Makes you wonder. If this show had made it and David Garrison had stayed on the show, who would have been cast in the role of "Steve" on Married with Children? Also makes me wonder if the grim reaper (Ted McGuinley) of TV would have ended up on there in the show's later seasons.
This series was primarily created because Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's chief programmer, wanted a "star vehicle" for Jason Bateman in the 1984-'85 season. It just didn't work out that way (he had to wait until "VALERIE"/"VALERIE'S FAMILY"/"THE HOGAN FAMILY" was a bigger success). Ron Leavitt & Michael Moye, the creator/executive producers, remembered David Garrison when they later featured him on "MARRIED WITH CHILDREN" in 1987.
This show was on Saturday nights on NBC.

Was this a spin-off of "Silver Spoons" ? I remember Jason bateman played the same kind of character on that show also.

@ChadLRico Not a spin-off, but yes, this is what he did right after Silver Spoons.

You know what I think a lot of the Embassy sitcoms from the late 70s-early 80s have in common? Kids get top billing.
MrLogoman007 1 year ago
@MrLogoman007 Not really, "Who's The Boss?" and "The Facts of Life" used Tony Danza and Charlotte Rae respectively as top billing.
