  • is that a chick?

  • Hi Brian, may i find out how did you mike up the session to make it sound really good?

  • Hey great job! What snare are you using?

  • what skin are u using??

  • You really had to speed the video up to play at this speed?

  • @RandomBeRad wtf he didn't speed it up, the cymbals move at normal speed

  • @kaide1000 you are very lucky never forget that God has blessed u with this kit

  • i also use a yamaha s.c, and kinda the same recording technique, check out my more recent drumming vids. p.s. your a badass drummer.

  • haha, i've got an inflatable dick infront of my kit as well

  • You did a really great job, just get a haircut!

  • Good drumming bro, but for your benefit (not anyone else's), relax your arms a bit, you'll get more accomplished with less energy. Loosen your wrists a little bit. It's like they say with dancing...loosey goosey.. :-)

  • dont listen to those fools who think there correct and all technical about drumming.. you good, keep drumming bro. and im getting the same kind of set next week

  • the way you play makes me think your have sped up the movie. but the symbal crash tells me diferant. relax i would start again from basics and just work back up but be more relaxed! your awesome but i would try to relax beause it will help in the long run :) hehe

  • use your wrist not your whole arm

  • your floor tom sounds almost dead :( don't you need to tighten a little bit the heads, specially the resonant?

  • Snare sounds really good!

  • WOW, your drums sound amazing!

  • Good recording. Only using one microphone?

  • he didnt speed it up, he is rly playing likea fucking robot

  • Dios que mal XD

  • what hi hat do you have? i like it

  • you should really use your wrists more and loosen up a little! Other wise great drumming.

  • stick break lol

  • you sped this up didnt you?

  • This kit, or the PDP fs ?

  • isn't there a video of the original stage custom???

    btw nice video

  • @666DrumKing

I have an original with the birch, falkata, phillipine mahogany wood right?

Don't have any videos up yet though.

  • @RadioJack well i don't know exactly what type of wood it is but you can find it at google (type: "yamaha stage custom" it's the wood colour one) check it out

  • that yamaha sounds the bollox!!!!! so glad thats what ive ordered!!! cant wait!

  • NICE!

  • im getting this with a 24x17 bass drum would that be better for rock and metal genres

  • What cymbals are those?

  • Session 16 and an old 20 avedis medium ride.

  • @pointlessvideomen

Can you play more than one note on the toms "ie some simple linear patters!...Didnt like the snair sound

  • you are a very good drummer!

  • What kind of heads are you using?

    great vid thanks Brian

  • Did your stick break at 0:51? Awsome drumming man!

  • Hi! I'm buyng a stage custom. Should I go for the 20 or 22" bass?

  • 20" is more for jazz or hip hop sometimes 22" is a really good all around kick. It's pretty much the standard in most music situations. But it depends on what you want your sound to be. As one would imagine, the 22" kick is a bit deeper and fuller. I personally like the 22".

  • is this from a partiture or you came up with it???

  • I came up with.

  • you look pretty stiff, but thats cool, like joey jordison xD just that he is a litle better.

  • what is that crash?

  • i think that its not a crash its a crash/ride

  • The crash is a 16 K Custom Session Zildjian.

  • looked a little stiff in the beginning there man.. but over all nice sounding drums ;D

  • use your wrist not your arms, you'll find it easier to groove

  • man, you should get another tom, you're really good playing :)

  • realy good, but relax a little

  • 2:48

    errm...What the Fuck???

  • is that a 24" kick? sounds really good? how many mics did u use for this??

  • Haha you guys got yours for a grand i got mine for 450

  • Nice Drummin & Kit!!

  • your floor tom doesnt almost sound is that on purpose or because its far away from the mic?

  • i love your style man.

  • i have the same kit and same color as well, and love it. The tom's are amazing, especially since i got it for a grand.

  • Haha 2:13 - 2:14

  • very nice feel but you have to relax your body

    keep drummin' ; )

  • hey man! i have the same kit i want to eliminate my REMO PINSTRIPES, tell me about some heads 4 tmy old stage custom!

  • nice

  • Hi,

Nice playing, what mics are you using?

    Thanks

  • I'm using an AKG C3000 as the overhead mic and an Audix D6 on the Kick drum placed directly in the hole in the resonant head . Everyone complements the sound, those two mics are the reason the kit sounds as good as it does.

  • Nice playing!

    Kit sounds great!

  • relax your arms and shoulrders

  • play however you want, these fools aren't as good as you are.

  • @fawkesband I think he know how to do his job ;D

  • this sounds like powerman 5000 drummer :] like exactly like his kit

  • stage customs sound great for the money

i played one in a studio in it sounded like a £1,000 kit

but they can be had for £600

    great value for money

  • i thinking of getting a Cranberry red, Stage Custom. 24 12 16 18...shall i?

  • how do you get your toms to sound like that?

  • probably a lot of what your hearing has to do with the placement of the mic. I have evans genera 2's on the batter heads, nothing fancy.

  • nice playing! almost looks sped-up

  • sweet. i just baught a new yamaha stage custom, natural wood colour and an extra 16" floor tom for £650 - great value from this awsome guy in a shop

  • like your style. really nice hi hat feel

  • awsome man awsome ps it dylan

  • does ur drums have mics

  • i shud think so.. if not then fuck! nice kit! lol

  • verry nice!

  • very nice drumming...but i dont like the tom sound!!

  • aww dude toms sound ace

  • what heads have you got on them?

i have the same kit with evans ec2 coated

  • Are coated heads better than clear heads? I have a Yamaha stage custom but i dont know if coated heads work.. What do guys recomend like for gospel music, clear or coated?

