  • Affirmative action promotes the inadequate now the inadequates run the country

  • @Mrstrongisland01 A couple of things 1) I don't believe in affirmative action 2) Barack Obama is not mentally inadequate - mixed people are genetically superior, just like mixed plants, or mixed horses or anything. His capacity to grasp concepts and comprehend ideas is superb. 3) I don't like Barack Obama as president, I love him as a person. - so go ahead with your stupid, ill informed ideas about "inadequate" you don't know the FIRST thing about this country, Barack, or psychology.

  • The race war may be over but we are heading towards Class Warfare with a Marxist point of view towards the economy. Where the rich became rich from exploiting the workers. (Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell do really well proving how capitalism has done more to eliminate poverty then anything else)

  • WHEN KEEPIN REAL, GOES WRONG...

  • whats up with the japanese otoire sign

  • Affirmative Action is RACIST AS HELL! The best man for the job should get the job. Not cuz your your black.Trans-Racial Adoption Studies. Race differences in IQ remain following adoption by White middle class parents. East Asians grow to average higher IQs than Whites while Blacks score lower. The Minnesota Trans-Racial Adoption Study followed children to age 17 and found race differences were even greater than at age 7: White children, 106; Mixed-Race children, 99; and Black children, 89.

  • @jackfire55 yay im mixed and my IQs 130

  • @lapopo13 DID I SAY ALL MIXED KIDS HAVE A LOWEST IQ SCORE THEN WHITES! NOT I DID NOT! There are blacks that score higher on IQ Test then whites. But on the Average whites score higher. So on average a white person will be the better man for the good.

  • @lapopo13 Now if u are black or mixed and work your ass off to get the job. And u show u are the better man for the job. I would be pissed if someone say the only rest u get the job was cuz of Affirmative Action. Cuz u were black or mixed. I want the best man for the job to get the job. And not cuz the color of hes skin. Even more so when it comes to like firefighter and DR..If u are sick/dieing do u want the Dr. that was just give the job. Or the one that was the best for the job.

  • Yeah... this is racism against white people. .::::.unsubbed

  • @iarewanthungry seriously, how dare you! I am NOT racist against white people...I love white people....this is absolutely absurd and ridiculous...the whole notion of racism is absurd in and of itself...I don't know all white people, how can I judge all white people based on my limited experiences! I could never say a whole group is _____ the problem is that what I'm saying, my main point, may somehow cause you to have some uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. I'm only speaking truth.

  • @AmanJohnK 1:01 1:39 3:00 3:45 3:53 4:53 explain these please then, im open-minded and open for discussion, these are coming off wrong is what im saying

  • so minoritys, if someone tells you your automaticly disadvantaged because of your group than do this: 1. flip them off 2. get an education, nomater how hard it is or how long it will take 3. use your education to work your way up the ladder until your a sucsessful buisnesman (or buisnesswoman) 4. laugh at the person who said you couldint do any of this from the 50 story skyscraper that you own! :)

  • i hate it when people say that white people are more sucsessful because there rich. im white and i wasint handed a silver spoon ether. the reason minoritys are worse off is that people tell them that because of something that hapened in their past they have no future!

  • @jdz416 well, white people are factually richer...and have more wealth...now, I never said ALL white people.

  • @AmanJohnK while statistically white people are wealthier as a whole, that does not equate to individuals (there are plenty of poor whites), not to mention that being middle class is hardly an advantage now and days(our middle class struggles every day to maintain their standard of living). Also to answer your question, yes I expect minorities progress as well as anyone else, If you're will was stronger you would be able to over come your surroundings not buckle under the pressure of life.

  • @TheOldSchoolCrisis yes you're right, there are poor people of all races...about 8% of whites are poor, about 20+% are black. Middle Class is still here...people just complain b/c they're not rich...I'm SO tired about hearing about the middle class...our REAL (adjusted for inflation) standard of living has risen by 300% in the last 50 years....poor people today live better than some rich people just 50 freaking years ago....I'm tired of everyone complaining...be grateful.

  • There's a scholarship for black people only, that went something along the lines of "if you're black and going to college, we'll pay x percent per blah blah blah." in a more drawn out form, which still exists. A white male college professor of psychology, decided to make his own, as a study, and he essentially copied and pasted the scholarship, but replaced "African American" with "Caucasian." each time. He was brought up on charges for racism. He believes the results speak for them selves

  • @chilledkirby the problem is that people think discrimination is bad...it depends on how you discriminate.... are you mad at youtube for discriminating against videos where people get their heads sawed off? are you mad at the military for discriminating against fat soldiers being in the special forces? are you mad at colleges for denying privileges to a group whose whole existence has been of privilege for hundreds of years? I saw that psychology professor....it was really dumb and silly.

  • I was almost sure you would bring up the fact that white women statistically benefit from Affirmative Action more than black men and women combined. Oh well, good video regardless.

  • The reason some black people don't agree with affirmative action is the same reason why most white people don't. They've been manipulated by the media into believing that AA simply means "give jobs to underqualified blacks" when it's actually not the case. It's much more complex than that. And the sad part is if you took time to research you would have the answers and you wouldn't need Aman to waste time trying to educate you. But instead you leave comments about a subject you don't understand

  • So affirmative action doesn't JUST give black people a job. In fact, most times the applicant has to be OVERQUALIFIED not underqualified! Yes you may be white, middle class, have a 3.8 and studied abroad in Italy....but if someone is a minority (WHICH INCLUDES WHITE WOMEN BY THE WAY), has a 3.9 and lived in a poor neighborhood their entire life with no money or tangible opportunities then if they get the job how is that discrimination?

