  • hahahah

  • Is Stills on coke?

  • Good interview.

    Thanks.

  • Neil never gave a shit. Cool

  • ...the songs of this era are priceless. As a teenager, it was all about the music. great musicians, and for me, a wonderful time. thanks for the memories.

  • Sure are a lot of angry Right Wing dickheads out there.Relax morons. It's ancient history now.

  • Neil always had a menacing look to him, yet he's such a peaceful laid back guy.

  • Love the comment from Stills, "so, we were already prepared..." Hahaa

  • nature and music, folk singers, great songwriters

  • 2 legends..........love it!

  • fuck you and your ridiculous lies, Stills. None of your myth making stories is true.

How exactly did you met in '66 in LA? Oh yeah, you crossed eachother on the highway during rush hour, made a suicidal u-turn (which is not only difficult but just plain impossible) and then pulled behind Neil's car, who came all the way from canada to find you but was just about to give up. And then both of you just simply pulled aside, all in the midst of thousands of cars. Uhu. Right. This is a hoax!

  • @Zoommagicrooms... why are you watching a video of ol' hippies ?Guess you envy people who can express and feel love?

  • need more footage like this

  • Oh Neil, you are so funny- I love the way you express yourself, true beauty.

  • You grasshopper! Smack Smack!

  • most important why the f is this broken into 3 parts? i mean give me a ..... well you know.

  • Guessing....1993

  • Again- what year was this interview???

  • What year was this interview?

  • does this really need explanation??? among the most influentual musicions of all time , or of a generation

  • @noblsht I love just listening to the dialogue. Stephen has always been uniquely eloquent. And Neil always cracks me up no matter what he says.

  • The R&R Hall of Fame ceremony for the Buffalo Springfield was a real joke, instead of getting the group back together Neil was a no show and up onstage was a quizzes CS&N band doing "For What it's worth" instead of hearing the vocal blend of Richie Furray & Steven Stills a real disappointment for the true fan.... Thanks for nothing Neil & Steven ..FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

  • What did Neil mean by grasshopper?

  • I think he was just being a smartass to the cop, after he called Neil an animal :o) Im not totally shure thou

  • cos of the glasses the cop was wearing he said he looked like a grasshopper.

  • i LOVE neil young!!! but there is no way that you can compare "having long hair in the 60's" to being black in the 60's

  • true--but he actually said "a vague inking"

  • good thing neil young didn't say it.. Steve Stills was referring to stereotypes. Back in the 60's if you had long hair walking down the road next to a guy with a buzz cut the long haired hippie guy was going to get searched. Kind of like a black guy driving next to a white man. which one is getting pulled over first?

  • neil young is the best folk rocker.he's been there and done that throughout the sixties man.

  • This is cool..... Great Music came from these guys, Unreal music. Music that has carried the generations of today. These guys rock. And own the forest. But that is there business.

    Way cool musicians, the best.

    Timo

  • Uh? These guys are nuttier than squirl turd.

  • all the more reasons for people like myself to love 'em!!

  • And that's how we like 'em

  • and to think........ these guys never got along when the buffalo springfield were together, now they're laughing together. It's amazing how ego takes over when you're younger and fades when you get older

  • @danthatcan2 I get a kick out of these clips for the same reason. Stills and Young are like an old married couple. No matter how many bitter break-ups they've had, they're always irresistably drawn back together again.

  • Yeah, Snotra........it might maker us a greater nation and a better people. Republican schlong!

  • Neil Young is sitting "Indian Style". Oh wait, you can't say that anymore. Neil Young is sitting "Criss-Cross Apple Sauce". That sounds much nicer, Now I can sleep tonight. Being sarcastic, but thats what my 3 yr old daughter just learned in Pre-School. Kind of ironic that the US is so much more "Politically Correct", when it sure seems like there is LESS UNITY amongst its people?

  • It's also been called "tailor style" for centuries, no Indians involved. You would have to tell kids what a tailor is. And anyway their clothes are made in sweatshops by people their own age for 10c a week.

  • Not just kids clothes are made in sweatshops, and i know what a tailor is. I'm 12

  • GreenOilers - Good for you!

  • unless you were beaten by the fuzz , you werent rockin in the sixties , i got stomped in frisco by the sfpd at a viet-nam riot , they used a truncheon on my nuts , and i still cant have babies ...

  • aahh, sorry man : '/

  • I never knew about Neil's violent treatment by the cops. Thanks.

  • most unrated than Neil...but genius...

  • Neil got his front tooth bashed out because he called some Cop a "Grasshopper"??????

    WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least he's laughing about it now.....

  • That was one stupid cop, Neil, for knocking your tooth out just because you called him a "grasshopper"? That cop sure must have suffered from an enormous inferiority complex to take offense in such an emotional way. Then again, isn't it a fact that the reason men & women become cops is to disguise their inferiority complex? I hope you sued that cops ass off, Neil. Please tell me you did.

