What's the hurry? I thought reading was supposed to be a relaxing activity. I never speed read, and I've read close to 100 books during my recreational time in the past 5 years. Everything from Impressions of Africa to the Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is still at the top of my favorites list, so I'm glad it was in this video. Wonderful story. I recommend it to everyone. Go through it slowly though. It's not meant to speed through.

I speed read and Its no skimming whatsoever. Its quite easy.

I've read a five hundred paged book in two days.

The more you read, the faster your eyes become, and your brain gets use to cramming information into long term storage.

there is evidence when people try it and it actually works like me, i had a problem with internal monologue

first you have to stop the internal monologue if you have it

then you exercise ur eye muscles like your arm muscles so your eye can read faster

it takes time, few months at least. Internal monologue is not easy to shut off. it takes a lot of practice

was reading around 200 words after months of speed reading using software + other tips from the net i was able to read close to 500 words

There is a lot more to speed reading then this. Peripheral vision is part of it, but you also have to understand that you shouldn't really be reading at all. Instead you should be quickly skimming over the words and letting your brain put it all together. Eye movement is key and this is what this video is trying to improve.

This has nothing to do with speed reading, but everything to do with subliminal messaging. The first scene creates a star that would appear in a pentagram. The second scene creates a circle for the star. The third scene discloses the color of red-typical color for a pentagram. The fourth scene uses negative words like 'death', 'condemn', and 'judge', which rightly represents Satanic language. I stopped at that point as it is obvious what this person is trying to do--manipulate the mind!

I think you need a sharp mind also. There is no point in reading quickly if you do not properly understand what you are reading. Many times we have to read things that require thinking and concentration, not just reading.

you have to practice every day for at least 20 minutes. it helps sharpen your mind regardless of how smart u originally were. after about a month or so, you'll notice. it's definately not a waste of time.

Reading quickly actually amplifies your comprehension. Although we'd love to consider ourselves superior intellectually than others, the mere act of thinking this way goes to show our lack of introspect. Anyone can speed read, and everyone can benefit from it, including you. Reading by definition is thinking and concentration. The only time I find speed reading doesn't work is when you are reading comedy or a math textbook.

I took an Eveyln white course this summer and my speed increased double, and a bit more. Courses are much better than books or self-teaching...if you teach yourself something wrong in one way, practice is pointless.