Same Ignorant comments by foolish people. Read a book!

  • @trueking2008 AMEN!!!! ... I love you.

  • Aman, I see you've tried your hardest to educate ignorant people but to no avail. Having an argument with white people about Affirmative action is like going to the zoo and screaming at a lion. It will just growl back at you with no fucking common sense or understanding.

Did you know that Affirmative action was created to help WHITE AMERICAN FEMALES in the first place? And did you also know it STILL aids them to this day? You people need to educate yourself before leaving baseless comments.

  • and don't blame me for being born in a country where people take the initiative to create and produce and make money.

  • dude, how your ancestors got here HUNDREDS of years ago has ABSOLUTELY no bearing on what the black population has today. don't blame the state of the black race on "white, anglo-saxon protestants." i am all of those things and i've never done a thing to put a black person at a disadvantage, nor did my ancestors. there comes a time when you have to stop blaming others for YOUR failures and start taking some responsibility for you own life.

  • @gramtheman19 you're completely ignorant to be honest... it was hundreds of years ago yes...when did Civil Rights take place? I'm not blaming anyone for my failures - not that I have many - I'm actually doing quite well, extremely well, but I can still see where our society has problems... but I love the US... all this is probably coming from someone who knows NOTHING about the subject... all of a sudden conservation "practical" people become the biggest idealist about "Equality" LOL

  • @AmanJohnK okay, i'll agree that our society has problems. i'll also agree that it hasn't been that long since "civil rights." what bothers me is when black people use programs like affirmative action as a way to get reparations for something that didn't happen to them personally. you aren't DUE anything just because your black, which is what affirmative actions boils down to- "give me a job or i'll call you a racist."

  • @AmanJohnK and the one thing that you don't think about is this: given the choice, business people will always choose the most qualified applicant. why? it's good business. if the white guy is the most qualified he gets the job. if it's the black guy he gets it. the jewish woman, she get's it. that's how things work in a free market.

  • That course is a waste of time taught by leftists. But I agree with your view on AA because without it, the smartest of minorities may NOT be given a chance to go to college or earning a decent living.

    Now Jonste24 is a moron.

  • @WTF200009 it wasn't a waste of time taught be "leftist" that's really ignorant thinking...where there is a discrepancy between two groups, there is often some truth that each side is misinterpreting... no need to box people in... and this course was about a lot of things people wouldn't normally learn, but probably should learn.

  • That course is a waste of time taught by leftists.

  • That course is a waste of time taught by leftists.

  • The thing I don't get is when white people say racist things bcuz of Affirmative Action. Last time I checked the owned the House and the Senate. Affirmative Action hasn't been overturned bcuz they haven't done away with it. Plus white women are the main beneficiaries of Affirmative Action. Does that give somebody an excuse to be sexist too?

  • @GGLebo23 I think that AA should be based on who needs it the most financially & not race, ethnicity, etc. Hopefully this will make some whites stop whining about reverse discrimination when they have been doing quite well in this country. Sure study after study has proven that ppl often discriminate on the basis of race (White sounding names give you a twice the advantage over "blk names" or WM w/ a criminal record have a better chance then a qualified blk man) whatever to make em stop cryin...

  • If I listen to this guy defending his class position, then why should I, as a white middle class man support policies that exclude me from good schools and good jobs? In the USA today, its about social and economic inequality, not race or ethnicity. Make affirmative action based on social class regardless The original ideas of the US are equality and freedom, not tribalism and political correctness.

  • @naughtyfeline ????

  • Keeping it real and making fun of white people, good for you. Black Power! Kill Whitey!

  • @Jonste24 I never said kill whitey...it's funny because "whitey" has killed in a magnanimous manner every race of people on the planet.

  • @AmanJohnK Exactly! We should kill whitey to bring balance back to the world!

  • saying you have to pay more taxes if you hire someone who is white is racist as hell and it is unconstitutional.

  • @AEVautomatic I never said that. I think you're using an old argument you've had with someone else...trying to see that same argument in my argument, and then portraying me and this other person who disagrees with you for DIFFERENT reason in the same light as "racist" and "unconstitutional".... because if you think I said that in my video - you're delusional

  • @AmanJohnK That is what affermative action says. You agree with affermative action. By default that is exactly what you are saying.

  • This makes me sick

  • @AEVautomatic =)

  • thats not even true you idiot.

  • It isn't supposed to be this way, but it is. White men 18-45 are denied jobs because a black man or a woman or a Jew applies. I've been hired just because I happened to mention I'm Jewish. When I wasn't going to be in favor of someone else less qualified when they thought I was just a white guy. If everyone who applies and is most qualified is a white man 18-45, then those are who should get the job, but it isn't equality, it's further promoting discrimination. It's further separating races.

  • I totally agree. I say the WASP's give this great land they built over to the immigrant trash that destroyed it and take over another continent ...say Africa? There's obviously little to no culture there, so those few savages running around with Russian made AK-47's can go find a job in the U.S. working as a bus driver, or some other field which requires little to no skills or intelligence, where they can sit down all day and collect a paycheck.