  • A very cool interview. It's always great to hear stories from the past told by people who were there.

    Love the music too. :)

  • If America was as awful as CSNY made it out, they would have become bones in the California desert long ago. But, like so many artists, they view America as both a dragon to slay and a cow to milk.

  • And isn't it both of these things? They wouldn't live there if they didn't see something in the country, but undeniably, some improvement must be made.

  • Fighting old wars? What's the war in Iraq except today's Vietnam? Too few groups make their music political - or even philosophical - these days or perhaps its just the record companies never touch the more radical musicians. Keep rocking, Young and Stills - the messages still need to get across!

  • Yeah squitzy, you're probably right. They should "shut up", dont question the satus quo, dont point out the wrongs in society, dont be individuals, just be passive, politicall gullible, philosophically shallow sheep like you. How DARE THEY wish to enjoy life in peace. I mean, how DARE THEY not get killed in Vietnam, right?. I could say a lot worse than that, but you cant talk an idiot into being smart. I just had to get that off my chest so I dont carry it around with me, thats all.

  • To Dangerous Bastard: I do question the status quo. I always have. Stills and Young are incredibly rich people who ARE the status quo. And why do you call yourself a dangerous bastard? Go ahead and say "a lot worse than that". Seems that you have a whole lot of anger to get off your chest. Let's hear it.

  • Still waiting for a response from you, dangerous bastard. Tongue tied are we? Or are you reconsidering what "status quo" means? Perhaps you are venting your anger other ways.

  • These guys are still going on about, what they consider, fighting old wars. Wow! A friend of my brother's was killed in 'Nam when he was 19 while these clowns were having the times of their lives.

Despite these two old fools acting like idiots, I still love Buffalo Springfield.

They paved the path for many to follow, including the Eagles.

Stills and Young should just shut up and try to improve on what they did way back then. Neither of them have yet.

  • What should they have done differently squitzy? Are you saying that they are to blame for the deaths in 'Nam? It always amazes me how you can love a band and their music but not respect the members and their opinions.

  • To Sambandsbeardet: They had nothing to do with deaths in 'Nam at all.

I respect all the members of the band for their music as the Springfield. They were brilliant. Stills and Young got a little too political with CSNY and they took all that to the bank. It was the "I hate America so much that I am going to get rich from it and become just like the Americans that I hate" game plan. They succeeded. And they still gloat!

I'm not religious at all but I respect Richie Furay much more.

  • Dick Cheney was having the time of his life too, with 5 deferments. He believed in that war, and there were many like him.

Stills and Young didn't believe in it.

  • Two real rock legends forever.

  • Poor Neil! Sounds like the LAPD tactics haven't changed much in 40 years.

  • Liked Buffalo Springfield! Buffalo, New York & Springfield, Illinois! lol

  • i love him

  • Great stuff. Where I live it still is the 60's. Long hair makes you an object of ridicule, even violence, but I wont cut it. Very backward mentality.

  • Actually its not THAT bad here. I was just pissed off when I posted that! lol

  • That's OK. We all get like that once in a while.

  • Man, where do you live??. I mean, even country stars have long hair now.

  • Great interview

  • Born in LA--Remember late 60s, early 70s when nazi LAPD would march in boots in formation outside college-sponsored rock festivals and harrass anyone and everyone in jeans with long hair. They are gone now and the rockers live on!! Neil Young gives the best concerts on earth!

  • The Best Rockers ever!!

  • Stills' hair is weird though. He was as bald as that when he was 24... then it suddenly stopped falling out and he's looked the same ever since.

  • neil is the best. stills look like he is on the verge of a mullet there. great interview.

  • Neil Young is a true maverick; I don't like all his stuff but respect him for doing what the hell he wants-that's Rock n Roll and he's one of the most distinctive guitar players ever. genius.

  • I love his song "Mr. Soul" from "Buffalo Springfield Again" (their second and best album). One of the all-time best rock albums.

Included "Rock and Roll Woman" and "Bluebird". I liked "Everydays" too, but it wasn't a single.

  • I think neil young is one of the only true rockers left today who will never cut his hair..never sell out of what he firmly belives.

"Keep on rockin in the free world"

  • Right on. And even more important than the length of Neil's hair is the fact that he can never be seen in any beer commercials, or selling Nike! An example to us all :-)

  • almost cut his hair.

this is a bit too much of old men's stuff though, I'd rather see the older material as it has more energy in it.

  • And Stephen too! :)

  • He did in the 80s! But he's excused for that :)

  • The Best... Wouldn't it be a great day... To hear real music again... Wouldn't life be easier & happier..???
