I want to start making my own games, I am new to this, so If I play a free demo and build a game. but then want to transfer my game to a new software for better stuff, is it possible? just seeing if this is for me. I also want to build my own ragdoll too, is there a design software out there to build ragdolls and games all in one? how do I find the new software out today? I want something to make a GREAT game. pleas send me info on this message. dont forget, I am new to this.
wait you only do this as a hobby? man, the video game world is missing out big time then. you could easily be a professional. been watching your other vids. great job.
Quite impressive. Looks almost like rpg maker 3, but way way better. The character upgrade reminds me of FF X's sphere grid system. Very innovative. I'm impressed.
3D gamemaker looks like a uber develoment platform. I was going to learn c# and XNA but you have to basically design a game engine from the ground up. As long as this product is well documented in depth, such as books, then this is the way to go.
I understand that c-lite is a compiled unlike lua or python, although you can move onto C++ using their SDK. To make a decent game though, you need a team (coders, art assets, level design, etc).
i havent had time to learn any language i am giving up learning them i mean what am i going to get out of them, maybe some day i will do it again, but not right now atleast cause i am making a game now in RMXP its cool hehe
i wish i could learn this, i can animate, program websites, code, but don't know how to make #D games because i never got the chance to try. I tought myself by researching on youtube.

GameStudio is crap, it doesnt require that much knowledge since you can do pretty much everything in the level editor that comes with it. I know: C++ GML HTML PHP SQL CSS JavaScripts(aka ECMAscript) and I'm also 13 -.- ...I started when i was 10 though
yeah im 13, but I dont need to spend my life infront of the computer to learn those languages, its actually pretty easy and infact, shortly after that post I also learned XML xD
i see what you mean learning progarmming isnt that hard, but it takes time to make yourself perfectly clear with it. i right now i am learning C++ and Ruby
havent started the Ruby yet, but i can simple basics of C++ and now i can finally write in a programming program
Lol yeah, everyone thinks C++ is gonna be easy when they firts start lookin at it. I know most of C++, i tired learning it when i was 13 too but dropped it - i found i wasnt that into game design then, but now i know some DX, most of C++ and C#, just gotta practice with some projects.Switched my attention to modelling for now though. But hey, stay on the C++ man! Im 16 now, and wish i learnt C++ sooner.Dont waste time with game maker kits,if you wanna get propper respect, you gotta code youself.
do you how to know alot of coding to make games like this or will they give you the coding or can you find it on the fourms. Also can you make the games online
not bad,ive finally figured out how to get started, and i still have little trouble, but at least im a step closer to getting my own mmorpg, nice game seemed like a grandia type battle system though...
that isn't the only way U can do battle!
is it!

The world and model editors do not program your game. ;-)
ShoreVietam 2 years ago
yeah but they do most of the work
SnakeInaLake 2 years ago
Most GS users use other programms than the build-in tools, because there are more features that help creating awesome models.
You tell me you'd rather shape a 3D models using the windows editor instead of a 3D model development tool?
Actually model creation takes some time indeed, creating textures that fit wenn and animating is a whole bunch of work.
However to compare both is kinda hard because it heavily depends on your skill and your quality goals.
ShoreVietam 2 years ago
how is that a reason for it being crap?

are you honostly 13, you have to be some kind of brainiac or something learning all those when your 13 is like spending life on computer

You shouldn't waste too much time on lite C. Try maybe python or something like that to start off with.
