@Josipish That's one of my favorite movements in the anime just show how badass zoro is he can take extreme damage and still put up a fight through sheer will power. Had zoro been a full strength he would have been able to beat arlong.

And at least the Tenryuubito usually don't venture much farther than Sabaody, whereas Arlong would run around the East Blue being a tyrant and kill anyone who fought back.

PLUS you could attack a Tenryuubito if you don't care about the consequences, as demonstrated by Fisher, whereas Arlong would just smack you in the face and break your skull, or some other demonstration of his own strength.

And that was just trying to get ONE target that COULD NOT FIGHT BACK. Try a small army of targets that actually CAN fight back.

Another point is that the admirals are all DF users, and mermen can control seawater. And that Arlong would sacrifice some of the lowly grunts.

Hell, Arlong could defeat somewhat better than normal people by GENTLY THROWING WATER AT THEM. He even hurt Luffy with the gentle throwing of water. THAT says something.

And please note that Logia users are weak to Seawater, just like all DF users.

Mermen can change ocean currents, sinking marine ships without visibly doing anything, launch giant reverse-whirlpools, among other possibilities, of seawater, and can use that to engulf and attack DF users in their moment of weakness.

Throwing seawater is basically throwing a portion of the ocean.

Aokiji = use moar seastone. Or Salt. Or throw Giant blocks of frozen seawater at him as a dstraction.

But Salt sounds pretty good since he can only turn into Ice and snow, which Salt would melt.

And Aokiji's freezing powers aren't THAT fast. At least not on a large scale.

Sure, Garp > Luffy > Arlong, but all that is going by them being on land when they're fighting.

Most of them, in fact, could NOT conquer the east blue alone. Conquering it requires actual planning and cunning, as well as making sure you've got pretty much all your bases covered. Arlong bribed the marines so they'd ignore him for the most part.

I mean, one of the core parts of the series is fruits that give you superpowers if you swallow a single bite of them, and lose their ability to give powers if a single bite of it is eaten. And another core part is actually referred to as "The ocean without logic".
