Both cars set the new Outlaw 10.5 record on that run. Steve Kirk Jr. left first and set the new 10.5 record then Johnson reset when he went through the finishline. Kirk was able to get to the semi finals that weekend I believe. For the people saying piece of shit track if you now anything about 1/8 dragracing that was at Huntsville dragway where all the records are set.

Looks like the Camaro was breaking traction through the entire race, and skidding with his nose pointing right. When he backed off the throttle, he slingshot into the other lane.... not good driving .. but he held on from there, lucky the car didn't flip. The driver of the orange car did a good job keeping it on the track.

ezcondition they are both state of the art outlaw 10.5 backhalf cars, and the track was on kill that weekend. Huntsville Dragway is 660 feet of the hardest hooking concrete in the southeast. If you think that track is shit, then you either don't have a handle on your racecar or you're a retard... and I think I know which one it is.

He stayed on the throttle so he could get a little bit more ahead of the other racer. If he didnt do that it would've ended in a t-bone and a big ass dent in the side of the other car..

He probably still had the throttle open because he was trying to steady himself while spinning in the crash by putting his foot down, which was on the throttle at the time. A lot of good cars have been destroyed by people who "left their foot on the throttle".
