This one flew right over our house the day before I filmed it. It was so low, you could practically count the rivets on her. Yes, very loud. I was in awe; that's why I decided to take a run over to the airport to try to find it. We live near the Zephyrhills, FL airport and when it took off it circled right overhead and I thought it was giong to skim the treetops.
They had the B-17 and the B-25 there. I wasn't sure what one was what when I filmed her.
The plane you filmed is the 9o9 B17G flying fortress. It is a mock up of the original. This mock up never saw combat. I got a ride in 2003, what a ride!
You're right but I wasn't aware of that until I got home and did a search on it. I really should update the audio on that video but what the heck.
I would love to ride in that. Maybe in one of those gunner 'bubbles' would be awesome. I've always wanted to ride in a B-52 but my boss says they're real shakey and messy - oil leakage. I still want to experience it though.
