i dont use CAD i use 3dmax ..i see the error.. what is the best way or what type of file do i use ?? to import a file from revit .. and how do i save as in 3dmax?
@jzamudification importing dwg (cad 2d/3d) into revit takes AAAAAAGES, and results usually not so satisfying. and u cant import a max file into revit, for some reason max fbx exports give an error on revit
rendering in revit is simply terrible but they will never make a better rendering engine because they want people to buy revit to construct and max to render =/
And your not completely correct yourself. 3D Max unless you have the latest version today the older ones take so long to render ut 30 second scenes. also the no one uses it term does not exist, lots of people use it. Alot of my friends that make animated scenes uses revits 3d part for their buildings.
when you overwrite the .dwg after you made the change in revit it will not keep all th seetings in max with a simple reload. you need to reaply all maps and its a pain if you have a huge file. Max needs to have a straight link to rvt and not to dwg. revit needs to get rid of their accurender rendering engine becuase no one uses it. the quality and speed is nowhere near max. they also need to get read of the walkthru becuase its easier in max.

FBX is only possible with Revit 2009 - this video was done a year ago when the only option was DWG!

this video is not completely correct.
