  • This show was on Saturday nights on NBC.

  • I loved this show.

  • a good show

  • Makes you wonder. If this show had made it and David Garrison had stayed on the show, who would have been cast in the role of "Steve" on Married with Children? Also makes me wonder if the grim reaper (Ted McGuinley) of TV would have ended up on there in the show's later seasons.

  • I love Jason Bateman!!<33

  • I kinda remember there was a really funny episode of this show. Can't remember what episode or what was so funny about it. God it's been so long

  • Who could forget that famous band 'The Dregs of Humanity'?

  • Ernie Sabella as the uncle who you you alert the police about when he asks you if you like pistachio nuts and balloon animals.

  • Featuring Ernie Sabella, the voice of Pumbaa from "The Lion King."

  • Used to watch this on the USA Network as a kid when they showed reruns during the day...thanks for this!

  • guys that did Married with Children.

  • @madball2600 As well as helped one contestant win $100,000 on The $100,000 Pyramid.

  • This series was primarily created because Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's chief programmer, wanted a "star vehicle" for Jason Bateman in the 1984-'85 season. It just didn't work out that way (he had to wait until "VALERIE"/"VALERIE'S FAMILY"/"THE HOGAN FAMILY" was a bigger success). Ron Leavitt & Michael Moye, the creator/executive producers, remembered David Garrison when they later featured him on "MARRIED WITH CHILDREN" in 1987.

  • Ernie Sabella was also the voice of Pumbaa from The Lion King movie.

  • crazy, i wouldn't miss an episode of this show...why oh why oh why did it have to go off the air??????..lol

  • I love this theme song.

  • This theme song really kicks butt! Long live the 80s!

  • I used to download episodes of this on my ipad back when it first came out.

  • Was this a spin-off of "Silver Spoons" ? I remember Jason bateman played the same kind of character on that show also.

  • @ChadLRico Not a spin-off, but yes, this is what he did right after Silver Spoons.

  • OMG I remember this when I was a kid I remember Mat saying to Norman,

"Norman, Norman, Help me i'm little"

A Classic and a blast from the past!!

  • Kinda looks like David Garrison is sitting on the Bundy's couch in this opening.

  • @parlet yep the backround too.but this came first so reverse it

  • You know what I think a lot of the Embassy sitcoms from the late 70s-early 80s have in common? Kids get top billing.

  • @MrLogoman007 Not really, "Who's The Boss?" and "The Facts of Life" used Tony Danza and Charlotte Rae respectively as top billing.

  • @jnadle1 Good point.

  • the fat naked guy from the subway episode of seinfeld who also played the country club owner on saved by the bell

  • good show

  • The pilot to married with children; a total classic.