  • is that the way it actually sounds or did u edit the sound

  • yeah thats with a mic overhead (seen in this shot) and a mic on the kickdrum. straight into the camera.

  • What are the sizes of your toms and kick?

  • 12 and 14 inch toms and 22 x 20 kick.

  • this is a great exampe of... its not what you look like when you play.... its that your kit and the sounds you produce ARE FUCKING AWSOME!!!!!!!

    your drumming=New Subscriber!!!!

  • nice kit, nice head, but you no resonance on those toms. way to dry... I don't see anything on them, so it might be mics.

Advice: see the sticks as extensions of your arms, relax and put some soul. Obviously you can play but you need to be one with the kit

  • nice sounding kit and sweet chops bro!

  • at 0:53 is that a piece of the stick flying after the 16th notes on the high hat?

  • wow! lol how did u notice that! lol. u must have 40/20 vision lol.

  • wdf look at his hair it blatently has been sped up...his hair goes wierdly fast

  • its not sped up, look at the cymbal move. does it look sped up?

  • great sound of all set man

  • What drum heads have you got on that snare? I've got the same kit but can't get the snare drum to sound anywhere near that good.

  • I have an Evans Genera Hd Dry head on the stare. The snare is a Pearl 5.5 free floating brass. It tends to be a really live snare with a lot of natural overtones, which is why I like it and why i got it. But the Hd Dry head tones down the overtones enough for a good balance.

  • cool playing style dude! I want to see you do a drum-and-bass beat at at least 160bpm. that'd be way cooler. XD 999

  • oh wait... i see the mic now. haha

  • jeez this sounds awesome. and i dont even think there are any mics hooked up anywhere!

  • This is how he looks when he plays drums, all the time, ever since I knew him. It's his style; looking like he is about to burst any second. He is also a jerk.

  • Unless you really want some extra toms or something, I'd stick with this kit. Sounds tight, fits well with you playing style. Use the money to invest in some extra cymbals instead I'd say.

  • yeah this guy deserves a new set

  • el sonido de tu set es realmente bueno, me encantan las stage custom!!

  • how do u get good sound quality?

  • he has one condenser mic above the rack tom

    must be a good one

  • he records with mics not with camera

  • wtf are those fills at 1:30 :|

  • are these yamaha advantage stage custom neavous? somebody reply to my message. oh yeah i almost forgot five stars for the drummin man.

  • thast not... you can tell by the lug. its a stage custom advantage

  • Hey that sounds awesome! What about the resonant heads?

  • Awsome job man!! Good sound!! What heads are you using?

  • Thanks! They are Evans g2 coated on the toms. Evans Emad on the kick and and Evans genera hd dry on the snare.

  • Yeah, I have a Gretsch Catalina Ash set. And, Gretsch makes the best drums out there!! I've never really cared for satin finish coated toms. But, hey, whatever floats your boat. You sound awesome!

  • His stick broke at the end. LOL!! Long live drummers!!

  • HAHA yeah i was waiting for someone to notice. .

  • You sound great. But, it's mot all about speed. Do some simple fills. Mix things up. Creativity is a drummers greatest ally.

  • Is like the Stage Custom that they made in the 90's? Or is the more recent line? I'm asking because I may buy a used one, but have no idea how they sound (Except this vid, in which everything sounds great!) Thanks

  • I'm pretty sure the line started in the early 2000's. I first heard the kit in 03 and loved the sound of the kick and snare. and the toms were great too when tuned up well. Price to quality ratio on stage custom advantages is pretty remarkable. I've heard of a lot of studio engineers who like recording this kit. but try to play one before you buy it. I am a big fan of tama starclassics and pearl masters series. play, listen then buy. good luck!

  • your drum set sounds nice

  • Sound is great but you are very uptight.

  • the only thing that's good about yamaha drums is their snares. that's all.

  • funny you mention that on this video . . cuz this is a Pearl freefloating brass snare. but your right they make good snares. my yamaha snare is my favorite.

  • With all do respect,(if any)Your an IDIOT to think Yamaha doesn't make good drum sets. Some of the worlds best drummers play Yamaha. What do you play?

  • i love this kit i play on it in my drum lessons i want one

  • If you flick your right arm more you wont have to raise it so much to get power.

  • I like the sound of the snare.

  • you look so tense.

  • nice pattern men...well, try to practice moreon your wrist to look more relaxed and be confident with your drumming anyway it's awesome...:)

  • ur trying to hard and try to play more relaxed like apldapid said. cool though.

  • How did u record?

  • nice and quality sound>>> nice

  • Hey what kind of skins are those?

  • They are Evans g2 coated on the toms. Evans Emad on the kick and and Evans genera hd dry on the snare.

  • are you using stock reso heads or did u replace those?

  • actually yeah the only resonant head i replaced was on the kick drum which actually made an incredible difference in the sound of the kick. 30 bucks very well spent. all the toms have stock resonant heads though.

  • u should be arrested for wearing offensive trousers lol

  • try to play more relaxed

  • hahaha yea man you're forearms are a bit too stiff...use your wrists more!!

  • Nice, brutha. I got the same kit. sounds good, man.

  • My god, you dont look relaxed enough

  • nice playing. i was interested in gettin a stage custom, is it worth £400?

  • nice work man ,hit hat sizzles were good, which hi hats are those?

  • Drums sound great man just need to tune up that floor tom it sounds really dead

  • Good!