  • @1:38 Chris Brown?

  • i am neither for, nor against it....however, I think the intentions of what a plan like affirmative action is trying to accomplish is a good thing. There are def. problems with it, but until they come up with alternative solutions...you can't deny the racism, sexism and discrimination that has occurred in the past and still occurs in the present.

  • affirm.action is a LONG TERM plan, that is meant to PROMOTE DIVERSITY.

No, it doesn't mean someone who is unqualified gets the job because they're a minority race vs. a white person who is qualified. No, its not meant to discriminate white people. It's creating diversity to inspire future generation, in a culture where women still make only 70cents to every 1 dollar a man makes, and discrimination and disadvantages to minority groups are still prevalent...

  • beautiful

  • And further, Equal Opportunity is what is needed. It gives everyone an EQUAL chance. AA basicly gives people things because they're black, and you're arguing that it is somehow fair? That's descriminating against people who AREN'T black.

You also said that you were confused that many black people don't like AA. That's because unlike you, they have some pride and they want to be hired for their merits not their skin color.

Screw you, you anti-WASP piece of garbage.

  • @naughtyfeline

Funny, my family actually owns a business, and I personally have owned a business. "AA" doesn't give people a leg up really, there are many black people who are just as, if not more qualified, for a job than their white counterparts but don't get the job because white people have always liked to discriminate, hell everybody does - you have a lot to learn. And you're right, I'm Anti-WASP, I'm anti every stupid division that has causes this world torment for millennia

  • You know what, when you say "anti-WASP" just say what you really mean. White people. You're anti-white.

  • @naughtyfeline

Oops, that's my other account - I'm not "anti-white" ...my mom is white, a lot of my best friends are white, I dated a white girl...but would you be surprised if someone was Anti-WASP? I mean for centuries, white people have raped, murdered, pillaged, and enslaved virtually every civilization on Earth? Before white people it was someone else, but above and beyond, the current oppressor of the world happens to be the "White" "Western" world - don't be so sensitive and naive.

  • No, the current oppressor of the world happens to be Arabs. Slavery still exists in the arab world and in africa. Blacks INVENTED slavery and spread it into many other cultures.

If you want to see rape, murder, pillaging and enslavement, take a look at what is going on in africa right now. Murder? Try drug violence in south america. Pillaging? Try farmers in south africa being murdered and raped because they're white.

How about instead of being angry at white people, be angry at the CRIME.

  • @AmanJohnK

It's that right there that promotes further discrimination. How many of these white people do you know personally who are raping murdering pillaging and enslaving? Isn't this just another unjust stereotype? History shapes the present, but it does not rule it. Would you agree if I said that just because recent history has shown Blacks and Hispanics to commit more of these crimes than anyone it means they all do? Not likely. Every person is their own, not a slave to their ancestry.

  • @naughtyfeline I'm so sorry you feel this way.. you're completely wrong, and your logic is completely misguided. I feel sorry for you actually that you believe I'm anti-white.... that's unfounded and false. Don't be so sensitive, I'm making objective observations at some of the atrocities committed by that group and how it affects people today... if you don't like it, find a time machine and take it all back.. everyone is trying to move on, but this video doesn't mean I don't like white people

  • I agree.

It´s ok, if all people have equal CHANCES,

But it´s racist and stupid to expect equal RESULTS.

  • You've obviously never owned a business. A business owner wants someone who is qualified, skilled, reliable and trustworthy to work at their company.

I don't see why black people should get some kind of 'leg up' over more qualified people who are applying to a position.

It should be based completely on MERIT, not skin color.

And if you want to sit around and talk shit about "WASP"s, then don't try to act like you're not biased.

  • Black descent and Hispanic surname are considered minorities. Asians dont count. Minorites commit the most crime score the lowest, turn good schools into shitholes. Its a genetic matter. Minorities have the savage crime gene. America with a growing minority population will never be able to compete with the rising powers of India and China. They just dont have it in their genes.

  • @illegalalienscum because you are uninformed I won't be mean to you.

the simple fact of the matter is that your attitude is one of ignorance, maybe you're not stupid, but you're extremely ignorant to think that this problem is "genetic" I doubt you have ever even read an article in a biology journal to justify your claim. you're just angry and unaware of the truth, so I'd encourage you to not jump to conclusions....

  • I favorite this because of humor. Funny as hell.

Im REALLY torn on affirmative action.

  • @AAAhmed46

thanks! yea it's hard to understand AA unless you really study the issue and have a strong background in economics and politics - one requirement for a functioning democracy is low disparity between classes, and no cleavages - therefore AA is essential in the long run.

  • Oh and two more words.

    Asians.

    Firefighters.

  • @LiberalHuntingSeason

LOL Asians "the Model Minority" now not all asians are the same - explain to me why Chinese are disproportionately among the poorest, with rates comparable and at the LOWEST END WORSE than blacks, but at the same time at the highest end of the income scale, they are also disproportionate.... explain this if you really want to have a serious conversation.

and I agree with you about the firefighters....

  • Are you fucking kidding me? It's totally about quotas!!!!

    The facts outweigh your opinion.

You need to drop that "dieversity" class and take something meaningful.

