very much for posting this song. I fell in love with it too. Long before I ever had a VCR so I couldn't tape it.

Wonderful to find it posted here & have made it a favourite. Thanks again & best wishes, Darlene

  • Billy Joel definetly one of my favorites...

  • ive got the whole concert on vid billy joel is absolutley amazing on it especially scenes from an italian resteraunt brill!! and angry young man i love u billy joel!!!!

  • Wow, thank you so much for posting! I've been looking for this for a very long time. "An innocent man" was the first album I ever bought. I was ten and I fell in love with this song. By my opinion this is one of Joel's best songs and this man's catalouge is very impressive. This version is great but so is the studiorecording. The string arrangement is soo beautiful.

  • So glad you enjoyed this clip, its my favourite too. Billy was at the height of his powers here.

I do wish he would make another pop album though, its 15 years since River of Dreams, but it probably never happen now

    thanks again

    Stewart

  • So happy to tell you all that Toots is now my friend on MySpace. He is awesome!!!!!

  • This version is the best! I will love this song forever.... *SIGH*

  • I was 10 years old when this concert was on. It was shown on the BBC and was allowed to stay up and watch it. Taped on VHS on the new invention that was the video recorder haha! Still have it.

Great stuff Billy Joel, one of the best live performers still with us.

  • He most certainly is..one of the greatest musicians ever.

  • so true

  • best song ever

  • Toots rules!!
