India was impoverished, with roughly 25% of the worlds gdp brought down to 3% (Bengal being an EXCELLENT example). As far as becoming Independent for roughly 70 years, being in over 5 wars since then, our military is strong. I don't know much of how the Indian Military is like, but they will have their own cultured military system soon, give time. India's developing.

@SuperUncleruckus The GDP of India was brought down to 3.8% around early 1900s due to British. It was as high as 25% during Mughal Rule. Aurangzeb's treasury was twice the size of entire Europe. And even Army was it was very strong. Evidence, when Tipu defeated them twice in late 1700s. India was very rich, after Mughal Decline, and British take over, it was stripped clean. Anyway India is very behind and I don't see any future.

India is always at risk with Pakistan, since they've been attacked 3 times by them, and one minor war with China, and now they are supplying each with nuclear arms. The only things holding India back is the pressure from the World, where a country with over 1 billion people must be a superpower, it invests in the World class, something like the military, not the more important things like the poverty.