  • @LiberalHuntingSeason

What in your OPINION is meaningful? propaganda against two opposing people coming to agreement, I don't know if you'd be willing to compromise your views in order to make progress - you just want to bicker and have everything your way, the way you're all abrasive towards this video.

  • if you havent seen it HBO did a doc. on i believe no child left behind act. it brought up an aspect of culture. example "i aint going to class that shits for nerds." or something to that effect

  • Are you kidding me? It seems to me like youre saying that someone more well qualified wont be passed up for a job based on race. This happens every day. What about the fire fighters exam that was thrown out due to low performance by minorities? Thats reverse racism. If everyone wants to be equal then start by ending affirmative action.

  • @skilzthatkilz422 I don't think everyone is equal, that's just some BS that sounds nice but in theory doesn't work..do you want to chain Lebron James down so he can't jump so we can be equal - should we get rid of nice schools to be equal with crappier ones? Who the hell cares about "equality" do you want a woman firefighter carrying you down 8 flights of stairs if she's not as strong as your average man? I say, deal with the problems to assuage and curb the negative outcomes assoc. w/poverty

  • LOL SO WELL SAID!!!

  • The false assumption that this youtuber made was that all minorities live in the ghetto. Their is Caucasians that live in poor area's this is why we should adapt affirmative action to all races and base it on such things as income.

  • @druidaic1 try speaking to me directly - I NEVER made that assumption, it's just that poverty and race happen to be cleavages in society, and not cross cutting - for ex. on average most black people are poorer than white people - this is a cleavage, cross cutting would be if poverty were independent of another important identity or demographic - for ex. all women, rich and poor, getting treated unfairly when trying to get jobs. My mom is white, I'm half - I grew up on food stamps...

  • Women being treated poorly in the work place is reduced. Also your point about the Native Americans you make the point that "we" gave the Native Americans infected blankets, which the pilgrims did but no-one today is from the 16th century so whose "we".

  • @druidaic1 women make about 77 cents that men make per dollar for equal work - but that's not the point, I'm just showing how some things in society are highly correlated. Well it's not like the blankets were handed out with the intention of killing them - but still "we" as in White Anglo Saxon Protestants, and more recently all acculturated Europeans are who I am talking about - the colonizers basically

  • the mainflaw is that its too linear. what about classism? what about the perpetuation of racial tensions caused by affirmative action aka uninformed masses. also...whens the end point? no endpoint says racism will never end. thus a self fufilling prophecy occurs OR racism is natural. but what do i know about class struggle and racism...im white

  • love the native american joke scene, so true

  • @walkdeep it is the truth =) unfortunately =/

  • you are truly amazing i couldn't agree more!! i am so glad you commented on my video, enabling me to discover your videos. 5* and favorite for both of the videos i've seen thus far

  • See, Your heart is in the right place but the system uses it in a negative way. Because of this, People see it as a way to undermine hard work. Be honest with the problems with this bill. It has its pros and cons.

  • I <3 you.

  • The only problem I have with affirmative action is that it makes assumptions based on the race of the applicant. This is racism. Much of the imbalance in monetary status could be a result of prior bigotry. This does not mean however that attempting to "reverse" this is the correct course of action. All efforts must be made to negate race based assumptions.

  • I would rather affirmative action be based solely on economic means. That way you could help poor minorities and women without discriminating against poor and lower class whites.

  • jotunobsidianeyes <<--- yea, I agree with u on this, great point

  • Yeah, that's also been one of my biggest problems with the current affirmative action; the knowledge that a disproportionate number of white males are CEOs and millionaires is of little consolation to any poor white man living paycheck to paycheck. Finding a way to pull everybody up from poverty should be the real focus, although that kinda transcends affirmative action and would represent a much greater social movement.

  • @jotunobsidianeyes that is what it's based off of...the main benefactors of AA are white women.....

  • I'm an ugly guy, a fact that's clearly disadvantaged me all my life making it more difficult to engage in relationships, obtain popularity, and find employment. Now although I happen to be a white male, I'm still going to have less success in all of the above areas than handsome black, asian, and native american males. Should I not also be entitled to a form of affirmative action to level the playing field?

  • Although that's a disadvantage, ugly people are a majority and pretty people are a minority. You may loose a job spot over an equally qualified male of a protected race because you're less attractive, but that statistically shouldn't happen often. And if you can't be popular or have a tough time in relationships, that's because of you. The story of women and men and attraction is a completely different issue and has completely different reasons. AA is about where you come from. Read up next time

  • First off, ugly people aren't a majority; the majority of people are moderate to attractive. Only the super-attractive are a minority. Second, even if ugly people were a majority, they would still be a widely discriminated against majority like women. Plus if AA was actually about where you come from, it wouldn't just benefit minorities; instead it would help ANYBODY from a poor background. Not to mention that a lot of people who can qualify for AA don't actually come from bad backgrounds.

  • You can effect your relationships, popularity, and even your appearance. Ugly people are ugly not because of facial appearances, but because of what they wear, and how well they take care of themselves. So AA is not for you since you can control the playing field you're talking about, Minorities can't exactly go back in time and change the whole view of a country, or the world, and you can't choose where you're born. Most Minorities are born in places with less resources to move up in this world

  • Being ugly has NOTHING to do with what you wear or how you wear it. If your body isn't as attractive as somebody else's, the same suit will never look as good as you. So what control is left? Reconstructive surgery? That's the same option available to everybody and it's the wrong option. And it's not just most minorities that are born in places with fewer resources, it's most of everybody. Almost every single person in this country is in the same boat. Why just help minorities?

  • Well for starters, Everyone in this country controls what they eat, and if they choose to exercise. So if your body isn't attractive, it's because you don't want it to be attractive. I agree surgery IS the wrong option, healthy diet and exercise is the way to an "attractive body". Check your sources, Poverty for Hispanics 21%, White 8%, Black 24%, 97% of Fortune 500 CEO's are white, you tell me how we're all on the same boat. Most of White's are 4th or 5th generation college students

  • For starters, that's a shocking display of intolerance. People don't "choose" to be born short or to have awkwardly shaped hips/shoulders/whatever or even to have genes that make them more likely to become fat any more than they choose their race, gender, sexual orientation, or social standing.

  • For most Hispanics and Blacks it's 1st or 2nd generation. And how on earth would Ugly people be discriminated against women. Women account for less than half the labor force, and they comprise 2.6% of Fortune 500 CEO's. To top it off, women who are employed for jobs of higher positions or professional jobs get paid less than a male doing the exact job. (That goes for salary jobs, not wage).

  • Women account for over 50% of the population yet, as you just said, are woefully underrepresented in the upper levels of the workforce and, as you note, are underpaid. Yet they're a majority.

  • Women, and other races are UNDERREPRESENTED....so why do we have AAP....um for under representation? Yes...that's why...duh

  • I did a bit of looking into the women/men pay gap. It looks like women get paid less because they choose jobs that pay less.

  • P.S. you're "clearly" not disadvantaged, your personality is. I don't know how often I walk around common places, (the mall, best buy, restaurants, etc) and see a very unattractive guy with a very attractive women. It blew my mind so much that I did my research to figure out why. If you do a little bit of research on women, you'll see that attraction for men is based on looks, and for women is based on much more than looks.

  • So you think a handsome man who walks up to a woman has the same chance as a moderately attractive or unattractive male, all things being equal? And did you ride in on a flying unicorn today? If you did a little bit of research, ANY RESEARCH, of any kind, you'd realize that people make snap judgments within a split second of meeting somebody. That means you've been judged before you even open your mouth, unless you're a very fast talker. And that's just instinct, not outlook.

  • I applaud you on your "research" if that's what you did. You're correct, people make snap judgments. And if you knew what snap judgments were based on you wouldn't say that, cause that doesn't aid your argument. A snap judgment is made on looks. Yeah so if your dressed in a lanky t-shirt and messy hair will stains on your clothes..."ugh get away" says the person. But if you're dressed nice and have confidence in your walk (this excludes physical looks) then the person will wonder whats up.

  • slacker65000 <<-- are you talking to me? women are attracted to resources: money, fame, power, influence unless they live in countries that are better off then women are more likely to be attracted to things like personality, and looks..... men are attracted to the youngest most fertile looking female with a certain hip to waist ratio, big eyes, small chin, and partly submissive --- these are evolutionary stable strategies because they've helped us adapt to where we are today....

  • @mrherban overlook AmonJohnK he is just afraid if they take away affirmative action he will never get a job.

  • robotluigi <<--- why would I be afraid to not get a job.... I would go toe-to-toe with anybody and out perform them..... I dont even let myself receive racially bases scholarships because I don't need them because I can compete with anybody. you really are ignorant...so tell me Robo - what happens when 30% (or more) of our population is disenfranchised and can't buy anything.... that's right, all the rich people lose business...there's a HUGE incentive to help others

  • this guy talks about equality, but he is a racist. i am white and native american. his comments about white people killing native american's is offensive. me and my hispanic girlfriend both think affirmative action is wrong. AMANJOHNK if i sound hatefull it's because of people who blame all their problems on white people. you ever hear someone say the white man is keeping me down without knowing any white people. i bet this guy says it too when no white people are around

  • robotluigi <<--- no, the more accurate statement would be that I'm prejudice against some Western Europeans, most of which are dead =P Racism is the belief that a race is inferior.... I don't think that at all, therefore I'm not racist..... prejudice is a negative emotion associated when you think of another race, and discrimination is the actually act of discriminating,,,,these are IMPORTANT distinctions if you're going to go name calling

  • Amanjohnk is just a racist sack of shit. By the way, thinking that a race is superior is not the only way of being racist. If you hate others for the color of their skin, you are racist. You blame all of you problems on white people. There's a black man in the white house, for fuck's sake! If you can't make it now, it's because you're not trying.

  • Affirmative action doesn't support UNQUALIFIED candidates lolol!!! It would be right wing nuts that would think otherwise......... Good vid

  • One more thing:

    Minority definition-

The smaller number; -- opposed to majority; as, the minority must be ruled by the majority. [1913 Webster]

Source: The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48

So basically, just because someone is "treated like garbage" they are a minority??

I think not. Know your definitions.

  • Ignignokt2 <<-- I can't take this...WEbsters is NOT a credible source for definitions on race relations.... a minority is not just a group who has less numbers than the majority, it's not liek that! I explain what being a minority REALLY means in the video. Why are you coming at me saying "know your definitions" no you know your definitions! I'm getting mine about minorities from experts, not the standard definition based on numerical proportions online at Websters LOL!!!!!!!!!

  • Ignignokt2 <<--- a Minority is someone who 1) suffers a pattern of disadvantage 2) membership is usually determined at birth 3) they are a self conscious social unit 4) there is sometimes a visible trait or marker (such as dark skin) 5) they tend to marry within the group

THIS IS THE DEFINITION FOR A MINORITY

Minorities in the USA: appalachian whites, blacks, mexicans, native americans, women, handicap, etc etc

  • I personally don't care if minorities receive a little extra help economically. But affirmative action promotes racism.

By not treating everyone the same, you are really dividing the people.. causing everyone to wave their finger and say it's not fair.

Also, I'm as white as you can get, and neither of my parents went to collage. My father was homeless for ten years. And if there is one thing they taught me... It's that there is nothing more disgraceful than receiving a handout.

  • Affirmative Action still exists and it is still a problem. Look at the group of firefighters from New Haven Connecticut that were denied a promotion.

  • @achaeos

To "find your own culture to dominate" would just be perpetuating a dominated culture. "White created civilization?" Those aren't not the right words.

There is "no hope for you people to truly integrate in a white created civilization" because people like yourself think that black people need "to leave or to be executed."

We can't go back to Africa because Africans won't accept African-Americans. It's already been tried and failed but maybe you can try to go back to Europe.

  • I'm currently arguing on a "metal vs rap" video against two guys who think "black people are worthless." Then I stumbled across this video and see you doing the same thing. Respect to you for that.

People are confused thinking affirmative action helps blacks compete with whites. It helps MINORITIES, regardless of gender (women), sexual orientation (homosexuals), and race (African, Asian, Native American, or islander) in America's European and male dominated culture.

  • I had to file with the EEOC so the employer is on notice. Anything they do against me from now on will be viewed as a retaliatory move against a whistleblower. Yes, the president of the company is a WASp. Big surprise.

  • Very informative! Also, Affirmative action should be expanded and the EEOC given more power so that even if the evidence against the discriminating employer is not overwhelming, so long as there is probable cause or such, they can take action fine them and such. Part of the fine proceeds should go into the pocket of the whisteblower. That will nip the discrimination shit right in the bud.

  • achaeos <<-- "white people's" imperialism is what made countries evil....they invented countries and borders that did not take into account the different ethnicities living in the area... this is obviously all way above your head, so I'll just wait for you to comment back, and then I'll block you after yousay something so retarded, racist, and amusing that I'll wonder how our education system failed you this much.....

  • achaeos <<-- Affirmative Action is in place because equally and a lot of times BETTER qualified minorities DONT get jobs because as research from Harvard shows, white people are the most racist group on the planet, and their prejudice still comes out in forms of discrimination, I hate all these people who think AA is going to one up black people! FOOL! white's have 8 times as much wealth.... it's only 7 behind blacks, not one up them......

  • achaeos <<--- Whites made it illegal for blacks to own homes in thriving neighborhoods after wwII, you're an idiot to say they're handed nice neighborhoods, you're just one of those people that talks when they know nothing... I'm guessing you have an opinion about Islam even though you've never even read the Qur'an ---- see that's the definition of a retarded, fear mongering racist.

  • achaeos <<--- but is it really discriminatory given that Western Culture, and this Country was founded upon slavery, discrimination against Jews and South Eastern Europeans who came in the late 1800's it was built upon murder native americans .... this country is founded because a bunch of scum bags were morally unscrupulous.... We did it in the name of God but none of these people were Godly

  • achaeos <<--- 2. I'd just like to remind you that you are a stupid bigot before I continue. 2. Affirmative Action is not "racist" against white people RAcism is a belief that one race is inferior/superior Discrimination is the actual act of acting upon someones race, and prejudice is a negative emotion associated with someone different than you aka xenophobia, so NO you idiot Affirmative Action is only Discriminatory against whites at its worse

  • achaeos <<--- you are so ignorant and stupid that it is beyond belief ... 1. blacks DID NOT sell each other simply because they wanted to... they were at gun point to the militarily superior WEstern Europeans (not all white people are WEstern European, technically, the Arabs I know you hate are consider Caucasian too) it was either, let's die, or let's round up our enemies..... not much of a choice.

  • ThaNorthFace 1) I'm guessing you don't know the history of AFrica or can even tell me a basic difference in the history of EAst vs West AFrica or name one ruler from Africa so I'm just going to believe that you're ignorant and a bigot wearing NorthFace, so probably the midwestern type

    2) Affirmative Action is NOT anti white, you have to be EQUALLY qualified, and even then white peopel STILL don;t hire minorites, look at the data you fool

    3) you're a racist, I'm blocking you

  • Comment removed

  • ThaNorthFace <<---- My dad literally writes history books, and that's easy!!!! anytime there is competition and limited resources, one group is going to treat the other like crap, so when whites came in OF COURSE the people there are going to be like "no, don't rape us, and murder our children, do it to these other guys"

3rd what about the HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF HAVING NO PROMOTIONS BECAUSE BLACKS WERE SLAAAAAAAAAVES ...seriously? do you even know statistics for the current day and age?

  • ThaNorthFAce <<-- they hate small town white america? OF COURSE BECAUSE OUR LIVES ARE AT STAKE JUST FOR BEING BLACK KKK! wow, and no they DONt hate small town white america, Harvard University did some research proving that your limited experieces makes you hate US, btu anyways, I'm from West Virginia, I don't hate small town white america

  • Comment removed

  • ThaNF <<-- there we go, you hit it right there....all races have done despicable things, you're right, but the matter is in the US and the sheer enormity to which Western Europe alone conquered the whole globe and subordinated almost all peoples on this planet. But yea, the US, slavery wasn't the only evil, it didn't stop when slavery ended, hell the KKK wasnt even around during slavery, I'm talking about de jure and then de facto segregation in the South that last to this day! especially SC!!!

  • Uhm actually it wasnt because they wanted to it was to make a profit. Come now, we cant say the Africans of old arent at any fault. Im not racist, but the plain fact is that Africans did sell enemy tribesmen and women to Whites for profit AT LEAST some of the time. Both parties are at fault, but id say its about 65-35 for whites on who the fault falls on. Im sure there were plenty of instances in which the Africans were not held at gunpoint.

  • cracker <<-- ?? yea it's human nature to do what's best for yourself - people have such a double standard with everything, we want politicians that will give us more, but we want less government. We expect black people to have been wise sages, but not the whites with the superior technological power.... so interesting

  • Very true. Its sad too. Honestly, this video did change my perspective on affirmative action because i too was too uneducated before i watched it, and i totally agree with the idea behind it, but there is not enough "correct enforcement" of the idea. If you know what i mean by that. I think we should put some people to check on the ratio of minority to majority in a place and make sure it checks out with the minority/majority ratio in workplaces in that area or place.

  • crackerkiller89 <<-- that makes complete sense man, I'm not sure about how to best make things better, but I think helping those who are poor will open up a bigger pool of customers in the future, and we'll have to pay less to support the poor in the long run

  • Damn, i didnt think about that. Thats an extremely good point. Then i guess even if the idea of affirmative action is corrupted, its still better for us all in the long run.

  • There are a great many dirt poor, disadvantaged white males. Will affirmative action help them, or is affirmative action just another form of discrimination wherein we change who is discriminated against and not the discrimination itself? I fear that we will only succeed in planting more seeds of discrimination. Can we harvest anything good by planting the seeds of something that is seen as negative? I'm all for equality but I don't think we can get there by practicing mindless discrimination.

  • native americans are drunk. all of them. all the time.

  • 2401POOP fuck you you drunk bastard i'm half native american and i have only been drunk 3 times in my whole life. you are a racist asshole.

  • mrherban -- well I'll excuse your ignorance and not block you so that in the future you might actually learn something. I gave you evidence that you are unfamiliar with, but I can't blame you - anyone with no background in policy or psychology research would not understand these issues very much...

Just ask yourself what black people, or some minorities might struggle with - give it a try - think from someone elses perspective --- maybe your friends are not logical?

  • mrherban <<--- what about the prejudice that spurred congress to enact the 1986 Anti-Drug Abuse ACt which in 1988 was amended to make it so that possession of a mere 5 grams of crack to a minimum 5 year jail sentence.... ANY other drug in any other amount, max a year even tho crack is not more dangerous than cocaine, do you think the legislature wasnt being prejudice when they linked cocaine use to blacks? why is alcohol, which killed 85,000 people last year legal when crack killed only 1450?

  • @amanjohnk sounds like you are saying you think black people are the only crack users. other races use crack. everything you say sounds like you hate or resent white people.the way you talk makes me believe you are racist.

  • robotluigi <<-- you dont know me, nor do I think you know the same information as me. Because you're native American it just validates to me that you probably are not as educated, and the fact that you're mixed and your girlfriend is hispanic is telling me that you probably live in some urban area and are not doing that well.... you're with her because Native Americans have the highest rate for intermarriage because your people were slaughtered...anyways

  • mrherban << -- how about the effects of Malcolm X being told to be a carpenter by his teacher when he had the highest grades in the class, but that same teacher told the other kids to be doctors and lawyers... what about when Henry Louis Gates got arrested outside of Harvard because the police couldnt; believe that a black guy could own such a nice home....

  • mrherban <<-- black people live in fear of being murdered, the KKK or how about the Rodney King beating in the 90's that led to race riots in LA or when the police shot a black UNARMED immigrant 30 some times because he was a "suspect" but he was really innocent? would u say that's prejudice? or how about YOU!!!! that DESPITE THE FACTS you can't even absorb the argument and admit that I'm right...

  • mrherban << -- the effects of this have been racial profiling, equal candidates not getting jobs for which the minority is actually BETTER qualified - you dont seem very smart, maybe you know football? remember when ALabama didnt hire the black guy who had a superior record?

  • mrherban <<-- so in other words, I can throw a book at you, and I'm doing it in my video - black people believe that they are inferior academically, even tho it's proven that when not made aware of this, they perform just as well as white kids (watch my latest video for this one) Harvard did a study that revealed that 70% of white peopel have a negative prejudice against blacks while blacks did NOT have this prejudice

  • mrherban <<-- or that fact that as a white dude, your chances are MUCH greater that you know a professional network - even if you don't personally, your family does to an extent that is literally 8 TIMES AS POWERFUL as a white persons given that white people have 8 times as much wealth partly due to how the government refused to sell blacks houses after WWII, and that business are moving out of the urban center where minorities live, but blacks don't have transportation to work in the suburbs

  • mrherban << -- how about Brown vs Board...remember that court case where the Supreme Court ruled that segregation was not "separate but equal" when the black children would pick white dolls and said that the black dolls were dirty... there's ridiculous amounts of psychological evidence - I'm a psych major which is why I know this stuff

  • affirmative has everything to do with quotas...it just is.

  • mrherban <<--- because the US has the best opportunities.... but to act like the effects of hundreds of years of subordination and oppression and extortion just disappeared is very naive of you. I'm going to guess you don't study this stuff- so I'll excuse your bad temper and ignorance. I'm mixed btw - Tanzanian - and white

  • IM A MALE CROSSDRESSER

  • that can be surfaced and justified involves one's "wealth", but like I reiterated earlier, someone of a minority or "dominant" status can be rich or poor. Opportunities are only less available, in some cases, to one that has the lesser means to access such things as an education, for example. Minorities cannot be assumed always to be poorer than the "dominant group".

  • AmanJohnK, I wholeheartedly agree that we should "consciously make investments in struggling communities", but I disagree when one generalizes that these communities are communities comprised solely of minorities because this is simply not the truth.

When you said "it's about equalizing things since the dominant group has resources and connections that minorities will never have", I question this rationale. Minorities are just as able as the dominant societal population. The differentiation

  • "low" socioeconomic status. We are now discussing two completely different subjects of debate; these of which are unrelated. Your argument, AmanJohnK, should then apply to all that live in lesser living conditions than the dominant population, or the "average" person. It would then be discriminatory to only provide benefits to MINORITIES that lived in such conditions and not all that lived this way.

  • 1290 << then let's discriminate! just because a word sounds bad doesn't mean it really is! and I'm not saying we should provide ONLY to minorities, I'm saying we should consciously make investments in struggling communities, Appalachians, urban ghettos, etc etc.... do u see what I mean... the system discriminates on its own so it's not that big a deal if we discriminate seeing as the disparity keeps growing between groups and in the long run will cause us to fall apart

  • AmanJohnK, simply because "some" or "many" minorities live in worse conditions than the dominant group does not equate all persons of minority status receiving preferential treatment over the dominant group. This is a generalization. There are many minorities that live in better living conditions than those of the "dominant group", as well as there are persons a part of the "dominant group" that live in worse living conditions than many minorities. All minorities cannot be aligned with a...

  • 1290 << yes I completely agree with that statement, and only an idiot would think to give opportunity based on only minority status, there are 3 different minority groups whose lives are MUCH better than the dominant group, but I'm saying it's not someone getting preferential treatment, it's equalizing things since the dominant group has resources and connections that minorities will never have ....

  • KeeganLW, the quote you provided from the text "Debating Affirmative Action" is an excellent example supporting the ideal that Affirmative Action policies do not "level" the playing field, but in fact emphasize and encourage the division between groups, that is minorities and non-minorities. Equality cannot be justified in one group receiving benefits over another.

  • 1290MIRANDA << --- my God, I'm tired of this, it's not that one group is getting a benefit over the other... goodness, I'm tired of these people who have never been poor acting like they know what the heck they're talking about << America wasn't built on an ideal of equalist F*ck that, and it says in our constitution whatever makes the most people happy, Afrimative Action could help ....

  • America was founded upon the ideal that we all are equals; therefore we should be treated as such. No group of people should be given preferential treatment, not Caucasians, or African Americans.

  • I agree with you, 1290MIRANDA. The USA ideal of equality is challenged when Affirmative Action comes into play. Preferential treatment is favoring one group over another, therefore creating a divide. Since we, as a nation, strive for this idea of equality, we must have equal opportunity. To have equal opportunity for all, we must ban preferred treatment and affirmative action.

  • KeeganLW <<--- you both are out of touch, it's unbelievable, and I don't think you guys have a lot of perspective either...I'm so frustrated because it's hard to talk to people that don't understand history or psychology, specifically that for African Americans, I'm not even African American (I'm African) and I know more than you Americans! thisis shameful

  • all should be given the same standards upon the admittance into a university or a postsecondary institution. Caucasian students need financial aid for college just as African American students do. One can make the argument that the income of minorities is significantly lower than that of one considered a part of the "majority", but it has been proven that Asian Americans typically maintain the highest income annually.

  • One's ethnicity is something one cannot help, therefore why should this be taken into account when college's compare applicants wishing to attend their particular university? I agree with the idea of promoting more diversity and representation of different ethnicities in the workplace and in educational settings, but I disagree about how this is to be conducted. Whether one is African American, Caucasian, a woman, or a visually impaired student...

  • Minorities obtain scholarships more easily, as they are made abundantly more available to these specific groups. This practice is unfair because as a Caucasian female, I would like the opportunity to apply for as many scholarships as the next person. Scholarships should be based upon one's performance or outstanding achievement in a specified category.

  • The court sided with Bakke because the act and practice of a separate admissions program at the university was deemed unconstitutional, and prevented Bakke's entry into this medical program ultimately because he was unable to identify himself as a minority. This information came from Document 227 and 228 from "Affirmative Action", edited by Jo Ann Robinson.
